Comfortable, casual, and enjoyable
For those who depend on extensive amenities and luxury, this may not be your best choice. But we found the accommodations extremely comfortable. The service could not be faulted at any level. The rooms, while smallish, were clean and well kept. We stayed in the Old Europe suite which has an exit directly to the patio, which is a wonderful place to relax and to recuperate from an evening in the Quarter or on Frenchman's. The room had a mini fridge, and a microwave was available fin the lobby to revisit the takeout from a previous evening's meal. Coffee was on hand each morning in the lobby. The beds were very comfortable. The rate was a real treat compared to other lodgings we've used in the city.
Our hosts Charlie and Kim were absolutely beyond compare. My wife and I formed a personal relationship that was truly unique n our travel experience. While they haven't been in NOLA long, they were great for dining tips and directions to local shops, bars, convenience stores and the like. Very casual, and I don't think anyone could be any friendlier. They ran us on a few errands, and to the airport at a better cost than a cab.
The Inn is in the Marigny, and Frenchman St. easy an easy walk. Not too much farther is the French Quarter, and I was able to walk there and back on multiple occasions. The neighborhood is trendy and seemed quite safe, and there are several restaurants and bars within a few blocks. Cabs are easy to get if you're not a walker.
We typically use our room to flop after wandering, and so the more casual style suited us very well! But we probably spent more time at the Inn than other accommodations we've used in the past just to spend more time with Charlie and Kim. They truly made this a very special week in our lives. We don't know how soon we'll make our 4th trip to the Big Easy, but we already know where we'll stay!
