Located in the historic and picturesque village of St Sauvant, the cottage is a perfect base for visiting the vineyards of Cognac and it's world renown Cognac houses. The area is famous not only for its Cognacs but for the hundreds of Romanesque churches that dot the countryside and a perfect spot for those who like to paint or sketch.
The fabulous Bordeaux region with its vineyards and Chateaux is only one hour 15 mins drive and the city itself, now a UNESCO protected world heritage site,is well worth a visit.
The historic port of La Rochelle is one hour away as is the charming Ile de Ré.
The atlantic beaches of Royan, la grande Cote and the Cote Savage are an hour away.
St Sauvant is perhaps one of the prettiest villages in the Charentes region of SW France. Situated between the world famous town of Cognac and the ancient Roman town of Saintes it is idyllic, peaceful and very pretty. Ideally situated, it is only an hour from the beautiful Atlantic beaches, the islands of Oleron and Ré and of course La Rochelle. The beautiful city of Bordeaux and its vineyards is an hour and half away.
