Great getaway for families or hard-core fisherman. Lake Calcasieu ( known as Big Lake ) is well known for its fantastic redfish and speckled trout fishing. The scenic views are very relaxing and the property is in a quiet area around other camps.
Property is very cozy with new amenities. Great place for that relaxing weekend. Camp has 3 covered porches to relax under. Property provides quick access to stores in town and is close to several boat launches. Dugas landing being the closest boat launch at 700 Joe Dugas Rd. See map below
Awesome property. 3 bedrooms and 6 beds was perfect for me and my 5 buddies. The back covered porch area on the canal was extremely well light at night and a great place to hang out, BBQ and stay dry....even in the rain. Just a few minutes to Big Lake by boat. Owner was VERY helpful and great communication. We will be booking this property again!! Thanks Joe!!
Fort Bend Fisherman:
Eight members of the Fort Bend Co. CCA (TX) a/k/a Fort Bend Fishermen made a trip to Hackberry Oct. 15-19. We had a great time although the fish did not cooperate as much as we would have like them to. Our stay was a good one. The lodging here was great. Very nice accommodations at this facility. We look forward to returning.
The place was very nice for our fishing trip and hope to stay there again. Would like to suggest that the owner put a light under metal awning in the back and mount a couple of fans. The light on the house was not sufficent to see under awning and if the wind is not blowing the mosquitoes of course are bad.
Very clean and comfortable! Fished and crabbed from dock. Lots of fun
Sabine National Wildlife Refuge is just 10 miles south of the property. Come enjoy all that Cameron Parish has to offer whether it is fishing, hunting or nature viewing.
