5 ensuite bedrooms, sleeps 8 -12, 4 bedrooms in house, 1 in adjacent cottage

Casa Robledal, a lovely, cool refuge during the summer, is a cosy winter retreat as well. Inventively designed 4 bedroom country house with adjacent 1 bed cottage, 15m x 5m pool, set amidst glorious mountain scenery on a 50 acre private estate. Dine outside on the big covered terrace or shelter from any weather in the `great room´ which combines sitting area, dining, and kitchen under the high pitched ceiling. This is perfect for family get togethers, or groups of friends. The 15m pool just below the terrace invites a dip or is long enough for a serious swim. The house is all on one level, private and secluded, with wonderful sunsets and a feeling of being 'away from it all'. Take a morning stroll around the private estate, enjoy the far-reaching views and fresh air, the birds and wildflowers. Venture further afield: only 3 miles, a 45 minute walk from the 'white village' Gaucin, less than an hour to the beach, Ronda, or Marbella, day trips to Granada, Sevilla, even Morocco, the house is a perfect base for touring. Or just sit back, enjoy the wonderful views and the soaring birds, and unwind.

Plenty of accommodation on one level: The house and cottage were both designed on one level, with a ramp down to the pool. This is more comfortable for everyone, and particularly so for anyone who has a problem with stairs or steps. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and offers privacy and quiet away from the 'great room' central space.

Extra insulation in the roof makes the house cool in hot summer weather, and warm in winter. Complete central heating, underfloor in the 'great room' and bathrooms, radiators in the bedrooms, makes for a cosy winter retreat.

As the caretakers, we live on the same estate, completely separate and out of sight of Casa Robledal. Without disturbing your privacy, WE ARE THERE TO MAKE YOUR HOLIDAY AS ENJOYABLE AS POSSIBLE, SHOULD YOU NEED ANY HELP OR ADVICE. We will meet you in the village to show you the way, introduce you to the house and the area, and answer any questions you may have.

Casa Robledal (an oak grove, named for the large old oak trees sheltering the house) is a good centre for touring and site seeing. The golden trio of Andalucian cities, Sevilla, Granada, and Córdoba, are all possible day trips. Or take the ferry to Tangier for the day for a real change of scene. Ronda, with its spectacular gorge, the oldest bullring in Spain, and its echoes of Moorish and Roman times is only 45 minutes away. Marbella and Gibraltar are also within easy reach. A visit to the nearby Mediterranean and Atlantic beaches contrasts with the mountain hideaway of Casa Robledal. Set out in the morning to see white villages clinging to the hillsides of the quiet mountain roads, or Grazalema Natural Park with its spectacular mountain scenery and serious footpaths for walkers. And the peace and quiet of Casa Robledal welcomes your return at the end of a busy day.

  • THE ABOVE RENTAL RATES IN THE TABLE ARE FOR THE 4 BEDROOM HOUSE ONLY, SLEEPING 8 - 10 (maximum).

    FOR LARGER GROUPS, ADD THE COTTAGE

    FOR LARGER GROUPS (SPRING AND SUMMER ONLY), ADD THE ADJACENT 1 BEDROOM COTTAGE
    High Season, add £300 per week: £2,780 per week total for house and cottage. Mid Season, add £300 per week: £2,380 per week for house and cottage. This gives a couple or individual some private space, their own kitchenette and terrace, and a quick walk up to the main house to rejoin the group.

    THE COTTAGE IS NOT AVAILABLE IN WINTER.
  • ADDITIONAL PRICING INFORMATION


    Rental rates are for the property per week in Sterling. Please note there is an extra charge of 200€ per week for heating the house (if necessary). This is payable in cash on arrival. Firewood is available and will be charged at cost.

    Cleaning once a week is included in the price. For stays of two weeks or more, twice weekly cleaning plus a weekly change of bed-linen/towels is included.

    Cook service, extra maid service, massage all available at extra cost.

    THE CARETAKERS, WHO WILL MEET YOU TO SHOW YOU TO THE VILLA, WILL DO ALL THEY CAN TO MAKE YOUR STAY COMFORTABLE AND RELAXING.
  • PAYMENT TERMS

    Payment is by international bank transfer. First payment is a 25% non-refundable reservation deposit, payable when you book.

    We strongly recommend that you take out insurance against cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances.

    The balance of your payment will be due 8 weeks before your holiday arrival date.

    Please note that there will be a cash deposit of 500 euros payable on your arrival to cover any damage during your stay. This is refundable on your departure.

Thank you for a delightful week in your beautiful villa. Alison, myself, and our four children (ages 20,19,17,14) found ourselves relaxed and thoroughly entertained here for our week. What with internet (which meant the kids had their Facebook and I kept in touch with work through VPN) and your lovely pool and beautiful outlook across the valleys, we had everything we could wish for.

A wonderful week to commit to memory...

It is a fascinating and original place, tastefully and so obviously well-designed. We are a family of 10, but it was spacious enough that no one got under anyone's feet (or up one's nose) and there are plenty of places to gather together for communal acts of frivolity!

The rooms are pleasing and uncluttered and as we have teenage children the ensuites are...useful.

Pool and pool area is beautiful, a godsend with children (4) and floating about in the mountains--can't get much better.

I loved the lavender...

My first ever trip to Spain. The holiday has been exciting--the house is big but comfy and the pool topped it off! We went in it every single day, for hours, even Grandad (81 who hates swimming)and Esther (3) found it irresistable.

We spotted some great wildlife, lizards, a frog that kept coming in the pool, a bull, a boar (wild), big birds (we think were eagles), goats, and weird and wonderful butterflies.

We liked the layout of the kitchen/dining rooom/lounge and the terrace outside was nice and sheltered.

We swam in the river one day, which was great.

Recharge the spirit...

Fantastic place to relax and swim morning, noon and night. Being surrounded by such stunning scenery is a good way to recharge the spirit.

Please resurrect your thyme bushes, which have been eaten by the curry plant!

We particularly enjoyed all the restaurants in El Colmenar, especially Casa Ananda.

What a wonderful villa! The location was perfect for exploring the area and the house made for a tranquil retreat in the morning, evening, and days where we wnted to simply lie by the pool. Namir and Linda wre so accommodating and helpful. Thank you for a great holiday. The Crowe, Pedersen, and Meucci families. 14 people!
