My name is Gloria Piña. I grew up in this house and my parents gave me this house in 2010 to keep them in a Personal Care Home. My dad passed away shortly after giving me the house, however, my mom is 87 years old and is still in the Personal Care Home. My husband, Mike and I renovated the house in 2010 and rented it for 2 years to a young couple. We have fixed it up to make it a Vacation Rental due to its prime central location. The photo above is us at Fiesta. This is a 10 day event that occurs every year in San Antonio the third week of April. I was born and raised in San Antonio and there is a lot to do and see. In fact, my husband and I stay downtown twice a year -- at Fiesta and in September, during JazzSAlive festival. I have worked with my brother in law to make the house as cozy and home like as possible for all to enjoy.
Gloria L. Piña purchased this house in 2010
This property is located in a quiet historical area of San Antonio. You are close to downtown and Hwy 281, however, you would never know it due to the peace and traquility at the house.
When you come out of the neighborhood, you hop on Hwy 281 and can get anywhere in the city in minutes. Downtown is less than 10 minutes away. The Pearl Brewery is 5 minutes away up Broadway. There are restaurants and bars and a Farmer's Market on Saturdays there. Breckenridge Park, San Antonio Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, San Antonio Municipal Golf course are all within 5-7 minutes away. There are restaurants and antique shopping down Broadway which is less than 7 minutes away.
We had an awesome mini-reunion of six college friends, having come to SA to help to wrangle the Trinity Tiger balloon in the Battle of Flowers parade. Gloria's house was ideal for us, right in our old stomping grounds, just a few blocks from Bombay's, Trinity, and Brackenridge Park. Gloria was thoroughly helpful and accommodating, and the price was unbeatable. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Our group of six people had a great time staying here. It's located close to downtown and the Pearl district, so we were able to make the most of our stay. The house was great and we really enjoyed relaxing in the backyard. Gloria was very helpful and responsive.
We really enjoyed our stay. We were close to everything and the house was very cute and well decorated.
When my family of 5 drove up to the place, we were a little hesitant. The house was located near the San Antonio zoo in a not so upscale neighborhood. The house looked small and dated. But when we stepped inside we were home. The inside was well decorated and modern looking. There is one full bath, two bedrooms with queen size beds, and a room with two twin size beds. It was a very comfortable place for our family.
The rental was for one week to escape northern cold. The house is an older place, but adequate and Gloria was quite helpful, providing suggestions and maps. This property would be appropriate for a family or group wanting a no frills place that is convenient to many of the attractions of San Antonio.
Property was clean and as described and owner was very personable. She met us at the property and was able to accommodate a late arrival . Very kind and helpful. I would stay here again on returning to San Antonio. She has provided everything we would need for our stay. It was convenient to Lackland AFB for my son's graduation. A real plus in my opinion!
