Overview

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday chalet in Anzere - Chalet Les Fétiches

3 Bedroom Chalet, Sleeps 6, in the Village of Anzère

Chalet-Les-Fétiches (Anzère):

Chalet Les Fétiches is in the ski resort village of Anzère, positioned high above the Rhône Valley with spectacular views over the Southern Alps. The accommodation is self-catering, and the rooms are cosy and attractive. The Chalet is in easy walking distance of the village centre. Chalet Les Fétiches is an ideal location for winter and summer activities in the Swiss Alps.

The Valais Region of Switzerland:

Some of the most stunning Alpine scenery is to be found in the Valais region of Switzerland. Many of the spectacular mountain peaks rise to over 4,000m. At the heart of the Rhône Valley is the historic fort city of Sion, (capital of the Swiss canton of Valais), which is 20 minutes away. The west end of the valley opens out onto Lake Geneva and the east part finishes up with the Rhône Glacier.

Access to many other ski areas is possible from Chalet Les Fétiches. These include Crans-Montana, which neighbours onto Anzère, and on the opposite side of the Rhone is the Four-Valleys ski area, which includes Verbier. Further a field are the resorts of Zermatt and Saas-Fee.

Other aspects of the region include excellent local wines, thermal hot springs, traditional foods such as Raclette, Fondue, and the local firewater Le William!

A Delightful Cosy Swiss Chalet

  • 5 of 5

Chalet Les Fetiches in Anzère is the most gorgeous Little Swiss Chalet in a perfect peaceful setting. It has a bus stop very close by to take you straight up to the Main Ski lift. The Chalet is very well equipped, beautifully cleaned and the beds are very comfy and there is plenty of hot water, very important for those well earned baths!!! We went out to a lovely Crepe Bar and we went to The Spa and Wellness Centre for a swim in the indoor/outdoor Pool which I would highly recommend. We booked our lessons and ski hire through Glycerine who were very helpful and the Instructor, called Ben was brilliant and made it great fun for our children who were all beginners! The owner provided excellent customer service and I would most definitely recommend this Chalet to friends and Family!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for this review of our Chalet. The village of Anzère is wonderfully compact (the village centre is traffic free) and the restaurants, cafes, shops, ski schools, and the excellent Spa & Welnness Centre are all in easy walking distance of each other. Anzère is a great place for children and families, and the resort caters so well for beginners. Our little Chalet is always warm, welcoming, cozy, and perfect for a winter or summer holiday break.

Cosy and Homely

  • 5 of 5

Chalet Les Fetiches was warm and welcoming and very clean. It was was good to have self contained accommodation but would have liked to have been informed that access to the down stairs bedroom was from outside the Chalet It was good to be provided with Wi-fi.The location was fantastic with spectacular views of the Swiss Alps. Anzere was fabulous with great amenities such as the Spa and Wellness Centre besides the all important ski slopes. It was heaven to bathe in the hot outdoor pool with snow all around and sit in a hot tub. The café's and restaurants were superb and the village Coop proved to be very handy.

The free bus around Anzere which ran every 15 minutes and regular buses to Sion meant that a car wasn't essential.

The owner was exceptionally helpful throughout the planning of the holiday and a call from his brother when we arrived to check that everything was ok was truly appreciated.

I would certainly recommend this Chalet to anyone as it was great value for money.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for all your feed back and we get a lot of enjoyment out of having guests to stay. Wi-Fi in the Chalet has proved invaluable. The free Ski Bus is excellent and so convenient. To help prospective guests, we do have a layout plan of the Chalet on our website. Anzère is an amazing place, with stunning panoramic views over the Swiss Alps. We are very lucky to have such a choice of Cafés, Restaurants, and shops in Anzère. The Spa and Wellness Centre has been a real success to the village and lovely for anyone staying at the Chalet.

a wonderful Switserland experience

  • 4 of 5

It was very nice to have our own typical Swiss chalet in which we felt really at home. We appreciated the would design from the sixties, the sunny balcony and the beautiful view of the mountains.

It was also comfortable and practical.

The location was good for skiing and walking and the nearby old city of Sion was a discovery.

In Anzère you find everything you need and even a nice swimming pool (with a part outside).

We would like to return!

Owner's Response: The Chalet is homely & cosy, and has the advantage of providing your own private space. Our Chalet is blessed with a superb sunny south facing position, over looking spectacular mountains. Sion, the capital city of the Valais, is a vibrant historical city with old world charm, well worth the visit, and a great discovery too. Anzère’s new swimming pool, spa, and wellness centre has been a great success. Anzère’s skiing is good for all standards of skiers, and there are plenty of good walking trails in and around the village. In the future we would be delighted to have you all back.

Probably our best winter vacation !

  • 5 of 5

This is the first time we stay in Switzerland for our winter holidays, and it has been a wonderful experience. The resort is perfect for our family - not too large (we have 2 girls of 9 and 7), but with long ski slopes, very enjoyable.

The chalet was perfect for us : absolutely clean, very cosy, it really felt as if we were in a family home (which is actually the case !). Its location is great : it is not in the heart of the Anzere resort, which is why it so quiet. But at the same time, the shuttle bus' stop to the village is only 20 meters away, and the bus passes every 15 or 20 minutes, so the access to the ski slopes and the village is really easy (even with small children). So you don't have to bother with the car (it didn't leave its parking place, right next to the chalet, for the whole week !), which is also another asset of the place...

We also put our girls to the Swiss Ski School every afternoon, and they were delighted : the ski teachers are highly competent, and extremely kind and patient with children.

Above all I would like to thank the proprietor, Mr. Prior, for his kindness, and the quality of the relationship that we had by e-mail. He has been extremely helpful, giving many advice and information on the chalet, the resort, shops, etc... Many thanks too to his brother Gerald, who lives in Anzere, and is also a ski teacher at the Swiss Ski School : he was there to welcome us when we arrived, and saw us out at the end of our stay, giving also many advice, and adding a "family touch" to this wonderful holiday...

We only have one hope, that we'll be able to come back !

Owner's Response: Thank you for your wonderful review of your holiday. Anzère is a great family ski resort. The Chalet has always been our home away from home & it is so good to have the opportunity to share this with other families too. The convenience of the Ski Shuttle Bus does give you the chance to park the car up for the holiday & to have a break from driving. The Swiss Ski School in Anzère has always been good, my brother & I both learnt to ski in Anzère, and as mentioned, my brother now works for the Ski School. We do hope that you and your family do return in the near future.

Great location and very cosy Alpine chalet

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from the most fantastic family holiday. The chalet was well located and very comfortable. Having a garage/store room was an added bonus for the boring practicalities of housing skis/boots at the end of a day on the slopes. There is also a washing machine/boiler room which we have never had in a chalet before and it we found it particularly useful as we have young children.

We were amazed by how easy the train was from Geneva Airport to Sion; so easy and stress free. It leaves every half an hour, with the first train starting at 5.15Am. The journey time is 2 hours. There is a train fare for children 6-16years which is CHF30 for the year (versus paying CHF25 per child just for a one way). Children 0-5years travel for free on buses and trains. We caught a bus up the hill to Anzere (30 mins) CHF35 for all five of us, or you can hire a car (Europcar office in the Train station), or take a taxi for CHF78 one way. The buses leave from right outside Sion train station so it couldn't be easier. We didn't miss not having a car whilst at the chalet as the ski bus is brilliant, it comes past every 15minutes (8.30am-5.30pm) and the bus stop is 50m from the door of the chalet.

Anzere is a small, local, friendly village away from the maddening crowd and off the usual 'tourist route'. We really had the most wonderful time and cannot Thank You enough for allowing us to experience what we felt was the Alps at its best.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the review. Some really useful travel information, a reminder to us all how good the Swiss Rail service is, and what good value it is too. The Post Bus (PTT) service is excellent too, and if you do not have a car the PTT will get you anywhere in Switzerland. Sion Rail Station has its Taxi rank right in front of the station; the yellow PTT buses are all lined up opposite, and if you need a car rental from Europcar, as you mention its office is in the rail station. The Anzère Ski-Bus works so well for Chalet Les Fétiches, and so convenient when you are with children. Anzère is a great village, friendly atmosphere, lots of Swiss alpine charm, great location in the heart of the Valais region, and in many ways an undiscovered gem.

Anzère:

Anzère is a friendly and attractive south-facing village with all the expected amenities of an alpine ski resort for both winter and summer activities. The resort is purpose built and is one of the finest examples of its kind in the Alps. Anzère's new Wellness-Centre, with swimming pool has been very well received, and an ideal way to relax after a day on the mountain.

The Valais Region (Switzerland):

Some of the most stunning Alpine scenery is to be found in the Valais region of Switzerland. At the heart of the Rhone Valley is the historic fort town of Sion, which is 20 minutes away. The west end of the valley opens out onto Lake Geneva and the east part finishes up with the Rhone Glacier. Other aspects of the region include excellent local wines, thermal hot springs, traditional foods such as raclette, and the local firewater Le William!

Skiing:

Anzère is a medium sized friendly family ski resort. The snow record of Anzère is excellent. There are a wide range of mountain restaurants, with superb views, and great food.

Ski Resort:

Access to many other ski areas is possible from Chalet Les Fetiches. These include Crans-Montana, which neighbours onto Anzère, and on the opposite side of the Rhone is the Four-Valleys ski area, which includes Verbier, & Nendaz. Further a field, are the resorts of Zermatt, & Saas-Fee.

Golf:

15 km from Anzère is Crans-Montana with its 18 holes golf course (par 72). The Golf Club hosts the European Master Golf Tournament annually, one of the main European events. There is also a 9 hole course, designed by Jack Niklaus (par 35). Another 9 hole course for beginners at Super Crans. The Sion and Sierre Golf Clubs (20 minutes' drive), featuring 18 & 9 holes respectively. Anzère is within 30 minutes' drive from all these Clubs.
