At an altitude of 1,000 metres Lermoos lies at the gateway to the Tyrol, and is easily accessible from the north. It immediately gives a feeling of well-being, an idyllic village with one of the most beautiful churches in the Tyrol, Lermoos is at the foot of the Grubigstein mountain in a valley amidst the mighty Mieminger and Zugspitz mountain chains. Nature lovers will feel at home here. Not only do the surrounding mountains invite you to go walking, there are also opportunities for mountain biking, tennis, golf and swimming either in the mountain lakes of the area or the open pool in the village. Lermoos is directly situated at the foot of Grubigstein’s skiing area and, therefore, makes skiing right down to the front door possible. The variety of ski slopes offers 30 km of guaranteed snow runways and is highly developed with 10 lift systems. Snowboarders can out-rave themselves on our Nature-Halfpipe at the Grubig.
Other Activities: tobaganning, ice-skating
Golf: The Zugspitzarena, where Lermoos is situated, has an additional tourist attraction since summer 2005: a golf course in the lovely valley between Lermoos and Ehrwald just a few minutes' by car from Ansitz Felsenheim, at the foot of the Wetterstein mountain block and Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze.. The fairways are laid out on natural meadows, and the course conforms to all of the latest international standards that a future championship course must offer. Because of its variety of features, the course promises to be challenging, but fair. Demanding par-3 holes might alternate with more straightforward par-4 ones. The par-5 holes, particularly the ninth, will present players with a distance challenge. This variety sets our new golf course apart from many others in the Alps.
Ski: Skiers as well as boarders, cross-country skiers as well as winter hikers all enjoy the best views in the Zugspitz Arena. On the one hand of the prominent Zugspitze, the Wetterstein massif and the Mieminger chain; on the other, of sporting and romantic winter days in the snow. Seven ski areas on one stretch. Nearly all of the seven towns which belong to the Zugspitz Arena (Lermoos, Ehrwald, Biberwier, Lähn, Wängle, Bichlbachand Berwang) has its own mountain lift. In total, there is a single massive ski region: 52 lift systems – the most modern gondel lifts, chair and tow lifts – join the wonderful heights. Combined, the region can boast 134 highly varied kilometers of slopes. With the ‘Happy Ski Card’, carvers and boarders cannot only use all the lifts in the Zugspitz Arena, they can also take advantage of those in Seefeld and Garmisch. For cross-country skiers, Tyrol’s Zugspitz Arena is a real insider tip. More than 100 km of track through a magical landscape provide enough challenge
