If you want a peaceful, deeply renewing holiday, this is your spot. The apartment has stunning ocean views from every room, is very well equipped, and extremely spacious. The décor is a very tasteful country Asian style, and there’s a feeling of lightness and comfort in each room. We were there during the peak Christmas holiday season, and even then the pool area was often completely empty. At low tide the beach is long enough for a 2-mile round trip walk or run, and there are some charming restaurants at one end if you want to pause for a drink or a meal. Best of all, the owner’s apartment manager, Noi, is a huge asset; she will arrange for inexpensive Thai massages in the apartment, coordinate meals, book reservations, and help in every way imaginable. The owner also has a car and driver that you can use, which I highly recommend; cost us about 25% less than renting a Hertz car with none of the hassle of finding our way around in a new area. We enjoyed being away from the intense tourist crowd on the west side of the island, although it was only a 30-min drive to get there for dinner on a couple of evenings. Marc Singleton, the owner, is also extremely helpful, and this place is every bit as lovely and peaceful as the photos on the website.
