Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Casuarina Point - Abaco Key Lime Beach House

Luxurious New 3 Bed, 3 Bath, Beach Home, Large Open Living/Dining Area & Deck

Casuarina Point is a unique location with beautiful, crystal clear shallow water. This area boasts some of the prettiest white sand beaches in the world, one of which is at your doorstep. The reef that protects the bay provides for calm waters unlike many oceanfront beaches. With several small uninhabited islands in the area you can always find something to do. There are blue holes, shoals, flats, sand banks and at least three very private beaches for swimming and picnics. If you like fly fishing for the elusive bone fish you need not go any further than right out the front door. Several of our guests have caught them wading less the five hundred feet from the house. The sand banks in the area are a great place for the young and old to discover new things like rays, star fish, shelling and sand dollars which we can guarantee that you will find. There is much to do if you wish to get out and explore.

For your use there are four kayaks, one of which is a tandem and the option to rent our small motorized boat. The thirteen foot Boston Whaler will allow you to venture further and discover even more. Our home is situated such that the beach is on one side and the canal access is on the other therefore you will be able to use the boat regardless of tides. Our home is the only one in Casuarina Point that has no restriction due to tides.

Should you decide on having us arrange deep sea, bonefish or snorkeling charters the captains can pick you up at your doorstep. Once again the only place in Casuarina where this can be done.

Our home is elevated for good breezes and provides spectacular views of the blues and greens of the bay during the day and millions of stars at night. Watching the moon or sunrise over the bay can be an exhilarating experience. Beach chairs are provided along with lounge chairs for the sun deck. On the covered porch we have an outdoor dining table with seating, Adirondack chairs, lounge chairs and a stainless steel Kitchenaid grill. There is a Tiki Hut on the beach with beach chairs that provide you some shade on the beach and a nice place to have lunch.

Keylime Beach House is very well outfitted as listed below with ample space and very comfortable furnishings as you will see by the photos and items listed. Wireless internet and cable throughout, local and internet phone provided.

3 ensuite bedrooms, all with spectacular beach views, top quality furnishings, linens and towels. 1 king bed with double shower & walk-in closet with entrance to covered deck. 1 queen bed with shower and large closet and entrance to covered deck. 1 queen bed with tub/shower & closet. All bedrooms have flat screen TV’s and excellent views of the beach, bay, ocean and surrounding islands. For those who may like to sleep late the bedrooms have blackout curtains for the areas where sunlight may be an issue.

The living area has leather sofa, love seat and chair with ottoman. A 52” Flat Screen Smart TV, DVD player, IPod doc and surround sound. Games, Movies, Music provided, Books and Cookbooks.

Inside dining table has seating for eight. Breakfast bar seating for three, porch dining seating for six.

Kitchen and breakfast bar have beautiful granite countertops, full size refrigerator with icemaker, gas range, microwave, dishwasher, hand mixer, blender, Cuisine grind & brew coffee maker, can opener, toaster, fondue pot, food processor, flatware service for 12, cooking utensils, cutlery, bake ware, dishes-service for 12, beach coolers, glass and insulated tumblers, barware, cookware and a large variety of spices.

The bar area between the kitchen and living has a 50lb ice machine.

Our beachfront vacation home is a great place for family get togethers, fly fishing, bone fishing, deep sea fishing, kayaking, shelling, picnicking, boating, diving, snorkeling, swimming, beach combing, shelling, barbequing, exploring or simply relaxing. Guaranteed not to hear sirens or auto traffic.

Golfing can be arranged.

About Donna Rees

James and Donna Rees owners of Key Lime Beach House are licensed Brokers and also Owners of Abaco Island Properties Bahamas, with office located in Marsh Harbour.

Working as Real Estate Agents in Abaco for the past 8 years, both are familiar with Abaco, it's mainland and outer cays. Key Lime Beach House is a new and exciting venture. Having always dreamed of owning their own beach home, now their dream has come true. They are eager to share it and look forward to making friends from all corners of the world.

Donna Rees purchased this house in 2012

Why Donna Rees chose Casuarina Point

As children, both of us spent our summers in nearby Cherokee Sound, James with his father who owned a bonefishing camp and Donna with her Grandparents who lived there. We both always have loved the sun and sea and the quiet, relaxing beauty of Casuarina Point and the surrounding area. We raised our children and always dreamed of returning. We enjoy taking a sunset boatride or kayaking in the Bay. Sometimes we just sit and float with the tide. The water is so crystal clear you can see so many sea creatures that you have never seen before. Sometimes there will be a pod of dolphin playing in the channel in front of the house. So here we are, living our dream!

What makes this house unique

We feel safe here and the Abaco’s friendly people just make life wonderful. We purchased the property 11 years ago and always dreamed of having a beach home. This property is unique because we enjoy boating and we can keep our boat at the back door and just steps to the beach to go for a swim. We love watching the schools of bonefish 'tailing' as they feed in the shallow water. The boat basin is like our very own aquarium with tarpon, bonefish, mullet, many other small fish and crabs. We just love being close to nature and the private location at the end of the community. We can take a moonlit stroll on the beach and not worry about a thing.

We came back and it was as wonderful as it was the first time

  • 5 of 5

We returned with our two young children to the Key Lime House and it was as wonderful as it was two years ago. The beach is lovely and my children loved to go adventuring every morning to see what they could find. Some of their finds included huge sea-stars, hermit crabs, land crabs, sand dollars...and it goes on and on. We took advantage of the boat and went to the island across the way, did some great snorkling and went to Cherokee Sound. We really enjoyed seeing the sea turtles on this trip. My husband had a fantastic bone fish charter. Overall the Key Lime Beach House just an incredible spot. The house is fantastic and the location can't be beat. We'll be back!

Wonderful place, wonderful people. This was our second visit to the Key Lime House and it remains the place we will return to again and again. Donna and Jaime(vote for Rees if you please) are the most accommodating people you will find anywhere. They go out of their way to make sure your stay is second to none.

On this trip we were able to see the Abaco parrot, the inland blue hole and visited Treasure Cay and spent a day in Hope Town. Treasure Cay has to have the most beautiful beach I have ever been on.

Our trip would not be complete without several visits to Pete's Pub. Excellent food and drink and a very laid back island atmosphere.

We enjoyed several days on the water fishing also. We took a deep sea charter captained by Garth Albury and had a blast catching Mahi Mahi. Donnie Lowe and JR Albury were two excellent bonefish guides in Cherokee Sound and the southern Marls.

I know there are many beautiful places in the world but Casuarina Point, Cherokee Sound, and the Key Lime House have become a part of us.

Owner's Response: Wonderful to have you visit again! You both have found out the reasons why we love our Casuarina Point and Cherokee Sound area. The guides you fished with grew up here and were a perfect choice. Very much looking forward to your next visit. Jamie and Donna

Home away from home

If you are looking for a vacation home that is private and remote this is the place for you. The beach house was wonderful! Clean, well maintained, lots of extras. The view from the balcony is breath taking but if you like spending time outside in the early mornings & late afternoons/evenings then bug spray is a must! The beach was perfect for shell hunting & long walks. Unfortunately the water in front of the beach house was too shallow for swimming. You must have a car in order to travel to town or enjoy other parts of the island. A big thank you to Donna & Jamie. You were great. You responded quickly to the many questions we had prior to our visit and to any questions or concerns that we had once we arrived.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for writing a kind review and letting us know about your stay. We do experience the no-see-ums at dusk and dawn on calm days. This is common throughout the region. When there is a breeze it is not an issue. As far as swimming most of our guests absolutely love the shallow water for relaxing in and is very safe for older folk and younger children. This is not an ocean beach, however there are areas within a few hundred yards for swimming at any time during the tide changes. Our normal high tide provides about a four to five foot depth immediately in front of the house. Thanks again and we hope you are able to visit us in the future.

Slice of heaven

Great everything! I have been around the world, stayed at many places and I have to honestly say that Keylime is right up there, top of the list. As previous people have said, a rental car is a must. The kayaks are awesome, so much to go see. Boat is highly recommended so you can do some fishing or snorkeling over the blue hole's that are right in the bay in front of the house. Fully stocked kitchen makes it easy to catch your own dinner or shop at the local store and make all your own meals. Area is great for all ages. Shell searching is some of the best right on your own quiet beach. Good pair of wading shoes or water shoes recommended for walking around on the beach and in the water. All in all, nothing bad or even close to bad about this house. This is a return vacation for sure. A+++++ rating. Thank you!!!!!!

Perfect Family Getaway!

Late with this review but can't say enough good things! We spent a week at KeyLime Beach house and had an amazing time. The house is beautiful with everything you would need! We only ate out once because we didn't want to miss a moment outside. We rented the small boat and that's a must so you can explore the area. We picniced several afternoon at the island directly across from the house.(Point of Spit) Our children ages 12 and 15 loved exploring and finding all sorts of shells and sea creatures. My husband was able to bone fish directly behind the house. He also hired a guide for a day of bone fishing with Buddy Pinder. It was a highlight of the trip for my husband and son. We took a ferry over to Hope Town to see the light house and had a nice lunch at Harbours Edge. We did all our grocery shopping at Maxwells it has everything you will need! Our host Donna and James were amazing. They left us a bottle of wine and brought us fresh fish the first night. They were just a phone call away for any problems or questions!! I would highly recommend this house to anyone that wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of a resort. It's the real Bahamas!

Located on a beautiful white, powder sand beach overlooking Cherokee Sound, a breathtaking shallow water bay. Great spot to wade and fly fish for bonefish or explore one of the many blue holes. Also located on the property is your very own private boat basin it's like an aquariam. Stand on the seawall and fish for snapper and bonefish. Very private area, on a dead end road. Sunbathe in privacy on the sundeck. At low tide there is a sand flat, ideal for shelling. Pete's Pub is a great place to relax and enjoy a tropical libation or have a fabulous dinner with the catch of the day and enjoy the local flavour of Abaco. For guided fly fishing, there is a local guide at the end of the street, well worth spending the day with. Across the bay at Cherokee Sound there are Deep Sea fishing charters available. Off shore there are several small uninhabited islands called 'cays' that have beautiful beaches, great for picnicing or shelling/beachcombing. Just a 5 minute drive south of Casuarina Point you can view the rare Abaco Parrot, a spectacular beauty. A day trip to one of the many outer cays, such as Hope Town with it's candy striped light house or Green Turtle Cay's sculpture garden and museum. Come enjoy the island life, relax and play! This will be the best vacation EVER!

This beachfront rental in South Abaco is great place for Abaco Vacations, kayaking, boating, fishing, bone fishing, fly fishing, wading, swimming, snorkeling, diving, picnicing, barbqueing, deep sea fishing, fresh fish, beachcombing, shelling.
