Great pool and location. Communications so-so.
For Poipu at Christmas, you can't beat the location of the house. We walked to beaches every day along the beautiful path near the house. Trips to get groceries or a hotdog were also easy. We rented both the main house and the Ohana adjoining for 3 weeks for a total of 7 people. On arrival, we had no instructions for getting into the Ohana. That required a separate email. Questions about cooking tools were not fully answered. I cook regularly and use a lot of unique tools. I often needed a food processor but the one provided was tiny. There are lots of dishes in the kitchen but more variety of tools would have been nice. The freezer drawer was hard to open and leaking water. The fridge decided to stop working on Christmas day. There was a back-up refrigerator on-site and the local management company responded promptly to hook it up (while apologizing profusely). There were tons of things to use for fun from boogie boards and inflatables to books and games. The house was clean and well kept-up with the exception of the wood kitchen floor which is badly water damaged. The floor surfaces in some of the bedrooms are quite unusual (at least for where I live) as they are some kind of woven fiber. The house has a shoes-off policy so one would need to walk on that fiber barefoot or in socks/house shoes. My dad who has neuropathy in his feet was unfortunately not well prepared for that. For a large group the layout was perfect. You could have people reading in one area and watching TV in an adjoining area without much interference. The kitchen table held everyone comfortably. We didn't eat outside much but there were lots of places to relax inside and out. I would come back if given the chance now that I know the drill. You won't be able to keep your children out of that pool or hot tub.
