This lovely 1 bed flat is situated in the heart of the famous East End which is packed with universities, museums and historical places. Nearby are the trendy bars and restaurants of Brick lane, or take a walk along the Grand Canal [see photo].

The transport system is the best in London with the District, Central and Metropolitan Underground Lines a few minutes walk away or take the famous London buses. See all the major tourist attractions. Buckingham Palace,Royal OperaHouse; Hyde Park, Natural History Museum. Very close to the City and Docklands.

It has a fully equipped kitchen, a large shower, a very comfortable double bed and sofa. The appartment is professionally cleaned. A Panasonic 32in flat TV . The building; and courtyard are private.

The landlord lives near by;and can give assistance at any time.

Cressy House : Cressy House was built for the poor people of the East End. The block is steeped in History.It has been filmed at leased 10 times over the years, for film and TV, from the BBC ,ITV to small idependant companys.

The flat is very comfortable, with a double bed, fully eqiped kitchen, a separate toilet, large living room with 32 inch panasonic TV with comfortable sofa , wooden table and large shower. The ceilings are high . The court Yard are private The flat has original 120 year old wood floor.

Close to city transport

Great location close to the Underground and bus lines. Small but very adequate. Didn't spend much time there as we went into London City every day or traveled by car elsewhere. Parking is limited and requires a parking permit. Easy to access, just ask Barry to help with some information needed.

Awesome in London

This apartment was so great for our needs. We are two seniors who found this location to be perfect for our week in London. The neighbors where so friendly and helpful. Barry was a great help as well. The city subway and bus transportation close by was fantastic. Grocery store and many varieties of restaurants in the area. We felt very safe and the neighborhood quiet and friendly. We often came back to the apartment late evening and always felt safe.

I wish I could put in the pictures I took, because they would tell the condition of the property better. It is not clean, has not been kept up and has a very moldy, musty smell, expecially in the bedroom area. We stayed there 8 days and if we had not paid money in advance would have moved. The good location, kitchen, and washer, did not make up for the condition.
1. The moldy smell, the mold in the shower/sink area and general unclean surfaces are the main concern we have for other travelers. We did ask Barry to change the shower curtain as it was disgustingly dirty, which he did the next day. Then there is the issue of the closet in the bedroom which has old pillows and quilts in it and was the place we were told to hang our clothes. We opened the closet to get hangers out and the smell of "old & moldy" was very strong. We took the hangers out and put the few clothes we needed to hang on the outside and then we used the open shelfs to put our clothes on.
2. We did use the washer, which was nice, but the weather was rainy and not conducive for drying, so we hung a few items up inside and tried to open the windows, but they did not open, so we just left the door open to try to ventilate the place.
3. The shower area is a small closet size room in the bedroom, that also has the sink in with the shower. There are glass blocks that are missing from the wall, scum in the grout on the walls & floor. There is a selection of used cosmetics and we took the moldy shower brush out and put it in the closet trying to put all the bad smells in one place.
4. Barry provided 2 bath towels, we asked for a couple of wash clothes and hand towels and what he ended up giving us was 2 tea towels, nothing useful for showering or drying hands.
5. The toilet area is separate, located inside the front door. The floor molding has not been maintained or properly cleaned. There was no toilet paper holder, or garbage can.
6. We asked Barry for a couple of other things, as the kitchen was not supplied with enough serving dishes for even two people. We needed one more water glass, a second bowl for cereal. Barry did bring in a dinner plate and another bowl, but no glass. There were plenty of cooking pots, but only one wooden spatula for serving, or cooking with and no cutting knife. There were some spices and basics such as sugar, flour, teas, coffee, so that was good.
7. We would NOT recommend this place.

Comfortable

I really enjoyed my stay at Barry's on my first trip to London alone. It was safe, close to grocery stores, eating places, the underground and buses, quiet, comfortable and spacious. Barry was very helpful and accommodating(I arrived much later than I expected to).

The only thing I didn't like was the lack of wifi, but that is easily remedied if you purchase wifi yourself, for a week or upto a month, you're looking at 30 pounds for really good wifi.

Barry was a very good Landlord. The flat was compact but very comfortable. It was close to shops and the tube. We felt safe in the community and got to know much of the area. It was great having a washing machine in the flat. A good place to stay.

Great Location

We were in London for a week in June 2014. Barry was a great landlord who went out of his way to accommodate us. The flat was comfortable and clean. The location was good in that there was a tube station nearby. We would recommend this flat to a friend or relative. Thank you again, Barry.
