Log home built as Mom's dream. Originally a gathering place for the 8 children, spouses, grandchildren, friends. Mom and Dad moved for a night and stayed for their lifetime. Much advice was provided while rocking on the porch or taking a walk in the woods, or fishing in the pond. Described as serene and peaceful by some. Adventurous and lively by others. Pool and hot tub available in season. View of 400 acre farm and surrounding foothills.

Alice Rice purchased this cabin in 1989

We've had every kind of event you can imagine here. Marriage encounters, weddings, funerals. Everytime, incredible memories are made and life-long friendships formed.

Many memories have been made sitting and talking on the porch. On bourbon trail, avail for KY Derby

Best Way to Do Kentucky

  • 5 out of 5
We actually stayed in the family's old Farm house. We had 6 people in our group. It was perfect. The view alone from the rocking chairs sitting on the front the front wrap-around porch overlooking the idyllic green farmlands down below was worth the trip. Having the pool in the backyard and the hot tub on the back porch, was just bonus. It is just far enough out of Bardstown that you feel out in the country but close enough to get into town for groceries or whatever else you need. Very close to the Bourbon Trail, Gesthemani, and beautiful scenic drives.

Owner's Response: It is always a pleasure to serve KY hospitality on silver platter. Glad you enjoyed all the amenities. Hopefully you had time to relax and read on the porch. The breeze is a welcome relief in the summer. Please come back.

Cabin life with Gorgeous Views of Kentucky

  • 5 out of 5
The cabin is so cute. It's child-friendly and pet-friendly. We were greeted by two friendly dogs and we were allowed to bring our dog. There are lots of places to sit outside: the front porch (with a gorgeous view of a valley and knobs), a concrete table with chairs (same view) and a deck off of the side of the house. The fog rolled in in the morning and we awoke to the sounds of cows in the distance. Very relaxing!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your remarks. There are distinct views from many spots around the cabin. The fog can be quite beautiful appearing on the rolling hills and in the woods. Many wildlife sounds are heard that make the visit intriguing.

Like coming home! Perfect base camp for touring the Bourbon Trail. Especially enjoyed the two sweet dogs who ran to greet us whenever we returned to the cabin. Beautifully situated. Fabulous front porch. Convenient kitchen.

Thanks for the kind remarks.

Excellent weekend get-away

  • 5 out of 5
We rented this cabin for a long weekend with my brother and a few
friends. From beginning to end, our overall experience was
excellent.

Beautiful log cabin with full kitchen, living room, downstairs
bedroom, and upstairs loft. The owners live nearby and are welcoming
and easy to deal with.

Easily sleeps five singles, maybe three couples plus two singles.
One thing to note: The whole place is essentially one single room
(plus the bathroom). The downstairs and loft are connected, the
kitchen is attached.

Fantastic living room with seating for 10 around a wonderful
wood-burning fireplace. We especially enjoyed a warm fire after a
long day of bourbon tours and tastings.

Full kitchen was well-stocked and up to the task for 5 guys.

Location well off the beaten path, but convenient to the bourbon
trail with a beautiful view of quiet Kentucky farm country.

Bourbon Trail Homebase

  • 5 out of 5
The cabin was a beautiful step back in time but with all the necessary amenities. The views of the surrounding farms in the valley and the hills ranging beyond were beautiful. We enjoyed each evening around warm blazes in the outdoor firepit, upon which we also prepared some of our dinners, gazed at the stars, and enjoyed listening to the gentle moo'ing of cows and the exhilarating howles of distant coyotes (along with our favorite bourbons and cigars).

The cabin was the perfect center point to spend the days visiting numerous distilleries in the surrounding area. We enjoyed a first class dinner in nearby Bardstown and enjoyed the one wet day in the caves at Mammoth Cave National Park.

If you're looking for peace and relaxation, with some fun adventure mixed in, you'll love the cabin and the area.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. I'm glad you found a great adventure on the rainy day. Perfect choice to see Mammoth Cave as it is always around 60 degrees.

Thanks for selecting us for your homebase while in the Bardstown area.
