This apartment is at the Ponti end of Vassiliki Bay. While this puts you at a distance from the charms of the harbour area, and from the nearest grocery store, Ponti is a charming community in its own right, and the beach is much sandier and less rocky at this end.
The apartment is on the second and third storeys, above a restaurant, but don't worry about noise, as the bedrooms are on the top floor. There is a roadway between the apartment and the beach - but the beach is a three-minute walk from your door, and the tavernas across the street have great food and friendly staff. There is also a laneway used by vehicles at the back of the property, so there is some vehicle noise throughout the day, but we found it quite quiet after 10 pm. There is a dedicated off-street parking stall, conveniently located near the apartment door. The views from the small balcony and from the master bedroom are great. You have a real feeling of being part of a neighbourhood, and everyone is very friendly.
The apartment was well-furnished, the beds and linens were very comfortable, and the mid-week cleaning service was excellent. With a double, two twins and a couch, plus two bathrooms, this apartment would be perfect for four people, a bit of a squeeze for six. There is a fairly steep and narrow set of stairs, so this apartment is not suitable for people with mobility issues. The kitchen was a generous size, with lots and lots of dishes and cutlery. No toaster, coffee-maker or kettle, however, and a little light on pots, pans and cooking knives. Stove, fridge and washing machine were brand-new and very functional. The beach umbrella was much appreciated - great to have it and not have to rent each day!
I would definitely stay at this apartment again, and would not hesitate to recommend it.
