A former two-storey, very welcoming typical early 1900’s Bolognese rural house, our residence is located in the Calderara section of Bologna, only a few kilometers from the center of town. It benefits from good public transportation connections (suburban train at 300 mts – 8 minutes to the center!) and is extremely convenient to the airport and the fairground.
The residence can comfortably accommodate 22-23 guests as a whole in three totally independent, self-sufficient units named after famous Italian painters – Raffaello (6 guests), Michelangelo (8 guests) and Leonardo (8-9 guests). It features its own private parking (free) and a pretty fenced yard (barbecue provided) which is safe for the kids and ideal to relax after a long sight-seeing or business day. The windows overlook both farming land and a couple of storage-industrial barns. A very effective double glazing, noiseproof insulation prevents from possible disturbances caused by the airport and the nearby industrial area. The property as a whole underwent total renovation in 2012 paying particular attention to decoration, details and functionality.
All units are air conditioned, feature their own independent heating system and firewood is available for the fireplaces. Cotto floors, timber ceilings and furniture chosen with love and zest mix with all the necessary modern appliances including a dishwasher, a washing machine, a microwave oven, a satellite TV with VCR/DVD and complimentary internet wi-fi connection. All the above to make your stay at our residence exactly like home – or even better!

Guestbook comments from the owner
This villa is one of the nicest properties I stayed at. Immaculately clean, spacious, well appointed, and was a home from home for a few days. Alberto, Anna and their family have seen to every detail of the apartment, right down to their local wine and produce! Great location, steps away from the 8 minute train ride into central Bologna. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended, and the villa will be my first on my list when I return to Bologna.
I am a retired entrepreneur in my early 60's, married, two children. A true passion for photography and traveling, I help my wife Anna in her organic farming activity (the farm is walking distance to the house). I lived in Canada for a while and love making friends from all over the world.
We bought this house when we decided to leave the busy center for something closer to our way of living, which was definitely countryside-oriented. After a short stay here we bought another house nearby - where we presently live - and passed this one onto our children. Now the children are married and moved elsewhere, so we decided to turn the house into a short-stay rental.
It was away from it all and a typical Early-1900's Bolognese country house, so we fell in love with it and its warm, family atmosphere.
