The house is tastefully decorated, very comfortable and spacious !

HIGH SATISFACTION RATINGS - Please read the reviews of previous very satisfied guests - don't just take our word for it !

AVAILABLE ALL YEAR ROUND : Unlike most self-catering holiday homes we make 'An Beannacht' available all year round and not just during the summer months. This is because our location has so much to offer for all 12 months of the year .

SPECIAL OFF PEAK RATE - if you can travel during low season ( i.e. outside of July and August) you can avail of our special off season rate of just €325 per week.

FANTASTIC BASE FROM WHICH TO EXPLORE KILDARE, DUBLIN CITY, WICKLOW AND LEINSTER ! Narraghmore is a quiet village in the middle of the lush, green County of Kildare with the attractions of Kildare, Wicklow, Carlow and Dublin within easy reach. Whether your interest is in sports, hiking, museums, shopping, exploring, water sports, sight-seeing you will be spoilt for choice in this location. The house is light filled and tastefully decorated and caters for 7 people ( bed spaces for 7 ) plus there's a cot for an infant. It's close to a shop, pub , playground etc.

GREAT LOCATION - Kildare - the thoroughbred county : There are restaurants in the locality and many more in the nearby towns of Kilcullen, Newbridge and Naas. The area is very well served by Golf Courses . It's within easy reach of Blessington Lakes ( 30 mins drive) , Kildare Village Outlet Shopping and the beautiful Wicklow Mountains and less than one hour from the Capital Dublin.

When in kildare don't forget to visit the National Stud. Not only will you find the best mares and stallions in the country but it is also home to the beautiful Japanese Gardens and St.Fiachra's Gardens. Guided tours and lakeside walks are offered to visitors who can often see mares in the meadows accompanied by their young foals. Watch out for the skeleton of Arkle in the Irish Horse Museum. This famous steeplechaser won the Cheltenham Gold Cup no less than three times. There's lots of other attractions - learn how to fit a bridle , watch videos of famous races and investigate various items of racing history. There's also various famous race tracks - T

Mondello Park - Ireland's answer to 'Top Gear' : This time it's horsepower not horses. Stop by Mondello Park - between Newbridge and Naas and get your very own 'Top Gear' experience. Try the Mazda3 starter course , the car complete with roll cage, racing seats and serious tyres. The trick is to anticipate whats coming next - move through those gears and accelerate out of those bends ! The smoother you drive - the faster you go !

You could also check out the route of the Gordon Bennett Race .

There's Blessington Lakes, the Wicklow Gap, Baltinglass Abbey, Moone High Cross, Russborough House, Glen Of Imaal and Dwyer McAllister Cottage . Also within easy reach are Altamount Gardens, in Carlow and Kilkenny City. Finally there's the vast array of quality Golf Courses all within easy reach of our location .

Some of our guests have gone as far afield as the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Tara , Killarney - the network of roadways makes it very easy to reach many famous places from our location.

Other Activities: Sight seeing, shopping, horse racing, motor racing, canals, walking, golfing.

A little bit of Antartica in Athy ! : You will have heard of the famous Antartic Explorer , Ernest Shackleton. Well he came from Kilkea , just up the road and there's a permanent exhibition dedicated to him in the Heritage Centre, Athy. This includes a scale replica of his ship 'The Endurance' plus images of the ship being crushed in pack ice 'like an almond in a chocolate bar' as one of his crewmembers described it. In the midst of it all you will find a wooden dog sledge and a delicate little wooden bird cage . Both of these unusual relics belonged to Shackleton. After braving extreme hardships he lost not one single man and is nowadays feted for his awe inspiring leadership qualities.

Wonderful Ireland - lovely people !

Review Submitted: 20 April 2013 Date of Stay: March 2013
We were lucky with the weather, cold with the wind but every day sunny. We visited Wicklow mountains with snow at the Sally Gap and the Japanese Gardens. The cottage is very comfortable and Joeanna very friendly. Thank you for everything. It was a real pleasure to be back in your wonderful Ireland and to meet so many lovely people - Thank you for all.

Thanks a lot !

Review Submitted: 20 April 2013 Date of Stay: March 2013
Sorry for my english - our stay was very nice in this comfortable cottage. The weather was "Irish" , including snow, which is probably unusual in this country. Irish people are very friendly. Nice visits in Galway, Connemara, Dublin and Kilkenny. Unfortunately we didn't get any tickets for the Ireland/France Six Nations match. Maybe we will return in two years. Thanks a lot.

We had a wonderful time !

Review Submitted: 16 August 2012 Date of Stay: July 2012
We had a wonderful time - found some great and interesting restaurants in Kilcullen. The Kildare Village Outlet is very good to pick up some designer bargains. Molly O'Looney's , the local pub was very good - people very friendly. The local shop had most things you would need to get by - people most helpful! We ent to the Wicklow Mountains - breathtaking ! The Clara Lara Fun Park was very good but remember to take a change of clothes and old shoes. We took our own picnic and had a lovely day out. Called in to see the Waterfall to finish our day. We visited Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin - lots of history and information. Thank you

Review Submitted: 16 August 2012 Date of Stay: July 2012
We stayed here while touring the Southern part of Ireland. Beautiful Country. The cottage met all of our needs. The weather was cool and rainy but ...when we left home it was 107F and extremely dry. We loved it!
