A perfect position for enjoying summer and winter activities, walking, climbing, horse riding, cycling, water sports, swimming, fishing, golf and paragliding are all on your doorstep. The Tour de France and the Marmotte touring race have made Bourg into a cycling mecca and you are ideally placed to make your way up the famous ‘21 bends’. The stunning Ecrins National Park has over 680km of way-marked trails ranging from simple walks to adventurous hikes. It is just a short stroll to the centre of the pretty village of Bourg d'Oisans. Bourg has several restaurants, cafes, a large supermarket and busy year round Saturday market. Within walking distance, communal tennis, a bouledrome and an open air pool with grass area for picnics. In the winter, ski the fantastic resorts of Alpe d'Huez (20 mins), Les 2 Alpes (30 mins) and the pretty tree lined resort of Vaujany. You are also less than an hour away from the delightful resort of Serre Chevalier.
Ski: The house is perfectly placed to experience the fantastic resort of Alpe d'Heux, one of the largest resorts in France and boasts an excellent snow record, extended season and is ideal for skiers and snowboarders of every level. Alpe d’Huez is served by 240Km of pistes with 88 inter-linked lifts. For beginners the lower slopes provide 39 confidence boosting green runs. Intermediates and snowboarders can enjoy the 32 blue runs as well as 28 more challenging reds with fantastic excursions to the satellite villages. The advanced skier will find some of the most testing terrain in France from the top of Pic Blanc at 3330mts, with 19 black runs including the longest in Europe, 'La Sarenne', and the intimidating 'Le Tunnel'. A regular ski bus picks up and returns to the village throughout the season. If you want to try a different resort then why not take a trip to the neighbouring resort of Les Deux Alps (30 mins) or the beautiful tree lined resort of Serre Chevalier?
