Skiing Two Families

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 29 February 2012 Date of Stay: February 2012
This is a beautiful chalet set amongst glorious scenery just outside of the village of Sixt Fer A Cheval.

The chalet is well equipped with all the amenities you would expect from your own home. The set out is fantastic with a large seating and dining area on the first floor and a television area on the second floor ideal for the children to unwind before bed.

The bathrooms are of a high standard and the showers are great. The bedrooms are spread over three floors allowing families to be separate. The kitchen is of a high standard with everything you will need.

All in all this is the brilliant accommodation and I hope to be able to return again soon.

Cosy winter family holiday

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 13 February 2012 Date of Stay: January 2012
This chalet is beautiful. There was great attention to detail and every comfort was met. It was perfect for a family holiday of mixed ages with different activities planned. The chalet is very homely and cosy but also spacious and modern. It is cared for and well appointed and we would recommend it to friends and family.

It is a spectacular area that we already knew and is great for skiing, ice-climbing, snowshoeing or just relaxing in the chalet with a good book and a hot chocolate whilst admiring the spectacular views.
Owner's Response: We are very pleased to hear you had a great holiday, we think you were the first to stay who have done snowshoeing and ice climbing. The Cirque Fer a Cheval is fantastic for all other Nordic sports and on our door step. The skiing this year has been fantastic!

Skiholiday with two families

Review Submitted: 13 January 2012 Date of Stay: December 2011
We really had a great time in this chalet, which is incredibly good equiped and spacious. We had quite different wheather situations, changing between sun, rain and snowstorm in the mountains, necessity to put on snow chains, we enjoyed everything. Our children managed to "survive" in France without french language knowledge, even in the snow/ski kindergarten there were no problems for the youngest. We would like to come back....

This Chalet is excellently equiped and in a lovely spot. It is a wonderful escape from city life. The first morning we were there it was snowing and a snow plough cleared up to the driveway. The kitchen is so well supplied you can be certain someone from a professional catering background has had input here. The bathrooms are modern and stylish. There is enough space to accomadete 10 comfortably and we used the chalet to full capacity. The wood burner makes the whole place toasty and we only needed it for a few hours a day.

The ski resort a samoens at 1600m has everthing needed for a first time skier. Plenty of choices of green and blue runs. The more able skiers disappeared to greater heights and had fantastis skiing. We all lunched together some days and others we met up in smaller groups.

I will ski again and would love to return with another group to this chalet.

Owner's Response: The skiing at Samoens 1600 is excellent for beginners and people to find there 'snow legs'. However can get busy at peak times so we recommend going a little further a field to either Les Carroz or Morillion where there are beautiful wide blue and red slopes. If Sixt is open the skiing there is very quite and you feel like you have the piste to yourself.

If you are into skiing you probably know how good the area is so I will just comment on this chalet.
The owners clearly like quality and comfort and this is reflected in all the fixtures and fittings. All the beds have high quality pillows, dovets, and mattresses enduring a really snuggly nights sleep. The two separate lounges make it ideal for adults and older children to have their own space.
The bathrooms are gorgeous with lots of glass panels and delicate tiling. There's loads of hot water which allowed all eleven of us the so necessary long hot shower after a full day skiing.

The chalet absorbed 11 of us so easily. We never felt on top of each other - we fitted around the dining table easily.

You won't find any cheap cups or glasses - the kitchen is full of good stuff from the state of the art salad spinner, the three coffee makers, sharpe professional quality knives and a great range if pots and pans. It's s pleasure to cook in that kitchen.

Loads of storage downstairs for ski stuff and room to dry everything.

Perfect!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: We are so glad you had a great weeks skiing and enjoyed the chalet.
