Perfect New Town base for two
A very enjoyable stay in this spacious, comfortable, well-equipped, antique-filled, upper ground-floor flat in a grand New Town house. Thanks to host Peter & property manager Anna. We'd return with pleasure on our next visit.

Excellent stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Edinburgh which was enhanced by choosing this property. The location was quiet, yet close enough to Old Town to walk to many of the can't miss sights. Communication with Peter and Anna was as good as it gets. The spacious flat is also unique in the world of vacation rentals in that you are surrounded by fine art and antiques to enjoy. We recommend it and hope to return.

Temporary accommodation during home renovations
The property is in a wonderful location - peaceful and quiet and at the same time so central, it couldn’t be more convenient. The whole process of booking and communication both at the outset and throughout my stay was seamless - Peter and his housekeeper Anna (who I met at check-in to pick up keys) are incredibly friendly and helpful. If the opportunity ever arises again, I’ll be sure to stay here again.

A beautiful flat in a lovely part of Edinburgh. Quiet and within easy reach of the city centre.
This is a lovely and very elegant flat in an excellent location in Edinburgh. It's ideal for visiting the city with many attractions within easy walking distance. Although in the city there are lovely views over adjoining gardens from the bedroom at the rear which was quiet and peaceful. The flat was clean and has a very well equipped kitchen plus a nice bath/shower room. It is furnished throughout with antiques which, although lovely to look at, I found the chairs less than comfortable to sit on. The only dining chairs had a rough hessian undercover and no covering upholstery , rather scratchy. Also a comfortable sofa to relax on at the end of a tiring day would be nice and a mirror / dressing table in the bedroom would have been useful. Apart from that a very nice apartment.

Why they chose this property

The well-regarded New Town location is close to the shops and restaurants of Broughton Street. The raised Ground Floor contains the principal rooms of the Georgian house under 13 foot ceilings. The past few years have seen a renewed interest in times gone by and I have chosen a 'Downton Abbey' theme to the furnishings and decoration using reclaimed fixtures, antique furniture and period colors.

What makes this property unique

The sunny eat-in kitchen, large dining hall, sunny studio bedroom and substantial drawing room with its two vast windows make this flat a very comfortable and versatile home. The kitchen, bath and laundry have all new appliances. Two period marble fireplaces (decorative only, not working), working window shutters and an eclectic collection of objects combine to create a unique feeling of serenity.
