EXPLORE THE HIGH COUNTRY

We invite you to join us in the beautiful Juniper Mountains of northwest Arizona. We are surrounded by working cattle ranches, pinion pines, close to ancient Native American ceremonial sites and Route 66. Experience nature and American history at The Cabin at Tumbling Rock Ranch. Also check out our fabulous reviews for our other home listed on VRBO 379349. This home is located on the same 80 acres, so the reviews will give you an idea of how special this property and area is. (Discover Tumbling Rock Ranch by visiting our website!)

Local activities include world-class hiking and visiting several nearby ancient Native American ceremonial sites with extensive walls of petroglyphs. The area is a rock hound’s delight and fossils abound.

Close to Seligman, the birthplace of Route 66, the climate is moderate, year round, with few exceptions. We are at 5800 feet elevation and though we get some beautiful snowfall a few times each season, it generally melts within a day or two.

Wildlife commonly seen include elk, deer, javalina, antelope, coyote, bobcat, and wild burros.

About Carolyn Besler

My husband and I have been savoring the beauty of the Juniper Mountains for the past 10 years. We built this cozy little cabin in 2011 and have decided to rent the cabin out after living in it very comfortably for the past year while we rented out our 3500 sq ft home located on the same 80 acre property. We have been renting (our large home) through VRBO (379349) for a year and have enjoyed a steady flow of guests from all over the country. We will still be living on the property but now have two lovely properties to offer for rent. Both homes are custom built and the setting is amazing. We have four children and seven grandchildren who live somewhat scattered along the west side of the continent. We also have our german shepherd, Kayla, border collie mix, Roxy, and papillon, Sam.

Carolyn Besler purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Carolyn Besler chose Ash Fork

It's a little piece of paradise. This property is peaceful and quiet and away from it all, but an easy drive to all the attractions.

What makes this cabin unique

You cannot beat the mountain views and year-round moderate climate, with an occasional snowfall. Always green. Always peaceful.

Back to Nature

  • 5 of 5

This little cabin was perfect for two! We were driving from the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas and it was a wonderful "part-way" place to spend some time relaxing and enjoy the quiet. Far away from everything, we enjoyed walking on their huge property, eating outdoors and a campfire and the millions of stars at night. Clean and decorated well. Would definitely stay again if we were in that part of the country again!

Cute, cozy, peaceful and remote

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is cute, cozy, quiet and remote. Views from the cabin windows are very nice however much of the immediate property has lots of construction debris, machinery and equipment scattered throughout which was not very appealing. The owners were very sweet and attentive to our needs. Our young children loved the tour of the petroglyphs and boulders with the owner. It was the highlight of our stay! The main bed has a plush queen mattress but it did give us back aches as it is sagging in the middle. We have had much luck with all natural Dunlap latex mattress. Ikea has one of the most economical options. Our children slept on the futon which was very sturdy and quite comfortable. We also enjoyed seeing so many stars at night and building camp fires. One could easily drive to see the Grand Canyon from this location.

A jewel in the Grand Canyon area!

  • 4 of 5

We rented this small cabin for 3 nights. Our intent was to use this as a base in order to explore the Grand Canyon, which we did. It was about 1 1/2 hours from the Grand Canyon. The cabin was actually perfect for my husband and me. It was clean upon our arrival and I felt like I had been prepared for what was supplied in the cabin and what I had to bring with me. It was tastefully decorated in a southern theme which was very appropriate for the locale. The owners, Don and Carolyn, were so friendly and helpful. We signed up for the Petroglyph Valley tour which Don took us on and it was amazing! Definitely consider this if you are renting from them.

Comfortable and fantastic

  • 5 of 5

We were four of us and it was my first time staying in a cabin. It was very comfortable and had almost all the amenities one would require. The property is huge and we enjoyed the fire pit one night. The owners are super nice and even offered us one more day of free stay. Unfortunately we had to leave as our flight was already booked. But, I can not wait to go back!

did want to leave

  • of 5

The owners are very polite and kind. Provided pretty much everything but the food which is what they state in the description. Great way to get away from the hustle and craziness life brings. Peaceful and quite, remote and secluded. Definitely amazing craftsmanship and great quality cabin and main house is gorgeous great for larger groups. This trip was just me and my boyfriend so the studio cabin was enough for us. Thank you too the both of you for allowing us to come and enjoy your wonderful property. Can't wait to make a trip back out there.

Cozy Christmas

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed three nights and four days at this lovely cabin over the Christmas holiday. We are two adults with two young children who took advantage of the fire pit to roast s'mores and relax in nature. The cabin was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable for the four of us, and the kids loved to run around and play outside on the property. The temperatures were really cold but the cabin was warm and cozy. The views are fantastic and one morning we woke up to cows in the yard. We took day trips to Seligman, Kingman, Williams, and the Grand Canyon, and were able to easily explore all of these areas from this cabin as home base. Don and Carolyn were absolutely fantastic, friendly hosts, and provided lots of great movie titles for us as well. We highly recommend this and we will definitely be back!
