About Kim Burton
I live in Yorkshire, England with my husband, 2 children and chocolate Labrador, Barney. We both work but love nothing more than a trip to the Scottish Highlands to escape the 'rat-race' and relax for a while. From our very first visit, we instantly fell in love with the Highlands. The scenery is beautiful and the peace and tranquility are so relaxing. We love to go out for walks with the Barney, who in turn, loves nothing more than a run in the forest and a swim in the Loch! We love it so much that we've now decided it's where we want to live, so are currently in the process of relocating to the Highlands!!
Kim Burton purchased this cottage in 2007
Why Kim Burton chose Loch Ness
We'd holidayed in the next village for a few years running and fell in love with the quiet villages on the South East side of the Loch. We noticed this property for sale whilst driving past one day and instantly loved the location, and the potential it had! It's a perfect base for us during our visits to the Highlands, and was about as near to the shore of Loch Ness as we could get! As we don't get up to the Highlands as often as we'd like, mainly due to work committments, we decided we'd like to share our home with others wanting to visit Loch Ness, so decided to rent it out as a holiday let.
What makes this cottage unique
The background 'hum' of the Falls of Foyers pouring down the hillside whilst you're snuggled up in bed, is something to treasure forever - it's such a tranquil noise, and definitely helps to have a peaceful nights sleep!! The cottage could be a million miles from anywhere due to it's location on a quiet road at the edge of the village, but is still close enough to get to the shops etc... with a quick car journey. The snow in winter is magical!!!
