Perched above Mosier Creek with a stunning view down the canyon to the Columbia River and the National Scenic Area, this property is a jewel. Recently remodeled, fresh everything, covered parking (great for assembling bikes or storing gear) modern kitchen, decks, 5 beds, all you need.
After a few decades of exploring the wilds of the world (based in Kathmandu, Nepal), I settled in this magical spot in the Columbia River Gorge. This great little hamlet of Mosier is a rare treasure. The community is rich with sports, art, music, craft beer and stunning natural beauty. No traffic, no stoplights, no parking meters! My years in Asia have influenced how the property is furnished, with beautiful old Tibetan pieces, and art.
Arlene Burns purchased this house in 2001
This property is a rare jewel within the city limits of Mosier, but surrounded by nature. It is perched above Mosier Creek (where salmon still spawn in season) and across from undeveloped open space, as well as beyond stellar views of the Columbia River and the Syncline, all part of the National Scenic Area.
Newly remodeled, everything is clean and fresh. Walking distance to Post Office. Biking distance to miles of world class road biking, mountain biking, including the old scenic highway to Hood River. Waterfront access for kayaking, windsurfing, or swimming at Mosier's Rock Creek Waterfront Park. Moments from Mosier's swimming hole, aka Pocket Park.
Located in a peaceful small town, very clean, with comfortable beds, updated bathrooms. The only negative was the noise from the highway echoes off the river. That would be the same anywhere you stay as Interstate 84 runs along the river. Very convenient location to all the sights in the area. The owner was very helpful, she answered all of our questions about the area, she is a wonderful person who has lead a very interesting life. We really enjoyed our stay in Mosier.
Our family very much enjoyed our stay in this spacious house. The property was clean and well maintained. It was perfect for our large family vacation. The location was excellent with easy access to major points of interest along the Columbia River Gorge area. It was only a 7 minute drive to Hood River which was a great town with many excellent restaurants. I highly recommend the property.
Best view of the gorge, wonderful appointments in the house, very comfortable beds with plenty of room to accommodate 6, handy location to sight see up or down the river gorge and a very friendly host who helped to make our vacation the best ever!! Thank you Arlene.
What a beautiful escape. Wonderful home in the sleepy, 400 + resident town of Mosier, OR.
Owner could not have been nicer. Plenty to do in area or just relax and enjoy the view.
Just spent the weekend in Mosier with out adult daughters and this was the perfect place to stay. The house was spacious, clean and well-equipped. Arlene, the owner, was available nearby for any needs and was gracious and helpful. The best thing about the house is the outstanding view of the Columbia Gorge. We spent most of our time on the deck mesmerized by the gorgeous river. The house has a nice central location to many events in the hood river valley. We spent one day taking the drive along the "Fruit Loop" where we enjoyed picking flowers, eating marion berry popovers and tasting wine.
The house is a great weekend getaway along the beautiful Columbia Gorge.
Our host made us immediately feel right at home. The house is in very scenic and private location. The bike rivers in our group loved the great rides right out the door. The birdwatcher in the group enjoyed the Canopy Birdwatching right from the deck. We all enjoyed a very comfortable house with a most interesting and hospitable owner!
Hope to go back soon.....
Walking distance to the post office and a vintage porsche shop. Mosier Historic Twin Tunnels Trail for great hiking or biking, Mosier Waterfront Park for windsurfing, kiteboarding, SUP, kayaking or swimming.
10 minutes to Hood River, full of great restaurants, shops, tasting rooms, grocery stores, music and action. Mt Hood and Mt Adams are nearby neighbors, just a scenic drive away... its paradise.
