Sapodilla is a self catering holiday villa situated on the south western side of the island looking out to the Caribbean Sea and within walking distance to the crystal clear waters of Grange Bay. The layout of the villas is open and airy with louvered windows which allow the refreshing sea breeze to sweep through the entire villa. There are five spacious bedrooms each with its own bathroom and four of the rooms each has an adjoining room for children, a well equipped kitchen, dining area which flows into the large living room, laundry facilities, cable television and a large rectangular swimming pool. The long covered porch spans the length of the pool and leads to the pool deck which is outfitted with lounging chairs, tables and chairs, umbrellas and ample space for sunbathing. The porch is outfitted with a dining table which can accommodate twelve persons. This villa provides the privacy for anyone seeking to unwind in a refreshing and relaxing environment, yet it is not isolated.
This villa is ideally located as most of the popular beaches such as Store Bay, Pigeon Point, Buccoo Bay, Grange Bay (walking distance), Mt. Irvine Bay and Stone Haven Bay to name a few, are within 10 minutes drive or less away. There are restaurants close to the villa offering an array of local and international cuisine. Guests at Sapodilla Villa can look forward to a quiet, peaceful and private environment in which to relax.
This was the first time I was traveling with a group of 20 for Christmas and may I say that we were all impressed with Sapodilla villa and what it offered us. It was even better than what we expected from the website. There was ample room to accommodate our large party. For those with small children the bedrooms are set up where you would have a king bed in one room with an adjacent room with two single beds for small children or other adults. Each room had a bathroom ensuite and the adjacent room (with the exception of 1 room) had an ensuite as well! The bunk room was great for the kids but I would suggest some type of safety barrier for the top bunks. Lots of seating areas to relax or engage in lively conversation. The pool was perfect for young and old. Having the sea right in our backyard with the waves crashing in was PERFECT. The kitchen was HUGE with 3 fridges to store all your drinks and leftovers. We actually hired someone to cook for us for a couple of days which was quite affordable. Miss Opal, the housekeeper was extremely pleasant and helpful in terms of guiding us as to where to shop and how to navigate throughout Tobago. The management on the whole was really helpful given a hiccup before arriving but they were quick and expeditious with a resolution so I commend them highly for that. They even called during our stay to ensure that we were happy with the accommodations and we had settled in well. The convenience market is a short 5-10 minute walk where you can get all your provisions for the duration of your stay and the prices are quite reasonable. Grange Bay is a 10-15 minute walk and the water there is very clear and was so warm! Mt. Irvine Beach is another 5 minutes from there. Quite rocky but the snorkeling was AMAZING! The locals are so friendly and nice. We also headed down to Store Bay and did the glass bottom boat tour (highly suggested) with a stop to the Nylon Pool.
PROS: location, cleanliness, views, atmosphere, absolutely no issues with cooling and lots of water, friendly staff, management responsiveness, tons of space to comfortably fit the entire family.
CONS: Gardens could have been more maintained, bathrooms could use a bit of updating without losing its charm, some minor fixes around the house needed (lamp posts in the yard, the lock for the powder room). A vacuum for Miss Opal to her job more efficiently would help.
Strongly recommend this Villa!!!! A gem!
I brought a group of 22 to Sapodilla Villa for a relaxing few days and that is exactly what it was. We had an amazingly great and wonderful time, we will never forget Sapodilla villa. The house was enchanting, inviting, warm and spacious! Exactly what you see in the pictures is what you get and so much more. Everyone enjoyed their time and wants to return someday soon! In addition to the amazing house, the pool and sea view was breathtakingly lovely, inviting, and so enjoyable! WOW! Lis our rental agent was extremely accommodating and stress relieving, she helped make our time at the villa that much more enjoyable by going the extra mile and doing whatever was in her power to help us out whenever a need occurred.... Thanks Lis! they don't come better than you! Yevonne the cook was great she made our first meal and it was delicious but not enough! We all could have done with second helpings! The rest of the staff was also great, Jennifer and Toysilyn was always on hand and ready to help but never in the way. My team and I highly recommend this villa! But pleeeease leave room on the calendar for us. We will be back! Thanks so much!
Our group of 23 loved our stay at the Sapodilla Villa. It was a perfect place to house the guests for our wedding. The villa is extremely spacious and open, with large bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen was complete with 3 refrigerators and full of everything you could possibly need. Absolutely incredible! We were so satisfied with the villa and would love to stay again. The pool and sea view were also spectacular. Very reasonably priced and perfect for large groups!
From the beginning, the friendly service of booking agent Lis Pereira was truly a joy to speak to and work along with. The maid service was also very friendly, we loved her pumpkin punch. A very clean, comfortable and safe Villa for any large family who truly wants to get away from the busy streets of Tobago. With the ocean view, clean swimming pool, large breezy deck...you can truly clear your mind and have a peace of mind. Me and my production events team will definitely be visiting again soon. Thanks Lis for all your help! :) Becky
Our family just returned from a 5 day stay at this villa, the house proved to
be everything and more than we hoped . There was ample space for our group of 20+ as we also rented the adjacent villa.
There were fruit trees on the properties with ripe zaboca, oranges and mangoes for the picking. Our housekeepers Ynold and Yvonne were very knowlegeable, friendly and welcoming. We have to give special mention to
Yvonne who provided us with a list of directions, necessary phone nos.,addresses of grocery stores, bakery, gas station, meat stores etc. This proved helpful as we had a minor incident where one of our children required immediate medical attention. We also thank Francis the caretaker
from the other villa who was kind enough to accompany us to the local emergency in the middle of the night. Lastly, we must not forget to thank
our contact Lis , Her frequent phone calls to make sure all was going
right and her attentions to all our needs were met with extreme efficiency and professionalism, from our first enquiries about this villa to the settling of all details at the end made this entire vacation a most pleasant time. Lis, we also thank you for the caring manner and great concern regarding our child's mishap. Our cook Jennifer was fabulous, her culinary skills in the kitchen was second to none, her nightly local dishes of pelau, stewed oxtail, macaroni pie,and other yummy local fare left us wanting more. Jennifer definitely has a "sweeeet hand." The villa had ample room for all, the porch/verandah that ran the length of the pool was a great place for everyone to hang out . The area on the other side of the pool was a great place to hear, see and smell the ocean while enoying your morning or evening beverages. The three fridges in the kitchen was a great bonus for a large crowd as we could designate one of them a "drinks" fridge. Our only suggestion to the owners of the villa would be to consider air conditioning the main living room area, we had a couple of rainy and still nights with not a hint of a breeze and it would have been nice to have been able to close the doors and turn on an AC, as a result we were eaten alive by the mosquitoes. In concluding this review, our enjoyment of this villa ranked highly, with the nearby Grange beach being as added bonus, this beach reminded us of Store Bay beach 30 years ago, unspoiled and uncrowded.
Hope to return someday.
Our group of 20 spent 2 nights and 3 days at the Sapodilla Villa. It was everything the owners promised and more. Spacious, luxurious and comfortable accommodations. All you need to walk with is your swimsuit and food (if necessary). Everything is within close proximity to this beautiful home, beaches, nightlife, restaurants, golf course. What more can you ask for??
Sapodilla Villa is located in a tranquil and peaceful environment in the Mt. Irvine Estate and has a wonderful view of the blue Caribbean Sea. It is close to restaurants, golf course and within walking distance to the crystal clear waters of Grange Bay and only minutes away from some of the best beaches. A visit to the world famous Nylon Pool and Buccoo Reef is a must as one can view the colourful marine life through the glass bottom boats. The island's history is well preserved in the many forts and historical sites giving details of its origin and these are also worth visiting. You can simply relax at the villa which is quite spacious and comfortable, and is constantly fed by the cool sea breeze or, experience any of the outdoor activities such as snorkeling, jet skiing, diving, scenic drives, hiking and nature walks, to name a few. Although the villa is away from the vigorous of every day life, it is not isolated. This villa is ideal for a fun loving family, large or small alike.
