Single large bedroom (double-bed) Apartment in a block of only 3 flats, situated in the hamlet of Kappara. This location is just off most of St Julians and Sliema. The Hilton, Portomaso , Paceville, main Hotel areas of St julians and Exiles side of Sliema are just 30 minutes walk away.Gzira, Manoel Island and Msida marinas are also close.

Malta University and the general Hospital (Mater Dei) only 5 minutes walk across a valley road.

The apartment is roomy but cosy and well-lit. It is fully furnished and equipped, and consists of a large bedroom, sitting room, kitchenette, large bathroom and a large private roof with extensive views up to Valletta and the harbour.

The apartment includes Air con, large TV with many channels, an internet ADSL connection ( you need your own laptop) and a washing machine. towels and linen are included.

FEELS LIKE HOME

My husband and I had a great time in Malta. We stayed for 2 weeks in this apartment but we could have stayed longer because this apartment includes everything you might need.
The bedroom and wardrobe cupbaord are very large and the whole apartment is clean and cozy. The airco in the bedroom is very fine!

It's situated in a quiet area with some bars, supermarket and busstop in 5-7 minutes walking. We liked the Coral café to eat (also take away)

The owner Ralph is very kind and helpful. He has picked us up and bring us back at the airport. (Even in the very early morning when we left..)And he showed us where we could find the supermarket , busstation and so on. He's available for any question or problem you might have.

The bus will take you to every place on the Island, but sometimes they are very crowded and very often they don't drive in time. They have a special place for a wheelchair.

In generally Malthese people are very friendly and helpful. Because of a little accident just a few weeks before we came to Malta, I was dependent on a wheelchair. The pavements in Malta are not wheelchairfriendly, to narrow and to bumpy.but the people were very helpful. Sometimes they help my husband pushing or even stop the trafic so we could cross the street!

Although we had to adapt our holiday, we've had a great time here.

GREAT APT (LOOKS BETTER THAN ON PHOTOS)

This apartment was our first experience of vacation rentals and now I`m totally against hotels. We chose the apartment by description and reviews at www.homeaway.com. Rafel, the owner of this apartment is very welcoming and extremely helpful person. Since I can talk a lot about our superb vacation there, these are key points I think can be important for you if you want to rent it:
-no prior deposit was required (saves your time and you don`t pay bank fees)
-the host suggests airport transfer (it is cool to drive right to the apartment after arrival and to find out where the closest shops, bus stops etc)
-location is very good (close to Sliema and StJuian, where is the night life and restaurants, but still is a quiet and cute residential district)
- apartment is cozy and clean (the host also brought us hairdryer and iron, which simplified our life and suitcases)
- all equipped kitchen (we liked to cook some meals at home)
- WiFi (just crucial what can I say=))

Finally, I write this review the very day I came back from Malta. Our trip was just wonderful, and the accomodation played a huge role in it. So, I recommend everyone interested to rent the apartment. I bet you will not be dissapointed!

BUSINESS STAY IN MALTA

the flat is neatly clean, rafel very helpful and reliable - he takes you around and is always available, everything you need is in the place. ca. 25 min to walk to st. julians or just take the bus (5-7 min). the street is quiet (very rare for malta). all in all i am totally satified. cheers rafel!!!

HOME AWAY FROM HOME

We had a wonderful stay here in late September for 4 nights. It was the perfect base for getting to Sliema/Valletta, an easy walk once you followed the directions given by Ralf/Diane.

We opted for the airport transfer as we were arriving late in the evening so Diane met us and gave us a little tour of the immediate area to give us our bearings (local supermarket, San Gwann main street, road to Sliema, bus stops) which was perfect as we then went to a local shop that was open til 10pm to get some groceries for breakfast the next morning.

A very large bedroom, with plenty of wardrobe space, a chest of drawers and a desk area - the pictures don't do it justice. Also the roof terrace is huge - we didn't make use of it because we were off walking and doing tours, but it would be a fantastic spot for sunbathing, and there are sunloungers to bring up onto the roof. There are lots of up-to-date brochures for activities and events in Malta, and bus timetables for every route which were really helpful.

The apartment has a lovely feel to it, like staying in the holiday home of someone you know... from the spices and cooking oil and tea/coffee... to the random assortment of towels and spare linens... and little notes pinned here and there with instructions on everything from bin days to internet password to using the washing machine.

Note: Follow the recommended route to walk into Sliema - don't make the mistake of going towards Gzira along Triq Tas-Sliema and having to cross a giant scary roundabout!
Though the restaurant at the other side of the roundabout is lovely :-)

KOOL STAY IN KAPPARA

My partner and I stayed in this apartment for a week. We arrived on Sunday afternoon and Ralf picked us up at the airport, showed us around around the immediate area and dropped us off at the apartment. The apartment was excellent, clean and well presented, with all the necessary cooking utensils, kettle, microwave etc. There was WiFi and air conditioning in the bedroom, which was essential at times.
With neither myself or my partner driving we had to rely on public transport (which I was apprehensive about), but the bus terminal was a short walk through a beautiful little grove and almost all the buses went to Valletta. The buses were standard Arriva buses with air conditioning and were not too packed (even at rush hour). Valletta city centre was vibrant and the market stalls in Merchant Street were friendly and reasonably priced.

Being a young couple we wanted to explore the local restaurants and night life a little and found that St. Julien's and Sliema had an extensive choice of both. Ralf kindly provided brochures filled with all sorts of things to do, from trips to Gozo and Commino to day trips to Sicily all of which were again reasonably price.
The people of San Gwann were welcoming and friendly, the apartment itself was located on a very quiet street just a short walk to the local shops and supermarket. The owner, Ralf, was himself warm and extremely helpful and was eager to see that we had a comfortable stay, but left us to ourselves until kindly dropping us off at the airport. All in all, we enjoyed our stay immensely and hope to go back there soon.

VERY NICE APARTMENT IN SAN GWANN

Myself and my wife arrived at the apartment on 19th May and were there for a long weekend until late on the Sunday night, the 22nd. We arrived late on the Thursday and picked the rental car up at Luqa Airport around 9:30pm, and found the apartment in about 30 minutes, albeit in the dark. Ralf's sister Diane met us there and showed us around, and kindly took us in her car for a short tour around the immediate area. The flat itself was excellent, very clean and well presented, with everything we needed, including WiFi connectivity which is always handy. The TV had adequate English language channels also. We were glad we rented a car, if somewhat expensive compared to other European destination we have visited. I would not have liked to rely on public transport, as it is always more convenient to have your own independent transport every time.

The bus service in Malta is good, although almost every bus I saw was packed solid with passengers - not my idea of stress-free travel.

I have to say that parking on Malta was a bit of a nightmare in general, which was a slight pain. Fuel prices are the same as in the UK, supermarket prices around 40 to 60 per cent higher than UK, and eating out would have been expensive if we did not shop around.

During the course of our 3 night trip we traveled the island extensively, clocking up 350km in total, and Mdena is a must-see. We also spent the Saturday on the island off Gozo with the car (21 euros for both of us and the car). It's only a short hop - around 40 minutes on the car ferry. Apart from Victoria, the capital, Gozo appeared to be shut! All the wee villages we visited were deserted.

To finish off this review, the property is well recommended, and the owners, Ralf & Diane were extremely helpful, and we will be back in March or April 2012 for another trip, all being well.
