Southwold is a pretty unspolit seaside town situated on the Suffolk Heritage Coast . It has a beautiful long sandy beach which is adorned by colourful beach huts, a working lighthouse, harbour and stylish pier. The unique town consists mainly of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian properties and has lovely open green areas. Shops range from a quality butchers, greengrocers, delicatessen to chic boutique shops and art galleries. There is a good choice of hotels and restaurants and local pubs which sell the locally brewed Adnams Ales.
The area is great for walking or cycling with miles of footpaths and quiet roads and tracks to cycle along. There are a couple of cycle hire shops in Southwold which stock bikes of all sizes. The footbridge or hand rowed ferry crosses the estuary near the harbour to the pretty village of Walberswick which has a couple of pubs, shops, a cafe and a lovely sandy beach.
