Enjoy beautiful breezes among the coconut trees on this fabulous property directly on the beach and the most spectacular sunsets I have ever seen! Sleep with the soothing sound of the ocean waves. Downstairs has three bedrooms and a kitchen and bathroom and so does upstairs with a separate entrance and patio. There is also an outdoor bathroom and shower and laundry room. Guests who rent the whole house have exclusive use of the entire property. Otherwise there is plenty of room to share. There is normally a very sweet resident cat so if that is an issue I need to know upon request so I can organize to take him somewhere else.
My husband and I celebrated our 50th anniversary with a family trip to Puerto Rico.
This lovely home was perfect for our family vacation. It was in the perfect location, very clean and provided with everything we needed for our large family of 14. We were 7 adults and 7 children (ages 5 to 72 ) It's location on a beautiful Beach very close to town but far enough away that you get that sense of being away from it all. The beach is something off a postcard - palm trees, sunsets, etc.... and you usually have it all to yourself! We spent part of each day swimming, body surfing and snorkeling. The house is bigger than we expected. Each bedroom is a decent size as are both bathrooms, but it is the yard and patio areas that provided more than enough seating for all. We cooked or BBQed every day and all you will need is right there for you. The fenced in yard is perfect for small children and you could walk out of the yard and onto the beach. There is and outside bathroom and shower perfect for cleaning up after a swim. We loved the house!
The owner Nanda is friendly and helpful, and she made the rental process convenient and efficient. Her repersentative Yevette in Aguada was available at any time to answer questions and welcome us. The resident cat, Nickolai is no trouble and he watches over the property and you are his welcome guests. You are in luck if stay in this appealing and restful home
Do you want to wake up every morning to the sound of waves gently crashing on the shore? Or visit one of the most beautiful and relaxing places in the world? Maybe you just want catch some gnarly waves on your surfboard and soak up the sun in your speedo? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then Nanda’s Beach House is the perfect place for you!
I stayed with a group of friends at Nanda’s place for five days in February 2014 and we met Nanda on our first day – she was really chill and helpful. You could tell she really cared and wanted us to have the best time ever. The house fit 14 of us comfortably and Nanda helped us locate an extra apartment next door for a couple more people.
But let’s be honest, you’re not visiting ‘Rico to hang out inside and that’s where Nanda’s house really stands out. It’s situated perfectly on the beach between Rincon and Aguadilla – seriously you could not ask for a better location or layout in a vacation rental. The lawn is a huge with plenty of beach chairs for everyone, a hammock fit for a king, and so much room for activities like coconut bocce, touch football, and tossin' the frisbee around (respectfully). We spent our days relaxing in the sun, swimming in the ocean, and basically having the best time of our lives.
In the eats department there are a couple a good places to go within walking distance and the Selecto grocery store is nearby. We prepared a number of meals on the grill outside. At the end of Nanda’s street is a roadside barbeque that serves up delicious bold flavors including some of the best ribs you’ll find anywhere (so decadent). They run out before noon usually so get there early. Guyabo’s Tropical Sunset is a short walk north up the beach and has good food and also a fun bar atmosphere at night.
Sunsets at Nanda’s were amazing every night. Walking five minutes down the beach to the south will give you one of the best sunset views you can imagine. Don’t forget to bring some cold ones with you to complete the experience. One day we drove out the San Sebastian Waterfalls – only a 30 minute drive from Nanda’s house. I highly recommend making this trip. Nicholi the cat, who we nicknamed Catner, was a good companion throughout out stay. He usually took off in the morning for his adventures and came back around sunset to make sure we were all staying out of trouble. We left some custom koozies at the house for future guests to enjoy a cold one out of.
This is a lovely, well-cared for home, you sense it as soon as you come through the gate. It is peaceful, right on the beach (private beach). Coconut palms all around, a plantane growing in the back, lush green grass, comfortable seating, and plenty of covered spaces if you get a little Carribbean rain, you don't need to stay indoors. The house is elegantly but simply furnished--it's not huge, but somehow feels spacious--good light, and always a breeze flowing through! This property has a wonderful feel--can't quite explain, but any tension or stress just seems to flow right out of you! Hopefully, you'll get to meet Nanda--she is a perfect hostess and will make sure you're comfortable in every way. My husband and I have rented many places through VRBO. This may be the very nicest!
Nanda's Guayabo Beach House was the perfect spot to take over the first floor and fill it with friends for a 5 day celebration! Turning 60 is serious and the celebration site had to be special....it was that and more! The house is sunny, airy, comfortable (500 count white cotton sheets) and filled with the sound of Puerto Rico -- waves, surf, birds and coqui -- seriously, I made a recording one for day/ one for nite to keep on my cellphone. Access to the beach is just a couple of steps from the ample backyard - one morning the lawn was filled with people doing yoga (mats provided for all) and health conscious people will want to know that the quality of the wheatgrass in this area is truly sweet, not a bitter note. The barbaqua pit is under an arbor outfitted with a picnic table - perfect for a cool beer, jokes and laughter - or a quiet game of dominoes. Having use of a kitchen was wonderful and a real budget boost - we traveled to the local farmers markets and loaded up on local coffee, the freshest avocados, plantain, aji dulce, recao and cilantro for the best salads and arroz.
The center of Aguada was only 10 minutes away and had the charm of a small typical barrio of PR warm and open hearted people everywhere you went. The first nite we were treated to GABA Art Gallery full of art and crafts made by Puerto Rican artists (some very well known) - Nayda Bonet the gallery owner was not only gracious but a true art historian - the unique aspect is that there is a coffee bar in the lobby and tables and chairs outside so people are invited to linger. At a different craft shop we filled up bags with battery powered feathered Roosters, beautifully made leather flip flops and of course t-shirts as mementos. Close by Aguada are towns you must not miss: Moca for the tradition of Mundillo Lacemaking (the master lacemakers were demonstrating and selling the textiles) and the Casa de Morena on the hill of a former plantation; all of the towns heading along the west coast to the southernmost tip including Cabo Rojo and Rincon for the fabulous beaches, seafood restaurants and nitelife.
It was an unplanned thing, but we each brought one seashell or rock from our last walk on the beach and placed it onto the veranda table as an offering - a spontaneous piece of art that we took a picture of for that final lasting memory. Go and experience this place - blessings will come.
I met Nanda at an art cafe one evening in Aguada. I spent two evenings at the beach house and enjoyed the bright sunny space inside and outside. If you a writer or an artist, this place gives you a space to delve deeper into your creative spirit. It's ideal for personal retreat and renewal where the beach is outside your window and the sounds of nature plays endlessly.
One of the best places to go to relax, listen to the gently pounding waves, and enjoy the hospitality of the island. There is no need to go anywhere else - I could have just stayed right here and not left until I had to go back to the airport. I appreciated that I could walk out the door and walk for several miles along a quiet, scenic beach. No hotels or condos along the beach with masses of people. Local restaurants are within walking distance. The photos did not do justice to the place - it is much prettier in person. I am looking forward to going back!
