2 bedrooms, sleeps 4, 10 minutes from market village of Lorgues

The apartment is on the ground floor of a traditional farmhouse, set in the idyllic surroundings of vineyards and rolling countryside. There is two and a half acres of paddock, an 8 x 4 meter pool with fence, and shady areas for lazing in the sun.

There is a large stone terrace with dinning table and chairs for the balmy summer nights, and a more sheltered table under the trees of the back garden, which has a lawn that reaches into the vineyards beyond.

There are two bedrooms, one with large double bed the other two single beds, one bathroom tiled with shower, toilet, jet bath and sink, access to bathroom is through second bedroom. Large kitchen and full kitchen facilities.

Great cycling, walking, swimming, local markets and breath taking views.

Sight seeing: Our local area is full of interesting and beautiful sights to see, from historic buildings for example L'Abaye de Thoronet which is not only maginificent in itself, but also has wonderful musical soirees, then of course there are the vineyard and the wine tasting, most of the vinyards have art exhibitions during the summer, so each trip is an interesting one. We have beautiful streams and rivers, plunge pools and canoeing on the river Argens. Amazing waterfalls at Seillans en Cascade. The famous ceramic tiles of Salernes are a must to see the potteries are such fun. ou can white water raft at Castellane, laze by the lake at the lac St Croix and canoe or pedallo up and down the Gorges du Verdon, one of the most fantastic places nearby.

Then there are the beaches, not far only 35 minutes, the sea is warm and the beaches are sand and pebble. There are great coastal walks, around St Tropez and amazing beaches near to le Lavandou. You will never be bored there is so much to see and do.

Art and Food: Tessa Nelson is both a professional chef and artist, she teaches cooking and painting, and if you are interested in a prvencale cookery lesson or a watercolour lesson in the garden please ask in advance of your stay here and it can be arranged.

A wonderful bit of Heaven

This is our second stay with David and Tessa, we had vowed we would return and it was just a great as before, homely and comfortable. the views over the vinyards are beautiful and there is lots to explore in this part of the Var. We hope to come back soon.

Authentic French countryside

We enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment is spacious and makes you feel at home at once. The owners are very nice and helpful. Beautiful medieval villages nearby (Lorgues, Aups, Cotignac). The farmhouse is also ideally situated for a daytrip to the spectacular Gorges du Verdon. I would recommed this place for people who enjoy authentic French country living, but not for people seeking luxury.

Rustic charm

This is a lovely, old farmhouse, set quietly between vineyards, where children can roam freely, swimming in the pool, chasing chickens or just making friends with the faithful Labrador. Adults too can enjoy the peaceful serenity (children permitting of course!) David and Tess are excellent hosts, mindful of your privacy should you desire it, but attentive and very welcoming. Nearby Lorgues is a pretty town, full of character and with the best market in the area and the surrounding countryside provides a range of activities from canoeing to wine tasting, to cater for all family tastes. If you’re seeking a piece of old-fashioned, rustic France, unmanicured, relaxed and charmingly artistic (Tessa’s beautiful paintings line the walls of the farmhouse), this is for you.

Holiday in Provence

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lorges. Tess and David made us very welcome and were very helpful in giving us practical advice for places to visit, eat and dine. The cottage was very traditional in it's style and true to the photo's. The children especially enjoyed the swimming pool and the chickens that roam the garden. It is close to the town, but far enough away to be very peaceful. We would recommend it to others for a relaxing holiday in Provence.

Couldnt have asked for more.

We have had 3 amazing weeks in this little piece of heaven.  We are a family with 2 small children under 4 and it was perfect.  Loads of safe space for the kids to run about. There is an area at the back of the house we used as a sandpit.  The pool is totally fenced and safe.  It has an area that provides shallow steps for the kids to play in the water and a lovely shaded area for them to amuse themselves while you can sunbathe and swim.  The house is lovely and cool and has all the essentials required for a perfect holiday, and yet provides all the modern essentials such as wifii and tv (with access to uk tv). The setting is stunning, looking out over the vines one side, and the other a rustic country setting complete with two very friendly chickens.

Ruhig gelegen in ländlicher Idylle

Wir haben zwei Wochen in dem alten, charmanten Häuschen bei Tessa und David verbracht und uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Die Vermieter samt ihrer beiden Hunde wohnen im Obergeschoss und sind bei jeder Frage und jedem Problem zur Stelle - und entschuldigen sich, wenn sie nur mal vor dem Haus den Garten im Sichtfeld der Urlauber wässern ;-)
Die Wohnung bietet alles, was man für den Urlaub braucht: totale Ruhe, schöne Sitzgelegenheiten für die obligatorischen Rotweinabende, einen Pool zum Abkühlen. Dazu sind alle praktischen Dinge (Wasch- und Geschirrspülmaschine, TV, WLAN) vor Ort sowie Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants im 4 km entfernten Lorgues vorhanden.
Der schöne Flecken Erde kommt definitiv auf die sehr kleine Liste der Orte, an die wir irgendwann einmal wieder zurückkehren möchten.

The farmhouse is surrounded by vinyards and wine chateau's well worth visiting and tasting our local wine, Straight across the road from us is the Chateau L'Arnaude,. Lorgues our local medieval village, famous for it's wonderfull market and it's Knight Templars church, is fun and friendly. Les Arcs, is a beautiful walled medeival village, cobbled streets and memories of ancient times. The Gorges du Verdon, spectacular to behold and worth visitng. Saint Tropez and it's night clubs and fun way of life, buzzes in the hot summer sun. Great Restuarants including Bruno's renowned truffle restaurant is just down the road. Cycling, swimming, hiking, walking, visiting the Frejus Zoo or the Roman Amphi theatre there. there is so much to do and see, or of course you can just relax by the pool at home. The property is perfectly located for exploring Provence, located half way between Aix-en-Provence and Monte Carlo.
