Lovely apartment v close to centre of town

  • 5 out of 5
We stayed at this apartment (family of 4 with 2 children aged 7&9) for 10 days in August 2013. Lovely place, all the essentials needed. Rafael was very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely go back and recommend this as an excellent base to explore this part of the lovely island.

Very nice accomodation in centre of Pollenca.

  • 5 out of 5
The accomodation met our expectations entirely. The apartment is very well appointed with everything we required for our stay. The apartment is located very close to the main square in Pollensa but it is also quiet and peaceful.
The use of the basement car park is good, expecially on Market days but the car park is quite tight to manoeuvre in (especially if you have a large car). The owner was very welcoming on arrival.
Overall, we were very happy with the apartment and would not hesitate to recommend to others.

A happy week being in the "Blue"

A happy week being in the "Blue"
  • 5 out of 5
Booked the "Blue Apartment" for a week in August for two adults and two children (aged 7 and 10 - do I really need to mention I'm 40?!). Fantastic location just off the main square in Old Pollensa. Have stayed in the Port in Pollensa before but preferred the atmosphere of the old town in the evening. Hired a car, so trips to the beach were easy. There is underground parking included in the rental but the space is tight. The weather was very hot during our stay but the apartment had excellent air conditioning and it was good to come home to relax on the comfy couch with a glass of wine -there is a small terrace with a dining table & chairs that looks out towards the mountains if you wanted to drink your wine outdoors! There is a small supermarket close by and a bakery just outside the front door and the apartment if very well equipped if you wanted to dine at home but the local cafes and restaurants were too much of a draw for us. I'd recommend some homemake almond icecream at the local bar if you can get your hands on some. Overall our experience was a very pleasant one and our booking was handled with great care and efficiency. Would love to go back. Who knows, we might get to experience a different colour next time.

comfortable apartment in the city

  • 5 out of 5
We stayed for 1 week in the apartment and had a good time.
The place is in the center of the city whit all the needs around the corner, bakery, supermarket, restaurants and so on.
Also the private parking is splendid, but take no big car!
The apartment is well equiped en modern.
The balcony has a little view but is cosy.
It was our second time in Pollenca and we like the town, its not to touristic but very living in the evening.
The owner is helpfull en personly welcomes you.

Great place to stay: Prop.428166 - Apartment Blue

  • 5 out of 5
In regard to our 4th stay in Pollenca, and our 1st with Rafel, we had another great holiday. The apartment was very clean/modern and loads of air-con if you wanted it. The location was very close to the main square, plus you had underground parking - especially if you are staying at peak times. You are very close to small local bakeries, local fresh fruit & veg, the central Eroski supermarket, plus many other wee local bars/cafes, plus, a fantastic wee ice cream parlour.
Rafel was the perfect host, and nothing was a problem - from any questions that you may have along the way, through to being very relaxed about making sure that you 'enjoy' the apartment.
I would have no hesitation recommending the apartment, and in particular, Rafel as your host.
We will be going back & enjoying Pollenca. :-)

Two weeks ar Rafel's

Two weeks ar Rafel's
  • 5 out of 5
My wife and I have holidayed, annually, for many years in Puerto Pollensa, at first in hotels and latterly in apartments. However, long ago, we fell in love with Pollensa old town, and kept saying we should stay there one year. This summer we took the plunge, and booked the Blue Apartment, via the Internet, for the last week in July, first in August.
Two good decisions! Life in the lively town couldn't have been more fun, and the large, modern apartment couldn't have been more comfortable and easy to live in.
It has one double bedroom, and one other with a kangaroo bed, which would also sleep two at a push. The spacious lounge-cum-dining room has a large, L-shaped sofa, widescreen TV and dining table, with an integral, well-kitted-out kitchen. Large sliding windows look down to the quiet street. The quality bathroom/shower is all you would expect. Both bedrooms have single doors that open onto a small terrace, which is big enough to accommodate two loungers and a dining table. The views from here are of the Pollensa roof-scape, the main church, the Calvary hill and mountains beyond. In the foreground, the terrace looks down to the backyard of the local police station, which features plenty of mysterious comings and goings which may be of interest to the amateur sleuth. Anything else? There is a private laundry room allocated to the flat. It's on the ground floor. There's secure parking in the basement, if you have a car. Plus, hooray, it is fully air-conditioned.
That's a bare description of the Blue Apartment, but what makes it especially appealing is the fresh white decor (this flat is spanking new), the modern furniture, and such personal touches as the pictures in all rooms, tastefully chosen by the very friendly owners, Rafel and Pilar(?).
When Micha tripped down a couple of stairs (no drink was involved), Rafel even took us into the hospital in Alcudia and, with him on hand to talk to the staff there, what could have been an ordeal was made bearable.
The apartment's location in Pollensa is also A1. Plenty of shops and cafes are at hand, the bus stop and taxi rank are just five minutes on foot, and the main square, with all its restaurants and activities, is only two minutes away.
All in all, we had a great holiday in Pollensa this year, and it was the apartment which made it special.
PS I was reluctant to write this review because I didn't want anyone else to get wind of the Blue Apartment. However, Rafel kept badgering me, so here it is.

Car: not necessary

Pollensa is a peaceful and tranquil town that remains very typically Spanish. It is four miles from the coast, nestling between two hills at the eastern end of the Sierra Tramuntana mountains. Pollensa itself is indisputably pretty. Historic buildings with ochre roofs, sun-backed walls and wooden shutters line the narrow and twisting medieval streets. There are pastel-painted houses in the centre and Moorish water mills on the outskirts. It is also a haven of sleepy Mallorcan traditions - cafe life and the siesta roll on here as they always have. The heart of the old town is the central square, Placa Major, where there are many cafe-bars and fine restaurants. Pollensa also has lots of galleries of Mallorcan art and design, and town museum. The most famous walk in Pollensa is up the 365 steps of the tree lined 'Calvario' - the Calvario Hill. There is a tiny church at the top with amazing views over the town and across wooded valleys to the sea.

Other Activities: Trecking

Golf: One mile to Pollensa’s Golf Course. It opened in 1986 and was completely renovated in 2000. The greens are kept in perfect condition. There are two lakes and lots of native vegetation, especially trees, olive trees and pines. Pollensa Golf Club offers a host of activities and services, including a driving range with putting green and launch area, a golf school with professional golf lessons. The course has nine holes, medium difficulty, and is ideal for all players. The other near by golf course is the Alcanada Golf Club, which is seven miles away. It opened in 2003, and was designed by Robert the sea.Trent Jones Junior. The highlight of the design of the course are the views of the bay of Alcudia. Alcanada Golf Club is the only golf course in Mallorca which is next to the sea
