Overview

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Bruges (Brugge) - Lady Lace

3 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sleeps in beds 4; maximum 6

Holiday Rental Home 'Lady Lace' is a beautiful 17th century house located in the heart of Bruges. It is a three level house with a total of 110 square meters living area. The facade is built in the traditional step-gable style that is typical of the finest Flemish Renaissance homes. It is completely renovated, furnished and equipped for your comfort. The interior, with original oak structure, is very cozy. Located in the peaceful Ezelstraat quarter, it is a five minute walk to Market square and the Belfry Tower. This city has a ideal mix of ancient buildings, canals, museums, cobblestone streets and charming little squares.

The name 'Lady Lace' has been elected for the lace makings manufactured by the owner herself in reference to Bruges. You will love this relaxing resort and immediately feel at home.

A 'House Book' in the house contains much information on local shops, restaurants, history and sights.

“We wish you a pleasant stay in a magnificent Bruges!”

About Bruges: A little community was established between the 7th and the 9 th century on the shores of 'Zwin'. The first habitants who sought shelter there called it 'Bryggia'. The town developed around the fortress called 'Burg' (Borough) that the Counts of Flandres had built there. The town soon became an important trade centre, thanks to its communication with the sea. Its ancient architecture brought priceless elements to the European artistic patrimony. In museums, everyone admired the paintings of the Flemish primitives. In the 15th century, a Bruges school of painting developed under the protection of the Dukes of Burgundy which counts many brilliant masters: Jan Van Eyck, Hans Memling, Hugo van der Goes. Lancelot Blondeel and Pieter Pourbus are the most well known artists of the renaissance.Since the end of the Middle-Adges, Bruges lace is world-famous.

The presents of canals in Bruges gives the town a mild character.

Perfect home in Bruges centre

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect place to stay in Bruges. It is full of local character and in a great location. Marie Christine made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived and gave us lots if information about local attractions. There was also a folder which provided us with everything we needed to know to enjoy our stay. The house was beautiful and well equipped so we enjoyed cooking for ourselves as we'll as eating out.

We loved the horse and carriage ride round Bruges centre and the canal trip. Our favourite eating place was Ribs and Beer which is just over the road especially the chocolate and beer ribs!

Great Christmas break.

  • 5 of 5

Had a short break before Christmas in this wonderful old house. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful, they met us at the property and showed us where i=to park our car for free 10 minutes walk from the property. The property had everything we needed, very clean and comfortable, 5 - 10 minutes walk to main square, close to shops and restaurants, supermarkets within a 2 minute walk. We would highly recommend this property, thank you very much Francis and Marie for a wonderful stay.

Lady Lace - the perfect place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

The minute we walked into this cozy, warm, welcoming house it felt like home. The owner Francis was charming and extremely helpful, and to be treated to complimentary Belgium chocalates and beer on our arrival was a lovely touch. The location is great and very well placed for exploring the beautiful city of Bruges. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend Lady Lace to family and friends.

Beautiful Brugge home away from home

  • 5 of 5

This charming and well maintained home was one of the highlights of our european trip.

We stayed for a total of eight nights and could have stayed longer time permitting. Our host Marie met us upon arrival and couldn't be more charming and informative about explaining the house and various pertinent info about the surrounding area and things to do. The house is step back in time creaking floors and all and very well maintained. The location is perfect as it is out of the tourist district but close enough to walk to all the important sights in a matter of minutes. What a great time we had both in Brugge and the house and would go back in an instant. If you go ask Marie to direct you to the Jerusalem Chapel an out of the way gem but a must if your interested in the history of Brugge.

Charming, well maintained, a real part of the Bruges experience!

  • 4 of 5

We were two couples at the end of a 7 day bike/barge tour from Amsterdam and Lady Lace was just what we needed to kick back, relax and get the best of what Bruges had to offer. It started with a nice selection of fine Belgian chocolates and some awesome Belgian beer! A charming old house located within a couple of minutes of the main square with all the modern conveniences. This 18th century house has been lovingly maintained. The beds are comfortable, the living room/dining room are very cosy and the house exudes old world charm. The only minor annoyance (which I think Francois is fixing) is the squeakiness of the floors on the second level. Going to the loo in the night could wake everyone. Still one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend it.
