The famous Princes Street is within a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute bus ride from easily accessible bus stops at the Foot of Leith Walk (Bus to town £1.30 single or an all day pass is £ 3.50).

From Prince's Street there is easy access to: Waverley Station, Castle, Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace, Museums & all tourist attractions & universities

Nearest local pub: The Bowlers Rest, a locals pub, full of friendly Leith people and with a choice of over 50 scotch whiskies ! is only 50 paces from the flat front door.

Having said that, the flat, on the first floor is secure and quiet and lovely and warm !

To the front is a cobbled street (called setts in Scotland) and to the rear there are private gardens with parking for the flat available to either the front or rear.

Opposite the flat is Georgian Antiques with 4 floors of antiques - I bet you have never seen so many grandfather clocks in one place !

Behind that is Leith Links - where the game of Golf (or Kolf) was invented and there is still 9 holes to go round !

All of this is available to you......just go and join in and enjoy it !

Local and International Sport: Edinburgh is home to International Rugby Union in Scotland and games are played at Murrayfield stadium to the West side of Edinburgh city centre.

The flat has availability for rugby fans for the 3 weekends in November for the Autumn tests & for 6 Nations Rugby.

The owner is an avid rugby union fan and would be pleased to assist with bookings for games and possibly the supply of tickets to bona fide and responsible club fans.

Also there are two Edinburgh football teams, Hibernian (Hibs) based in Leith approx 1 mile from the flat and also Heart of Midlothian (Hearts) based in Gorgie near the rugby stadium.

I grew up in Glasgow & Edinburgh and my daughter is at Edinburgh University - so we use the apartment as a 'home from home' to go and visit as we now live over 5 hours away in Sheffield in England.

Stuart Carmichael purchased this apartment in 2007

The whole area is vibrant and developing despite the recession and the local people are all so friendly - we couldn't resist Leith !

It has bars and bistros and cosy pubs and 'posh' restaurants but also takeaways and local shops and national supermarkets.

The apartment is relatively new - less than 15 years old - and was in a quiet location with grass, trees and free parking to the front and rear.

It just seems ideal for local living or popping upto town.

ABSOLUTELY LOVELY SPACIOUS APARTMENT

Such a lovely apartment with everything you could need. There were 5 of us (23-25 year olds) staying and there was more than enough space. The place is kitted out with everything you could need - including golf clubs and impressive collection of films! We came to Edinburgh for the sightseeing but you could easily spend a few days cosied up in the apartment.

It was our first time in Edinburgh and we have fallen in love, amazing sights, plenty to do and see. Apartment is in Leith which is really sweet and a 20-ish minute walk into the centre of Edinburgh.

Stuart was extremely helpful and accomodating, even posting the keys to my home address as we were due to arrive late at night. An extra bed was added for our 5th member, he assured me it was the comfiest bed he had slept in for a long time! An extra dining chair was even added and the whole place was spotless when we arrived.

Couldn't give Stuart or the apartment higher praise, it was just what we were looking for and booking was completely stress-free.

Would definitely visit again.

COZY, WELL-OUTFITTED SPOT IN LEITH

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this apartment and would absolutely stay again. Very comfortable both in space and in creature comforts, it was perfect for our girls' weekend- two of us visiting from the US to spend time with a friend who has moved Scotland. We were stunned at how exceptionally quiet the place was- not a sound at night- yet so perfectly in and adjacent to Leith 'town' and the Shore- was our favorite part of Edinburgh for sure. Great time, great spot, great host. Thank you, Ian!

SPACIOUS, COMFORTABLE FLAT IN GOOD LOCATION.

The flat was very comfortable for 4 adults, fully equipped and absolutely spotless. It is in a great location, with many restaurants and pubs in leith. There is ample free parking at the flat which is a real plus. Edinburgh and all it's attractions is easily accessible by bus, taxi or an interesting walk along the water of leith or up the leith walk. We would all recommend this flat to anybody and hope to stay again.

FANTASTIC ACCOMMODATION AND A GREAT WEEKEND

The property is lovely, completely spotless and had everything we needed. The flat is spacious, modern and comfortable. After a long trip up from Brighton, it was great to feel at home straight away. Stuart was extremely helpful and there is lots of information in the flat about the local area, places to eat and things to do.
Edinburgh never fails to disappoint, and the visit was made better by staying in such welcoming accommodation with easy access to all areas of the city.

NEW YEAR, GREAT PLACE TO STAY AND EXPLORE

Stayed and celebrated 2013/14 Hogmanay in Edinburgh. The apartment is well appointed with parking and is ideally situated in a safe and pleasant area, it is very comfortable and has everything you need for a great stay, much better than staying in a hotel. Lots of very good restaurants nearby, Britannia tourist attraction within walking distance and local bus stops just around the corner. All communications with Stuart the owner were clear and concise. Highly recommended and would definitely stay again when visiting Edinburgh

A COSY BASE FOR XMAS CELEBRATIONS

We stayed for 2 nights over Xmas for family celebrations and we were so glad we booked this apartment rather than a hotel. It was perfect for the four of us - very comfortable with spacious clean bedrooms, a good size lounge area and a well-equipped kitchen with everything you could need. The en suite master room plus twin room and second bathroom/shower room meant no queuing in the morning and although it took us a while to work out the heating system, once we cracked it the apartment was very warm and comfortable despite the wild gales outside. Easy parking nearby is a bonus and Leith itself is worth an explore with many good local eateries and pubs. We would definitely stay again and can certainly recommend this property.

This bright, safe, comfortable, first floor flat is on a quiet cobbled back street (known as setts in Scotland) with easy private resident parking outside.

450m to Edinburgh cosmopolitan waterfront known as 'The Shore' with loads of trendy bars, cafes, bistros, pubs & restaurants.

Across the park (400m) is a large supermarket & there is a local shop within 200 metres for bread, milk, chocolate & anything else you may need.

Approx. 1 mile away is the Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre & the Royal Yacht Britannia is berthed there.

5 minutes on a bus or a 20 minute walk up Leith Walk (depending how long you linger to look in all the shop windows on the way - or visit any of the 30 or so bars you will pass by) is Princes Street & the Castle & all of the City of Edinburgh attractions.

Other Activities: Rugby at Murrayfield Stadium and Football at Hibernian or Hearts the two Edinburgh Clubs

Golf: Craigentinny a public course is nearby only a couple of miles away. Good course - fairly flat but with some challenging holes and hills.

Ski: Man made ski slope at Penicuick can be seen from nearby and attracts many folk from near and far.

Notes:
There are 2 sets of golf clubs in the apartment including trollies, brollies and balls and tees. (Municipal course (Craigentinny - good and fairly flat too !) within approx. 1 mile £ 39.00 for two persons for 18 holes ie approx £ 20.00 each. There are 4 x bikes in our own bike store to the rear of the property. Clothes can be dried in the hallway on the hidden/ retractable clothes line or placed in the very warm boiler room in the hallway area. Brollies are stored there too - for when the weather isn't too kind - or borrow the golf brollies. Loads of info on things to do and places to go - you should never be bored !
