Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-3)

This sweet coach house has a balcony double-size bedroom overlooking a lovely alcove lit sitting room with a stove, a TV, a sofa, and a single bed. Beside this is a kitchen including a refrigerator/freezer, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, and oven. Through the next door is the bathroom complete with a widely spaced shower.

A sandy tidal beach lies just a short minute's walk away and offers a tranquil swim, a rugged coastline climb, or just a wander around the beach.

The surrounding countryside is dotted with small colourful towns and villages, which provide a range of food from irish pub grub to high restaurant quality standard.

Clonakilty, the home of Michael Collins, is just seven miles from the cottage and has a wide variety of delicious restaurants and in particular a traditional Irish pub where many renowned and lively bands play most nights, De Barra's. There is also a hotel and spa in Incheydoney with an indoor sea water pool and a thalassic health spa.

Bandon and Lisselan offer great golf clubs - Bandon (18 holes) and Lisselan (six holes). Bandon also has fishing on the sea trout and salmon river, day passes are available from Michael O'Reagan. Also Kilcoleman fishery is well worth the day. Contact David Lamb.

Kinsale, a lively harbouring town, is 23 miles and well worth the trip. Be it during the day for some sightseeing (from 17th century forts to rugged walks along the headlands kinsale is a haven for tourists)or by night for an uplifting irish experience, lively pubs host some excellent bands. Toddies restaurant is a fantastic and atmospheric place to relax after a day of rambling. The food and wine is superb and never fails to please.

Courtmacsherry is five miles away and has sailing, riding, sea fishing, and windsurfing facilities along the beautiful strand. The nearest shop is two-and-one-half miles away and is a big Co-Op. And the nearest pub is one-half mile away.

Kilbrittan, a 20 minute drive from the coach house hosts a fabulous restaurant, Casino house, well worth a visit.

For extra accommodation, we also rent out a cottage which sleeps seven. It has three bedrooms... all with king-size beds and one with an extra single bed as well. It has an open plan sitting room/kitchen and dining area. One of the bedrooms has a balcony which leads down into the garden. There is also a herb garden in this available for your use.

Best Views..and Relaxation ever!!

  • 5 out of 5
My boyfriend and I stay in the Coach house for almost two weeks and had the best time there... Wonderful hosts and accomadations..It felt just like being at home each day. Lots of things to do and its not far from bars and attractions around Ireland. We really enjoyed sitting by the fire each night and just soaking in our surroundings. The dogs would follow us down to the beach and they ended up being our own little tour guides down there..lol. We will for sure be back in the future. Thanks again

Awesome Honeymoon Location

  • 5 out of 5
I know I'm about a year late, but I was just reminiscing about our honeymoon in August/September of 2013. We were looking for a little Irish culture, not to stay in a hotel in town. We found the cottage to be exactly as it was listed. A quaint stone cottage away from it all. Although we did a lot of driving around to other locations during our 10 day visit, this place was awesome to come "home" to. The location, a short walk from a beautiful beach was remarkable as well. We couldn't have asked for a better time. Thank you Gilly and Richard for a very pleasant stay.

ruined honeymoon

  • 1 out of 5
We arrived for our honeymoonon a monday evening. Soon as i walked through the door my heart sank. The cottage is run down wasnt cleaned(not to my standards). There were spider webs all over the bathroom, the whole cottage was full of flies and bugs crawling inside the bedsheets. By wednesday i had decided to leave but was convinced to give it a few more days reluctantly i did but by friday morning i had all i could take and we left with no other accomidations. The owners of the cottage were sweet and very welcoming. But it feels like we were visiting a third world country.. We will never return to ireland our honeymoon was ruined from this experience

Owner's Response: When Tammy and her sweet husband arrived, she was in tears about missing her 10 year old boy,who remained in Canada, with her mother. She wanted to fly back to Canada after 2 days. Her husband (who has been her partner for years) was sweet, kind, patient and gentle, dealing with her mood swings and fluctuating emotions. Her behaviour seemed irrational and hormonal.
I got the impression that Tammy does not like the country and would have been far happier staying in an hotel in a city.
My coach house is clean ,well maintained, comfortable , well equipped and very reasonably priced. The solid mahogany king sized bed is extremely comfortable, with new goose down duvets and pillows, the sheets are cotton (perhaps she prefers synthetic)
The towels are fluffy and new.
Most people who stay in it LOVE it !

Really special

  • 5 out of 5
We feel so lucky to have found this place. It's a special getaway in a very unique part of Ireland. Honestly one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to. Now that I'm living in a city it was just incredible to be able to live for a few days in a spot like this in this with animals around and in this adorable cottage. We instantly felt like it was ours. Richard and Gilly wonderful. We wished we had seen more of them. Also the vegetables straight from the garden a really big bonus, and taste so different to our usual supermarket veg. We are going to book again asap for the summer. I hope its going to become an annual treat!

Coach House

This place is a slice of Heaven! It is an extremely comfortable, clean and cosy cottage only minutes from the stunning Dunworly Beach and W Cork coastline. The owners could not have been more helpful and advised me of several lovely spots to visit. Clonakilty, the neighbouring town is full of life, artists and wonderful pubs. I highly recommend this property to all and look forward to visiting it myself again soon.

Very Sweet Coach House

  • 5 out of 5
We arrived at this very sweet coach house in time to catch the most stunning sunset across the bay the house is situated above and back from. When we confirmed our booking we found out that the owner, Gilly, is an avid market gardener and cook. She very generously provided us with the most delicious home cooked meal upon our arrival and lots of fresh vegetables and herbs from the garden for the rest of our stay.We were delighted to take away with us some of the yummy jams and marmalade which Gilly makes. The house was cosy and the stove was lit for our arrival which was a welcoming touch. The owners couldn't have been more helpful with suggestions about where to visit and showed us where to go for stunning walks in the area - when the tide was low the beach walk was beautiful and covered several bays. The accommodation is charming, the bed was very comfortable & warm with a lovely duvet and electric blanket. We found everything we needed including WiFi. It was great to get away from the hustle & bustle of normal life to stay in a very peaceful place, off the beaten track. Would have loved to have stayed longer.
