Large 3 bedroom apartment, 1 bathroom with shower and WC, 1 separate WC. Bedroom 1, with double bed, leads onto small balcony shared with living room overlooking street leading down to port. Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds. Bedroom 3, though small, has double bed. Living room with dining table and 3 sofas. Ceiling fans. Fitted kitchen with utility balcony. On second floor of quiet residential block (there is no lift). Just 2 mins walk to Campello's main beach-front paseo and beaches, 2 mins to port, town park, tram station, supermarkets, bars, shops and restaurants. Baker's opposite. Very near the apartment is a bus stop from where a local bus can be caught into Alicante or to the large sandy beaches of San Juan. By tram the city of Alicante is a short 20 min journey to the south and to the north is a scenic journey through Villajoyosa, Benidorm, Altea and numerous towns & villages all the way to Denia on the north side of the peninsula. A car is not necessary.
What to do in the area: There are numerous activities available. During the summer you can catch the daily ferry from El Campello port to Benidorm or to the small island of Tabarca, where the snorkelling and swimming are excellent.
Terra Mitica Theme Park is a 20 minute drive away, near Benidorm, where there is also Terra Natura, a safari park, and Agua Natura water park. Aqualandia water park and Mundomar animal park are great days out for the family.
If you have a car, there are numerous scenic drives to mountain villages. A good place for buying souvenirs and for beautiful scenery is the village of Guadalest, 30 mins away. A new solar boat trip around the reservoir is another attraction there. There are many footpaths for walking in the mountains and birdwatching. The Caves of Canelobre, in the village of Busot, are approx. 6km away from Campello and the waterfalls of the Fonts D'Algar a 30 min drive.
The Tourist Information Office of El Campello is 50 metres from the apartment and open all year round.
Birdwatching, Walking: There are many sites of interest to birdwatchers and nature lovers in the province of Alicante and beyond, the owners can give advice and suggestions on places to visit. Winter, spring and autumn are ideal for walking in the Costa Blanca and there is beautiful scenery to be explored just a few kilometres inland.
Local Culture: The Moors and Christian fiestas are held in nearly every village and town throughout the area. Campello's own is in the month of October, but you can usually find one somewhere at any time of the year. The local Campello Fisherman's fiesta is in July.
For cheap tasty tapas, the Old Town of Benidorm has a wealth of small bars where, in the evening, you can have a glass of wine and tapa for 1€ and watch the locals doing the same.
Alicante city is well worth visiting for shopping, promenading, visiting the castle and port area and to get a taste of real Spain.
