Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Stratford-upon-Avon - Heritage Mews
Luxury cottage with garden, parking and Wi-Fi in Stratford-upon-Avon's Old Town.

Heritage Mews is a beautifully appointed holiday home with Visit England 5 Stars and Gold Award for 'exceptional quality of accommodation and customer service'.

It is in an excellent peaceful location in Stratford-upon-Avon's Old Town, just a few minutes' walk to the town centre, restaurants, Shakespeare Houses and Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Close to Holy Trinity Church and the River Avon, you can enjoy delightful riverside walks into town or out into adjacent countryside.

The cottage is personally managed by the owners, ensuring the highest standards of quality and cleanliness. There is Wi-Fi and private parking for two cars - a real benefit in Stratford town centre. Downstairs is a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting-dining room opening onto an attractive private courtyard garden - perfect for summer outdoor dining and a delight in all seasons. Upstairs is a bathroom and two elegant bedrooms, a queen-size double and a single, both with luxurious Egyptian cotton linen.

Heritage Mews is perfectly situated to enjoy a holiday in Stratford-upon-Avon. The historic town centre with its beautiful architecture and unique atmosphere is just a short stroll away. Visit nearby Holy Trinity Church (you can see the spire from the cottage), one of Britain's most beautiful parish churches on the banks of the River Avon, and see Shakespeare's grave - two or three minutes' walk from the cottage. From here there is a delightful riverside walk to the town centre, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Bancroft Gardens. Or walk into town along Old Town past Hall's Croft, Shakespeare's daughter's home, and down Church Street with its half-timbered buildings. Enjoy Stratford's excellent shopping, with galleries, antique centres and interesting independent shops as well as well-known high street stores. Relax with an Italian coffee on the waterfront at Cox's Yard. Cross the river on an old pedestrian chain ferry, the last of its kind in Britain. Walk across the Old Tramway Bridge and visit the Butterfly Farm. Take a fun City Sightseeing bus tour, which includes Anne Hathaway's Cottage in Shottery and Mary Arden's Farm in Wilmcote. Watch the world go by with champagne or a meal on the all-weather terrace at the Waterside Brasserie or take in the atmosphere at the Dirty Duck inn with a terrace overlooking the river.

Stratford-upon-Avon offers a fantastic choice of places to eat out - award-winning restaurants, bistros, pubs, cafes, coffees shops and traditional tea rooms. Many have gardens or terraces or overlook the river. Guests staying at Heritage Mews can use our complimentary 'GASTRO CARD', saving money when eating out at many of Stratford's top restaurants and pubs. Go online and check out the special offers and discounts at participating restaurants in Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding area and mention the Gastro Card when you book. In Warwickshire and the Cotswolds - award winning The Howard Arms at Ilmington and The Bell at Alderminster; The Fox & Goose Country Inn at Armscote; Kings Arms at Mickleton; The Curry Republic in Henley in Arden; The Granville at Barford and many more in Birmingham, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire. 5 STAR SHORT BREAKS: Heritage Mews is perfect for an out of season break. With fully controllable central heating, double glazing and luxurious carpets, the cottage is warm and welcoming whatever the weather.

PRIVATE OFF-ROAD PARKING FOR TWO CARS: Heritage Mews has two private off-road parking spaces - a real benefit in Stratford-upon-Avon where parking on the narrow streets is restricted and often in high demand. One parking space is through the gate at the end of the garden - convenient for unloading your car. The second space is in an adjacent courtyard. Enjoy the convenience of parking your cars safely within the private mews and explore this beautiful historic town on foot. All the famous sites and attractions, shops and restaurants are a short stroll away.

EXTENDED PARKING: Make the most of your holiday with our extended parking. Guests who would like to arrive early in Stratford to spend time in town can park one car at Heritage Mews from 10.30am on arrival day and check in later after 3pm. On departure day, having vacated by 10am, you can park one car until 2.30pm. Extended parking is subject to availability. Please request in advance.

A PERFECT HOME FROM HOME

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 07 March 2013 Date of Stay: February 2013
We found Heritage the perfect base for a holiday in Stratford upon Avon.

We have stayed in many holiday homes but this is certainly one of the best. Val and Simon have equipped it with everything one would ever need both as far as the kitchen is concerned and all other amenities. The house is warm and comfortable as is the bed! All equipment and linen is of the highest quality.

The location is spot on for accessing Stratford and the surrounding (beautiful) countryside and we didn't use the car at all. The local pub is first rate.

Finally, we have never seen such a colourful small garden in February.

All round a first class property.
Owner's Response: Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review and for your great comments. We’re delighted you liked our place and the location - ideal for both town and countryside walks, as well as our local pub, The New Bulls Head! The spring bulbs are coming out in the garden now too, adding to the colour. Hope to see you again soon!

A Memorable & Enjoyable 30th Wedding Anniversary

A Memorable & Enjoyable 30th Wedding Anniversary
5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 19 February 2011 Date of Stay: December 2010
A well appointed cottage, strategically located within walking distance from historical sites/town. Cottage was superbly maintained, a well equipped kitchen and the cottage was dressed for Christmas for us, i.e. X'mas tree and all. DAB radios in every corner of the cottage. Manicured private garden with access from the cottage and to the private parking space. Lighted candle arches donned the upstairs, 2 bedroom windows. Most welcoming was the central heating that wrapped us in a blanket of warmth, despite the foot high falling snow outside the cottage.

Val & Simon were very concerned and thoughtful about our safety and discouraged us from driving in the falling snow to Lincolnshire. Most of all, we really had a very memorable and enjoyable 30th wedding anniversary at Heritage Mews Self catering Cottage. We were presently surprised when we received a bottle of wine amongst other gifts from both of them. Thank you very much from Singapore 2010

Perfect Stratford upon Avon Retreat

I chose Heritage Mews because it offered the ideal combination of comfort, location and prvate parking and we were not disappointed! Our visited coincided with the start of the freezing weather and we awoke to a snow-covered Stratford on our last morning. The house was beautifully warm throughout the cold weather!
On arrival we were personally greeted by the owners and welcomed to the pristine house which is furnished to a very high standard - a beautiful bathroom and very comfortable bedrooms. The kitchen had everything one could possibly want by way of appliances and cooking equipment. Even in Winter one could appreciate the garden. An added bonus is being able to safely park in one's own private space. The location of the house means that on foot one can be in the centre of Stratford within minutes whlst being assured of peace and quite back 'at home'.
Although I have visited Stratford many times before it was a first visit around Christmas time and we really enjoyed the 'switching on' of the Stratford Christmas Lights which was very-well attended and finished with fireworks.
For the newcomer to Stratford the house has a large selection of leaflets, books and other information on Stratford and surrounding areas. I particularly found helpful the weekly list of events that had been personally prepared by The Broke-Smiths.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Heritage Mews.

Three weeks in Stratford-upon-Avon and Cotswolds

We enjoyed three action packed weeks in Heritage Mews, the location was perfect for our needs. The accommodations for the three adults were first class, all our needs were anticipated by our gracious hosts - Val and Simon. Access to the surrounding countryside was simple, even for a Canadian!
The welcome package, which included flowers, was most appreciated. Information on upcoming local events for the specific dates we were there was compiled by Val and Simon, now that is service! What a delightful garden, we could sit and sip our wine at the end of an eventful day and plan the next day, it was perfect. We toured the Cotswolds as well as the town and can highly recommend the Romantic Road tours outlined on the Cheltenham council website. The National Trust Membership saved us a great deal of money on entry fees. The local restaurants and pubs, such as The West End, were charming, served good food and the service was on a par with anywhere we have travelled. All in all it was a great holiday experience, thank you. We highly recommend this property and Stratford-upon-Avon. Ken & Anne Ralph, Melanie Evans, Ancaster, Ontario Canada
