I live in the Northwest and come to the islands on a regular basis ever since I worked for the airlines. I fell in love with Kauai on my Honeymoon here, and have never stopped coming back.

I love Kauai, and especially Islander on the Beach. It feels like you have stepped back in time with the low rise building and especially this unit sitting so close to the beach - it is truly amazing. This is an amazing resort, and I come back several times a year to keep it in the best of condition.
Unobstructed oceanfront, Warm island decor, condo is kept in top condition and is visited by me at least 6 times a year to ensure you have the best stay ever.
Trip Advisor Review - 5 Star Review - I was more than pleased with our beautiful room and view for our first four nights in Kauai. We rented a unit directly from an owner, so I cannot speak for some aspects of the resort overall. However, we had a beautiful room on the second floor, with a full ocean view (unit 250).
The linens were exceptionally nice, robes for our use, boogie boards and a soft-sided cooler, flatware and dishes for simple meals. The room is pretty much a standard large hotel room with a loveseat, small table, and kitchen with small refrigerator, microwave and sink. The frig is an undercounter frig but larger than many in a hotel room, probably about three feet tall so large enough for a stash of cokes and sandwich makings.
The grounds were nice. We were here with friends who were at the Marriott in Lihue and then later at the Marriott in Poipu Certainly the grounds do not compare to those resorts, but neither does the price. There is a nice pool and hot tub.
Location is great. We divided our time this trip by staying four days at Kapaa, four days south, and four days north. While this location would be great for exploring the whole island, we stayed pretty close to Kapaa and Lihue for hikes.
I particularly recommend hiking Kuilau Ridge Trail. It does have a somewhat steep incline, but never sharply steep, never with sharp drop-offs, and with spectacular views. We climbed about half way up Sleeping Giant, but the trail on it was steep, rocky, had sharp drop-offs, and eventually became more difficult than I wanted. To an accomplished hiker, it would have probably not bee too much, but I do not enjoy having to watch my footing. I want to see the views.
Room Tip: We rented directly from an owner rather than from the resorts. I found it on Aloha Condos.
We stayed at this condo and couldn't believe how nice it was and the views are just crazy. It was a great place for us as we went exploring each day to all the great beaches and hiking Kauai has to offer. The owner was real nice, and we are looking at coming back soon. It was great the Coconut Marketplace ia within walking distance. We will be coming back to condo 250
We just stayed in the owners other unit at Kapaa Sands and we are once again thrilled by her units. This unit sits right on the ocean and the resort is so much fun. It is very clean and nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. The sunrises here are incredible. Thanks for having such great places for us to stay!
When we opened the door all we could see was a clear view of the ocean - exciting!! It was very comforting with Tommy Bahama furniture and decor. We loved this unit, it was very clean and well appointed - we will be back. There was live music at the pool on Saturday, and we were able to walk to the shops across from the parking lot.
I was blown away with the upgrades in this unit and the unstoppable view of the ocean. From the moment you open the door to the condo all you see is ocean, ocean, ocean. I have stayed in many of these condos at Islander, and this one is the best kept secret! You feel safe being on the second floor leaving your lanai door open, which is a huge plus, and the people walking by or bikes don't obstruct your view! Wow! I will be back for sure!!
Islander on the Beach is located on the east side of Kauai on the coconut coast with Unit 250 being located in the Ni'ihau oceanfront building. Unit 250 is oceanfront on the beautiful beach, convenient to shopping at the Coconut Market Place, restaurants, and many attractions. Soak up the sun in the ocean-side pool, or relax in the Jacuzzi with a Mai Tai from the poolside Tiki hut bar. You are located midway on the island in the Coconut Coast that is 15 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from the Northern and Southern points of the island. You have world famous falls within a 10 minutes drive, and a chance to the turtles at the cove next door. Stroll through the swaying palm trees and watch the tiki torches at night around the pool. Mahalo, and hope to see you soon. The sleeper sofa has now been replaced with two comfortable elephant bamboo chairs, and sleeps 2.
