Located on a quiet, private road, this idyllic three bedroom, two bath house features views of the ocean, fishing boats, Crescent Beach, and Richmond Island.

Crescent Beach State Park is just a few minutes stroll away, via a private path through nature preserve. The path opens a good distance from the park's main entrance, so you'll be sure to find the privacy you desire. At Crescent Beach, you'll find soft sand, a gentle tide, and rocky coast line at both ends. You'll also find walking/jogging trails along the shore and through the woods in both directions. Popular activities include swimming, kayaking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Kayak rentals are available right on the beach, at the Snack Bar.

If you like, drive or bike along Scarborough Marsh toward Higgins Beach (5.0 mi. away), Scarborough Beach (6.1 mi.), or Ferry Beach (7.0 mi.). Explore the rocky coast of Two Lights State Park (1.7 mi.), or picnic next to Portland Headlight at Fort Williams (6 mi.). Kayaking at nearby Scarborough marsh is also popular, and rentals are available on site.

You can also visit nearby farms to select locally harvested seafood and locally grown produce, then barbecue on the deck while watching sail boats and other watercraft pass by. Or, leave the dinner prep to others: 4 star dining and other fine establishments are right around the corner (0.2-0.5 mi.).

And of course, Portland's Old Port and Downtown await just 12-15 minutes away. Named by Frommer's Travel Guides as one of twelve "surprising, thriving and emerging world travel destinations," Portland offers great food, pubs, shops, music, art, scenic cruises, and more!

The house in brief:
• 3 bedrooms and a den (a king, a queen, and 2 twin beds; also a fold-out futon in the den)
• Open concept living/dining room (dining table has optional extension leaf)
• Full kitchen with dishwasher, oven, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, glassware, dishware, lobster pot, etc.

Great escape
This was a great choice for our family during our trip to Portland. The location was great, close enough to Portland but far away so that the space was very spacious. The house is beautiful and in great condition, with a beautiful view. The owner is very helpful and responsive. My family all enjoyed staying there, I highly recommend it.

Fabulous place for anyone
Steps from the ocean this well appointed house was a paradise for our family. The fenced in back yard was perfect for toddler grandson. With the beautiful flowers, all of us enjoyed great times on the deck grilling and enjoying the view. There is plenty of room for all ages to get a little privacy. You not only can walk to the beach, but also to a wonderful restaurant and ice cream shop. There is plenty to see in the area. We will go back again definitely!!!
