Overview

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Cumberland

Nestled in the quant town of Cumberland Wisconsin. This home and town has something to offer for all ages. Within walking distance of the home is a life guard attended beach, fishing pier, Eagle Point (hiking path and beautiful sandy beach on Beaver Damn Lake), Island City Food Co-op and bakery (that offer items in bulk as well as large selection of organic products, Isle Theatre (built in 1921 and recently restored to its original beauty), Playhouse, antique stores, restaurants and the local pubs. For Golf lovers, the area has a number of great courses: (To name a few) Cumberland Golf Club, Turtleback Golf Dining and Conference Center, Spooner Golf Course and Butternut Golf Course. Try your luck at the Turtle Lake Casino (15 minutes away). If you love to mountain bike, use one of ours (included in the rental) and bike around Beaver Damn Lake which is a scenic 10 mile ride.

Home Details: Built in 1888, this home has been beautifully maintained and renovated to include today’s needs (dishwasher, washer and dryer, cable, wireless internet) without losing its historic and warm charm. The upstairs has 3 bedroom, bathroom with cast iron footed tub as well as a standing shower, washer and dryer. The main level has a family room with fireplace, dining room with large dining room table that seats 12, kitchen with eat in island, bathroom, art studio (great for project with the kids), and a large deck with a swing (perfect way to end the day).

To assist in your stay we have included complimentary Starbucks coffee, Aveda products (shampoo and conditioner), laundry soap, basic cooking staples: spices, oils, sugar, flour, assorted condiments. The owner used to be a caterer, so the kitchen is stocked with quite a bit of stemware, china and cooking tools and equipment. In the summer time, there are fresh herbs in the garden for your use as well.

To make sure your stay (and sleep) is more comfortable, the bed linens are high thread count as well as down pillows (poly pillows are available).

About Ann Jacobson

My mother and I purchased the home together to enjoy with our family. We have enjoyed many hours at the beach, long bike rides around Beaver Dam lake, hamburgers at the corner bar or spaghetti and the Tower House and finishing the day with a nice glass of wine on the swing on the front porch. Unfortunately, with commitments in the cities we are unable to enjoy the home to much this summer.

Ann Jacobson purchased this house in 2010

Why Ann Jacobson chose Cumberland

My mother grew up on a small farm on a nearby town and as a child dreamed of owning this very Victorian.

A couple years ago, when it became available on the market, we walked through the home and immediately fell in love with the character, the warmth and the energy.

We know you will as well!

What makes this house unique

What I love about this home is the close proximately to everything, yet having the feeling of being tucked away. The kids can safely walk to the beach or Dairy Queen and the parents can walk home from the restaurant or bar if they indulge in too much wine...

Beautiful home and town

  • 5 out of 5
My family and I came to the area to bury our father. I feel so blessed we found this home to rent. We all really loved it. It is right in the heart of Cumberland and was the central gathering place for us.
The home was very charming and lovely. Felt more like staying in a "home" vs. a rental property. The owner was very easy and flexible to work with. Thanks again!
