New & Spacious & Luxury Holiday Villa

The villa and location was just as described not only in the description but by others who had stayed there. The whole complex was very clean, tidy and well maintained as was the villa and the pool albeit in March/April it really was too cold to make any use of it! The location was ideal even without a car as the walk into the old part of Albufeira Town was an easy walk even with an elderly mother! The local bus station was also in easy walking distance and reasonably priced to go and visit many of the other beautiful locations this part of the country has to offer. We did walk to the train station but if using local maps be warned it's much further than you think and ended up being quite a trek - but still do-able if you don't mind stretching your legs.

Communication with the owner was superb and not only did she arrange transport to and from the airport which worked like a dream, but also allowed us to stay in the villa until it was time to leave for the airport so no hanging around on the streets with suitcases having been kicked out early doors!

There were however a couple of points that I should draw your attention to. Firstly, the villa we were in was north facing which meant that at the time of year we visited the sun (when it did shine) never really shone on the villa balcony/patio and all the benefit was reaped by the kitchen and not the living area. The weather was very unpredictable and the lack of sun on the villa meant that it was very cold - the lack of air con meant that there was no way to heat the rooms and although there was a large fire, there was no logs and without a car, no means of purchasing any locally either. We spent much of the week wrapped up in jumpers, socks and bed quilts and the bedrooms were freezing. It also meant that the towels we had been supplied with for the week were difficult to dry and as they were not changed - remained uncomfortably wet.

While the kitchen was well equipped (albeit one gas ring didn't work), the oven had no shelves or grill. This wouldn't have been so bad if we could have used the barbecue but given there was little/no sun and it was cold and wet outside - this wasn't an option and so cooking was very difficult and we didn't really want the expense of eating out EVERY night which can very quickly become costly and defeats the object of renting such accommodation.

All that said we made the very best of it and I wouldn't hesitate recommending the villa to others if in better weather!
