CENTRAL LONDON: LARGE, COMFORTABLE ONE BED FLAT - SLEEPS 4

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday apartment in Bloomsbury

1 bedroom apartment to sleep 4 in Central London - Zone 1

The flat is in a typical red brick Edwardian block situated on a quiet, leafy street. It is secure and clean with a resident caretaker. It is a large one bedroom flat with a small, but well appointed kitchen.

The flat comprises a large double bedroom, a large sitting room with steps up into the galley style kitchen. It is possible to cook and eat here or at one of the many restaurants in the area. There is plenty of storage space, and a double sofa bed (120cm wide) in the sitting room to accommodate additional visitors. Flat is 546 sq feet or 50.72 sq meters approx. in area.

This is an excellent base for accessing all the major sites of London. Bloomsbury is a vibrant, lively area, with beautiful squares. The flat is within a few minutes walk of all the major tube lines and excellent shopping facilities are on your doorstep.

There is TV, DVD and broadband wi-fi at the flat.

Central London means in the centre of London: There are many properties which are advertised as Central London when in fact they are many miles and a train or tube journey away from the centre. This flat is in the centre of Travel Zone 1 and it is within walking distance of many of the main tourist attractions and shopping areas. You should ask how long it takes to WALK to Oxford Street and Covent Garden and then decide for yourself if a property is in Central London.

Guestbook comments from the owner
Thank you for the clean linen. It was lovely to come back from a day of museums and city walks to find a freshly made bed.

We have enjoyed our little "home" here. The kitchen is perfect. The size and location ideal. (Sarah & John - USA)

GREAT FLAT BY ST. PANCRAS TUBE/EUROSTAR

  • 4 out of 5
Very clean and fantastic location near Russell Square Tube and St Pancras Tube and Eurostar station. Very comfortable walking in area at 11pm when returning from nearby local pubs. Two grocers very close. North Sea Fish is at end of street and has the best fish and chips we had in London. Excellent Wi-Fi connection!

PERFECTA UBICACIÓN Y PERFECTO ANFITRIÓN.

  • 5 out of 5

BLOOMSBURY FLAT

  • 5 out of 5
Comfortable, very clean and well maintained, in an excellent location- just walking around Bloomsbury was a real pleasure and much of interest in central London is within easy walking distance. Good local shops and tube and buses are only minutes away. Eugene was very helpful and provided excellent notes about the local area and about interesting places to visit in London.

FANTASTIC APARTMENT, IN THE PERFECT LOCATION

  • 5 out of 5
We are getting ready to return to this apartment in Summer 2014 for our second stay in two years. Our experience here could not have been any better. Eugene was wonderful; the apartment was clean and well-appointed, had everything we could have asked for, and in a location that put us within a 5-minute walk of two tube stations, including King's Cross/St. Pancras. The area is entirely safe; we felt perfectly comfortable walking from the apartment to St. Pancras in the dark at 4:30 a.m. to catch an early departure to Paris via Eurostar. The street is quiet and beautiful with pubs nearby and the amazing North Sea Fish. We cannot wait to return for a second stay.

NICE APARTMENT IN GREAT LOCATION

  • 5 out of 5
My husband and I have visited London several times and London is just expensive, but housing is particular so by US standards. We tended to stay in hotels that were horrifyingly expensive for the living situation. Now that we have a child, we didn't want to do that, so we rented an apartment. For close to the same cost of those places, we got more space, privacy, and flexibility! This is by far the nicest stay in London we've had. The apartment was great, especially if you have a child in tow. The apartment is clean and also simple, which meant we spent less time worrying about our toddler falling and breaking something! The back entrance doesn't have any stairs (you roll up a little driveway to a gate that lets out on the street), which is great if you have a stroller. We could hear the Tube, but it didn't bother anyone in my family.

The location is great. We normally stay in the Bayswater area and we were nervous to try a new neighborhood. We love this neighborhood and have adopted it as our new London neighborhood. The key is to go to Marchmont St, which is a quaint street just around the corner. On Marchmont, we had great pastries every morning at Fork, dinner and drinks at The Marquis of Cornwallis pub, quick meals at the Pret a Porter (across street from Russell tube station), and shopping at Waitrose grocery store. It also ends at the Russell Tube (about 5-10 min walk away depending on your walking speed). It's a smaller Tube station, but we loved the ambience on Marchmont so much that we would often use that station to go places. Right behind the apartment building on Lehigh there are great places to eat including two takeout places for those nights you're too tired to go to a restraurant: great chinese takeout from Chili Cool and the best fish and chips we've ever had at the North Sea Restaurant. The apartment is also very close to St Pancras/Kings Cross, making it convenient to get anywhere in London.

Eugene was great to interact with and everything went extremely smoothly. We wired one payment and sent the other by PayPal, both transactions went flawlessly. I'd recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to London, but especially if you have children. The apartment is very child friendly and the neighborhood has great parks and easy access to public transport. Next time we're in London, we'll be contacting Eugene!

VERY GOOD LOCATION AND $

  • 4 out of 5
Rental and location was perfect for my friend and I. Definitely would return and/or recommend to others.

PROs
- Clean. Rooms & items were proper
- There's a "Local Guide" binder that contained very useful info on the area, services, and use of equipment in the rental (thermostat, media players, etc)
- Eugene was really nice, professional when dealing with us through email, in person
- Very close to many landmarks, from 10-20min walk, such as: King's Cross/St. Pancras, Russell Square (we used this Tube stop the most), British Museum
- There's a Waitross, grocery store, that was very convenient to shop at
- For 2 women, we always felt safe walking this neighborhood, no matter time of day

CONs / What to expect / Suggestion
- 1 toilet roll. Maybe the guest is expected to purchase additional rolls, but for the rental $ we paid for a week, I don't think asking for 1+ rolls would be inconvenient?
- Needs more kitchen linens
- Apt is on the lower floor. I think the kitchen is underneath the main entrance stairwell, we could hear everyone coming and going.
- The rental $ is wired. We have always booked known hotels on Expedia, so were very hesitant. But prior postive reviews, and Eugene's professional email replies gave us the confidence to agree to this method.

We spent a lot of time researching rentals in all areas of London. In regards to keeping within our budget, and location proximity, we feel this rental was spot on. I would describe it as a University student living area. As well, we read reviews about terrible experiences with the landlord/landlady, we're lucky to have been able to deal with a pleasureable and informative person as Eugene.
