Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a brilliant time in the apartment - the best 'Staycation' we have ever had.....the views from the apartment were just amazing....I could never tire of looking at the water.

The 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was just perfect for a girly weekend as we each got our own bedrooms so didn't have to listen to anyone else snoring..!! and no queuing for the shower in the mornings or worry about clearing away all our toilitries for the next person waiting to use the bathroom - we all agreed it was just the perfect setup and can't wait to go back again in 2011

This was our 2nd stay in this lovely apartment and we will definitely return for a 3rd.
Everything you could wish for is provided and the standard is 1st class. The view, of course, is to die for, constantly changing and always interesting. We were quite lucky with the weather, only 1 wet day and we spent it at the Titanic Exhibition in Belfast, well worth a visit. The Giants Causeway of course is a must, eating out we had a very good meal at Vanilla in Newcastle. We had a late afternoon flight home but left the apartment early and did the Black Cab Tour in Belfast, 2 hours of very interesting eye opening information and detail, highly recommended. All in all we had a brilliant time and you won't fail to be impressed with the apartment, the area and Northern Ireland as a whole if you decide to visit.

Magical

  • 5 out of 5
Serene, clean and just perfect for our visit. The apt. is situated in a tiny town that has everything you need within walking distance...including the cafe Blue for a cup of cappuccino and Irish breakfast..
We recommend the Buck's Head Inn...the gentlemen who fix cars are so pleasant and welcoming and the people who work at at the VIVO were lovely too.
What really took our breath away was the outstanding view and changing scenery. The mountains adorned by a rainbow or covered in clouds...just magnificent.

The Quay was a perfect starting point for our travels. We have already suggested this apt. to our friends.
Thank you!

Stunning

  • 5 out of 5
This was our third visit to the appartment in Dundrum, although our first short stay. As ever it was very comfortable with great views of the inlet and mountains. The highlight was standing on the balcony with a mug of tea in hand about an hour after sunrise looking across towards the Mountains of Mourne. Stunning. My wife and I were accompanied by friends who were on their first visit to Dundrum. They were very impressed with the appartment generally and the setting.
I know that we will want to return again before too long.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much Jim for you very kind feedback. It gives us great satisfaction that guests find the apartment welcoming, comfortable and a good base for their holiday as we aim to make it a little oasis from the hustle and bustle of everyday life (I know what you mean about that magical time just after sunrise - it is my favourite time also!). We look forward to welcoming you back again in the not too distant future. :-) Kind regards, Andrea

A really wonderful stay in Northern Ireland!

  • 5 out of 5
This is a wonderful apartment with a great view of small bay just off the ocean. Very clean. Very comfortable furnishings. Great kitchen. The location is really beautiful. Dundrum is a nice town and it's about a 6 min drive to Newcastle which is at the base of the impressive Mourne Mountains. The only hitch was the lack of cleaning supplies, such as surface cleaner for the kitchen and dish-washing soap. We did a good amount of cooking and we had to buy some supplies in order to clean up well. Nonetheless, they had dish soap for the dish-washing machine, which worked great. Overall our stay was superb: relaxing and very comfortable for three. Thank you for great accommodations!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your very kind review. I am sorry that the cleaning supplies had run low. I will ensure that we increase the amount of product we leave in future so that if other guests are enthusiastic cooks they will not face the same problem! It was our pleasure to have you as our guests and hopefully you may return one day :-)

Dundrum is a small village located on Dundrum Bay, at the foot of the Mourne Mountains. This area is recognised as both an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and one of the finest places on the island of Ireland to see a wonderful range of wildlife. Within 10 minutes drive there is an extensive range of activities, whatever your age or interests, including Golf at the world famous Royal County Down golf course, (a mere 5 minutes away); horse riding, both in the forests surrounding the area as well as exhilarating beach rides; and of course, with such a stunning mountain range, hill walkers are spoilt for choice. However, if you are looking to unwind, then look no further. It’s peaceful location and stunning views encourage you to switch off your Blackberry, unplug the TV and simply watch the fantastic display of sea bird acrobatics, seals bobbing past your window and the ever changing landscape created by the ebb and flow of the twice daily tide – all from the comfort of your balcony.

Golf: Royal County Down is one of the oldest Golf Clubs in Ireland with traditions dating back for more than one hundred years. Situated in Newcastle, where in the immortal words of Percy French, 'The Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea', Royal County Down is not only a fine test of golf but has accompanying scenery that is spellbinding.

Alongside the Championship Links, Royal County Down has a second course, The Annesley Links. Laid out beneath the same massive, almost menacing backdrop, the Annesley Links is nowhere near as intimidating or as formidable a challenge as the Championship Links, but then it was never intended to be. It is a course for everyone.
