Ballyhoura Holiday Homes

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 07 May 2013 Date of Stay: March 2013
My husband and I along with our 4 children spent 5 days here over the Easter holidays. Its such a beautiful area and the accomodation was second to none. Everything was provided for us in the house along with fresh clean linen and towels.

These homes are quite spacious and full of modern appliances and beautiful bathrooms and the log burning fire just added that extra special touch. The houses are located beside the biking trails which we made full use of and our children had great fun in the play grounds provided on the site and it was hard to get them to come in for bed time. We were welcomed with open arms by the owners who were there on hand to offer any information about attractions in the local area. We would highly recommend to stay here if your a family looking to get away from it all for a relaxing holiday. We hope to visit again soon

We had a lovely weekend with friends in Ballyhoura. The houses are lovely and well equiped. The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms had good showers. The peaceful setting was just lovely for a nice relaxing get-away. Had slight trouble with hot water but John fixed it promptly. Would recommend them to anybody

Superb quality homes.

Review Submitted: 28 September 2012 Date of Stay: September 2012
Just a brilliant and relaxing place to holiday, superb quality wooden houses (not cabins) that are really well finished with the best of white goods etc. 10 minutes from Ballyhoura woods makes it an ideal place for mountain biking and the peace and tranquility makes it the ideal place to relax. Great play parks for the kids on-site too, but not too close to your front door :-)

Can't recommend it enough and once you give John your time he will look after your every need.

Ballyhoura with children and grandparents

4 out of 5
Review Submitted: 26 September 2012 Date of Stay: September 2012
We booked the houses for a weekend away with three small children and grandparents. Lovely welcome from Mary on arrival and the house is clean and the kitchen well-equipped. There was plenty of information on local walks and attractions. As a September chill had crept in, we bought logs and kindling locally and the stove heated the whole house. The kids were delighted with the playgrounds on site. There is lots of walking nearby - we had a good day on Seefin mountain. Would happily recommend the houses for your stay. One small quibble - electricity was expensive - 19 euro for less than 48 hours.

Not sure I would call it luxury

3 out of 5
Review Submitted: 25 September 2012 Date of Stay: September 2012
Superb location with plenty of activities especially for children. the play grounds are safe and fun. bicycle trails within cycling distance and walking also. However the house was nice and lovely to have ensuite rooms. Needs to be more kitchen utensils e.g. Microwave bowls salad bowls etc frying pan with handle!!! Perhaps more than 3 dishwasher tabs. the house was nice but could do with pictures on walls etc. I would not describe it as luxury but pleasant. I am glad return visitors get a reduction as with the reduction it is value for money. I would definitely return but perhaps weekend is too short as arrival Friday pm and leave Sun am, but we were kindly permitted a late check out.
Owner's Response: Review Inaccurate

We very much appreciate all the guests that have stayed with us over the years since we started. Any reviews that we have had todate have been very balanced and accurate. This review is inaccurate and unbalanced. It is imperative that a review should reflect a true and fair view of what is being reported on. This review did not meet these criteria. The statement of the frying pan not having a handle is at variance with the facts as our quality control checks these items in advance of guests commencing their stay. Additionally,in any event there is a second frying pan in the house. Both frying pans had their handles affixed to them. It is insinuated in the review that we provided a defective frying pan, it is incorrect.
We would consider three dishwasher tablets sufficient for a weekend and these guests were the first to mention that they needed more.
Regarding the term Luxury, We have invited these reviewers to sample our other houses and they should be in a position to determine that our Houses are indeed luxury. Another point, we have pictures on the walls, each house is decorated differently, the one referred to here is noted for its array of natural light.
Our conclusion is that this review is inaccurate, at variance with the facts and is disturbing. The reviewers admit that they had a great weekend and will return.
