Our 'Kaffeemühle' is a house built in typical South-Tyrolean style. The splendid view on the Latemar-Massif and the wide view over the valley show its position in the heart of the Dolomites. To accentuate the style of the house we chose the furniture in an matching Tyrolean style and are most certain that our guests will feel at home. Early in the morning you can watch the sun kissing the tops of the Latemar awake one by one. The partly roofed balcony will invite you for having breakfast outside. Books and games are available and we also supplied trail maps, maps for walks and general information on South-Tyrol and Northern Italy. They enable our guests to organise their tours through the mountains or places of interest in the region. Nearby Bolzano is a lively town. It offers many nice shops and a great number of cultural events. During the Verona Opera Festival in July/August special coach tours can be booked and others are available to places like Venice, Innsbruck and Lake Garda.
Karersee/Carezza is part of the community of Welschnofen/Nova Levante and is situated on a sunny alm just at the foot of the Rosengarten-Massif about 1,700 metres above sea level. Nearby is the Karersee. The mountain peaks of the Latemar are reflecting in its emerald-green water. Empress Elizabeth of Austria - called Sissy -, Agatha Christie and Sir Winston Churchill visited Karersee regularly, stayed at the famous Grand Hotel Karezza and admired the beauty of the landscape. There is one smaller supermarket in the village. Restaurants, Pizzerias as well as nice simple huts are inviting for a rest and good meal. A variety of shops are in Welschnofen/Nova Levante. A modern chair-lift from Karersee leads up to the Paolina-Hut about 2,300 metres. This hut is the starting point for many alpine trails and climbing in the area of dwarf 'King Laurin'. The legend says the Alpine-Glow in the evening reminds of his beautiful rose garden which was destroyed in a battle in ancient days.
