“A little piece of Heaven”

The extraordinary setting of this house so high up was an absolute delight. It was like sitting in heaven, watching the world go by, down under.

Our children could not wait to return every afternoon to swim in the pool which is built on a cliff, overlooking the beautiful village of St Julien in sunny Provence, while mum and dad had sun downers on the terrace before barbecuing every evening.

The huge apartment in which we stayed was perfectly clean with everything we needed and totally private from the very friendly and helpful owners of the house. I absolutely loved the green bathroom!

There are too much to do in this area and you won’t be able to fit it all in one week. A must see is the “Gorges du Verdon”, St Croix is beautiful and our kids loved going on the boats near Lake d Esparron. As this is the Provence, do not forget to visit one or two wineries.

We had a fantastic time and will highly recommend it for couples, families and pensioners.

We really felt welcome and at home

  • 5 out of 5
It was our luck that this wonderful house was available this summer and we spent a fantastic week with our three children (10,12,14) truly enjoying the facilities, the magnificent view and the extraordinary hospitality from Katia and Albrecht.

We went to many wonderful villages in the area, saw Lavender fields, visited a wine yard nearby, went to Gorges de Verdon, went swimming in lake St. Croix, but at the same time we spent many hours of total relaxation in the house and on the terraces belonging to it - with the pool as a perfect place to cool down.

We were surprised that the rooms were actually more spacious than we had imagined and our two girls really enjoyed sleeping in the huge master bed room.

Albrecht and Katia live in the first floor of the house and they gave us a warm welcome, a good introduction to the facilities and were very kind and helpful to us all week - they are very discreet and sociable persons, which we highly appreciated.

Our children also enjoyed the company of their two cats and we are sure the cats also had a great week.

We will certainly return to this wonderful house some day and can highly recommend you to visit La Sisampe.

Wonderful vacation property

  • 5 out of 5
The listing description does not do full justice to this marvelous vacation property. The rooms are spacious and well furnished, and the facilities are superb, especially the wonderful views. The pool is a nice bonus as well. There is also a gazebo and terrace overlooking the valley.

There is a fine restaurant in the old village within easy walking distance, and the main village is only five minutes away by car, or a little longer if you choose to walk.

The location is central to many outstanding vacation amenities which really need more than a single week to explore. We especially liked the Verdon Gorges, which are spectacular and should not be missed.

We had a very special week here and plan to return in the future.

The climax of our bicycle tour

  • 5 out of 5
After 500 kilometers and the final hard climb to La Sisampe, the place offered more than we could imagine. The warm wellcoming of our hosts , the tranquility and the breathtaking view to the valley exceeded all our wishes. The property is very well-maintained. The old village is charming and has also a restaurant with decent dinner. There is a walking path to the new village which can be reach in 10 minutes to buy fresh bread. We hope to be back some day.

Ein traumhaftes Haus

  • 5 out of 5

A place that ensure a very good holiday

  • 5 out of 5
This house is very good, first some practical information:
- the description of the house on this web site is very accurate
- the property is clean and well-maintained
- the owner provides a very good customer service

There are a lot of things to see in the area:
- lavender fields
- water biking on the river at gorges du verdon
- the markeds in the local villages
- lac du sainte croix
(suggestions for things to do can be find in the house or you can ask the owner).

We stayed at the house with children aged 8 to 10 years and the enjoyed very much the pool, the terrace and the house.

Delighful location with stupendous views!!

  • 5 out of 5
Thank you Albert and Katia for sharing your beautiful home with the four of us and for your kind and warm hospitality.

The situation of your property is truly magnificent and affords such sweeping views of the countryside. It's right next to a delighful old village and within easy reach of many other villages for sightseeing and shopping.

The website does a good job of describing the home and facilities to hand. We appreciated the thorough clean at the end of our 1st week's stay and everything provided to make our visit as comfortable as possible.

The leaflets and maps were a geat help as was the information provided by our hosts at the welcome meeting and afterwards.

The markets in the nearby villages were worth a visit or two!! There are so many beautiful little villages and towns to explore and I'm sure we didn't discover them all (another trip maybe one day?) We particularly liked Cotignac, Moustiers and Tourtours, to mention but a few.

We took a ride to St. Tropez... to see how the rich and famous live and then were pleased to be able to return to the peace and tranquility of our holiday home!!

Eating out on the terraces was a delight, soaking up the views.

There was such a lot to fill our days and the ride around the magnificent Gorges and lakes was breathtaking. We have some wonderful photos to remind us of the picturesque area.

Unfortunately our visit coincided with some of the worst rainfall experienced in that region since 1827. However it fell during the space of 24 hours and was mainly in an area some 20 miles away. We did witness the devastation caused by the floods and felt so sorry for all concerned. It was during a ride out to the beautiful old town of Les Arcs , the day after the deluge, that we realised the full extent of the damage.Fortunately the holiday home is well protected on a hillside and was not affected!!

Thanks once again and best wishes for the future.
