At 'La Belle Pétraie' you will find 'a little bit of Heaven in France'!

And the Swimming Pool is fantastic - reflecting blue skies, it is very private, for the use of La Belle Petraie guests only, just outside your own front door. It is easy to keep an eye on the kids in the pool as you work on your laptop in the Pigeonnier - the only upstairs room.

Local Bilingual Representatives: Our local representatives are bilingual and live only a short distance away and will be available to help you in any way they can.

Restaurants: There are 3 top class restaurants within walking distance of 'La Belle Pétraie' - Restaurant “Chez Alain” and La Brucelière in Issigeac itself and Le Relais de l’Ancienne Gare a short walk out the Eymet Road. There is also the (personally) highly recommended pizzeria and takeaway, Casa del Seyrat. On market days you will be lucky to find a table at the Auberge du café de France (café, restaurant), Café de l’Europe “Chez Annie”, La Petite Treille (salon de thé, petite Restauration) or Le Lion D'Or (bar) (our favourite on market day!)

In July/August, watch out for the Marche Nocturne (Night Market) on Thursday nights where local food is available from several stalls and eaten at long communal tables in the village square - popular with both locals and tourists alike.

Gastronomic food, superb wine, pleasant weather, and a convivial atmosphere all await you in historical Issigeac, a medieval village in sunny South West France, with its winding streets, old timbered buildings, restaurants and cafe bars and, of course, its famous Sunday market, with its stalls of fresh local fruit, vegetables, bread, sausages, cheeses and wines, as well as clothes, cooking equipment, books, antiques and linens. Also, visit a market each day in various other local villages and bastide towns such as Eymet, Castillones, Sarlat and Beaumont de Perigord. Stop off at some of the local vineyards and their Chateaux to sample the renowned local Bergerac wines. Along the way, admire orchards and fields of yellow sunflowers spread out against the sky. Horse riding and golf are available a short distance away as is lake swimming. Bergerac, also a medieval city, is just 15 mins. away with its lovely old town rising up from the majestic Dordogne River and its many water sports.

Other Activities: Wine Tasting, Local Markets, Chateaux, Bastide Towns, go-karting

Ski: Skiing in the French Pyrenees is only about a three/four hour drive away but you need to be brave to drive the mountain roads in winter!
