Gastronomic food, superb wine, pleasant weather, and a convivial atmosphere all await you in historical Issigeac, a medieval village in sunny South West France, with its winding streets, old timbered buildings, restaurants and cafe bars and, of course, its famous Sunday market, with its stalls of fresh local fruit, vegetables, bread, sausages, cheeses and wines, as well as clothes, cooking equipment, books, antiques and linens. Also, visit a market each day in various other local villages and bastide towns such as Eymet, Castillones, Sarlat and Beaumont de Perigord. Stop off at some of the local vineyards and their Chateaux to sample the renowned local Bergerac wines. Along the way, admire orchards and fields of yellow sunflowers spread out against the sky. Horse riding and golf are available a short distance away as is lake swimming. Bergerac, also a medieval city, is just 15 mins. away with its lovely old town rising up from the majestic Dordogne River and its many water sports.
Other Activities: Wine Tasting, Local Markets, Chateaux, Bastide Towns, go-karting
Ski: Skiing in the French Pyrenees is only about a three/four hour drive away but you need to be brave to drive the mountain roads in winter!
