Guestbook comments from the owner

We have had a great time and are sad to leave. This is the cleanest, most well equipped and picturesque cottage we've stayed in. You were such lovely people. Thank you so much. Please keep Glorious Goodwood week free for us next year and we shall look forward to returning then, if not before.

Outstanding!

  • 5 out of 5
Keith and Pamela go out of their way to make this cottage an supreme venue. It is cosy and very well equiped. The views from the backyard are beautiful and the area is great for walking. Plenty of Explorer maps available if you don't have any. We stayed for 14 days and would be glad to come again. Hopefully the weather will be as good as we had this time. But theb again we always have good weather. England is great. O, and do visit the pub in Selham: the three moles. Great atmosphere and lovely people. Until next time!

Owner's Response: How very kind of these guests to spare the time to share their impressions of the Cart Shed with others. It is so good to feel that we had provided enough information about our local district, that they were able to explore it at length and in great detail. Even after a fortnight with us there were still places to be visited and explored. Thank you to these guests for their generous comments about our cottage.

April 2014 4 night break

  • 5 out of 5
What a beautiful, clean, cosy, lovely cottage for a short break! The views were amazing and certainly made waking up much easier every morning. So peaceful with endless walks on your doorstep, great local pub with high quality food and friendly staff and beach walks a short drive away. Fully equipped kitchen (better than my own!), clean linnen and towels and a very well kept garden - all in all no complaints and will definately be returning again! Thank you to the welcoming and friendly owners who made our stay even nicer.

Owner's Response: We would be very pleased to welcome our guests and their family again, their visit was easily arranged at quite short notice. It was our privilege to introduce them to the lovely area in which we live and for them to explore our many local beauty spots. It was so rewarding to hear that we meet our guests needs within the Cart Shed and that they left the accommodation as they found it. Thank you very much!

Lucky break

  • 5 out of 5
Thank you Pamela, Very comfortable, well equipped barn. Lovely location for walking and a quiet break. We were very lucky to have a bright day considering bad weather before and after our weekend away. Hope to return for a long summer weekend.

Owner's Response: With the untoward weather we have been having in recent weeks, it is lovely that our guests' break from home had not been entirely ruined by the unpredictable forces of nature. Thank you so much to our end of year guests for their kind comments. We look forward to welcoming them back in the summer, when they can further enjoy the scenery of the Rother valley, hopefully in better weather.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that our guests sampled what we are lucky enough to have around us all the time and
enjoyed our location as much as we do. Thank you for your generous compliments and for giving such an
accurate picture of our beautiful valley with such lovely walks, but also viewpoints for guests who want to
use their car to share these landscapes. We provide two files at the Cart Shed that outline our district's
attractions, as well as local walks of varying lengths to give the best choice for our visitors. Thanks also to
our guests for the lovely way they left the Cart Shed, it helps us so much to maintain the highest standards
for future visitors.

A home from home

  • 5 out of 5
This was our second visit this year and it was a very nice feeling to drive down the lovely long driveway to the peace of the Old Cart Shed. It is such a lovely little house - perfect - that we feel we could easily just move in and not leave!

It's very well appointed and the only thing that would make it better is a full length mirror somewhere. (I remembered it didn't have one and brought one with me the second time.) The kitchen is easy to work in (I cooked several times) and a good size, the shower is good, it's lovely and peaceful. The garden is lovely and the views are great. Despite staying Nov/Dec we still sat outside to have a coffee in the garden. Fabulous for dogs and easy to keep clean and tidy. We are looking forward to our next visit already.

Thank you Pam, Keith and Andrew.

Owner's Response: Thank you to our guests for sparing the time to write a review during a very busy time in their lives. Firstly, for us it is a reward alone to find guests returning to the tranquil setting of the Cart Shed, but also to have such generous comments about what we provide. We welcome suggestions to improve what is there currently and a full length mirror will be there before our next guests arrive. We have also recently put in a new dressing table mirror at the suggestion of a past guest, so together with a very good make-up mirror with plain and magnifying faces, we hope to have met everybody's needs. We know that it is those small details that make the difference in an accommodation. We look forward to the return of these guests, they left the cottage as they found it. Wonderful, thank you!

Excellent Cottage in peaceful setting

  • 4 out of 5
Despite mixed weather we thoroughly enjoyed our week in this spacious, very well equipped cottage. Set in a beautiful rural location, very friendly and helpful owners and just a short walk across the fields to the Cricketers for a good pub meal. Our first visit to West Sussex and its many attractions, all within easy reach of the cottage and we particularly enjoyed Arundel Castle, Parham House, the Roman sites, National Trust properties and the beautiful countryside right on the doorstep.
We would highly recommend this property - a really lovely place to stay.

Owner's Response: It was wonderful to hear that our guests from East Anglia had so enjoyed their stay, making excellent use of the good weather they had, as well as the less predictable days. Our local pub like many others in the district give an excellent choice of places to eat out and our Cook branch nearby in Midhurst provides a wide choice of quality meals to take home to cook in the Cart Shed for relaxed nights in. We are always very grateful to our guests for sparing the time to give first-hand feedback about their accommodation. Thank you!
