Cavalaire-sur-Mer is a sought-after location for family holidays and as a base for exploring the Mediterranean region. Situated just to the south of St. Tropez, there are 3 kms of white sandy beaches in a sheltered, shallow bay ideal for young children. The attractive marina, with over 1000 moorings, gives it a touch of class but without the hustle and bustle of the larger Mediterranean resorts.
Although quieter than the larger Cote d'Azur resorts, there are still plenty of things to do. Catch the sightseeing train at the port as a great way to get your bearings. The main streets have several pavement cafes and restaurants and there is a busy programme of concerts and shows. Every Wednesday, a large market held on place Jean Moulin sells regional produce including honey, olives, olive oil, locally made saucisson and local rosé wine. Year round sunshine and the Pradels mountains, lying just behind the town, complete the setting for a perfect holiday.
