Les Échines-Dessous (Alt.1230m) is on the sunny north side (facing south) of the Tarentaise valley, a 10 minute drive (6km) from BOURG SAINT MAURICE, which provides numerous shops and restaurants, several large supermarkets, the international railway station with adjacent funicular to LES ARCS, and a lovely pedestrian high street with a colourful Saturday morning outdoor street market.
In Winter the chalet provides high quality character accommodation with easy access to LES ARCS, and the adventurous skier has the flexibility to ski several other top French ski resorts all in the same week. In Summer, the village provides the perfect base for numerous alpine activities, everything from white water rafting, parapenting, kayaking, cycling, climbing or hiking. Or simply savour the relaxed picturesque mountain village with its local traditions and way of life.
Les Echines is a genuine Tarentaise village where traditional alpine lifestyles survive.
Other Activities: White Water Rafting, Canoe, Canyoning, Paragliding, Walking
Golf: Golf is available from late June till early September Mountain golf course at Arc 1800 on the mountainside facing Les Echines Dessous. Whether a skilled golfer or just a beginner, the Golf course in Arc 1800 was designed so that everyone can enjoy themselves. There are professionally run three or five day courses throughout the summer.

The bottom of the Les Arcs funicular is in Bourg Saint Maurice, a 6km drive from Chalet Tarine, which takes between 10-15 minutes. This is where you park and buy your ski pass and begin and end your days skiing.
The funicular itself takes 7 minutes and at the top of the funicular is Arcs '1600' from where you can ski the huge Les Arcs ski area, this includes the villages of Villaroger, Peisney Vallendry, plus Les Arcs 1800, 1950, and 2000.
Les Arcs is easily big enough to keep you busy all week, but the extraordinary Vanoise Express cable car connects Les Arcs directly to the 10 resorts and villages that form the huge LA PLAGNE ski area. Together 'Les Arcs' and 'La Plagne' form a 400KM ski area know as 'PARADISKI,' one of the largest ski areas in the world.
The ski resorts of La Rosiere and St Foy are also easily accessible.
