2 Bedroom Luxury Apartment sleeps up to 4 people and is central to all amenities

This new luxury first floor apartment is south facing and is located in a quiet conservation area in the historic market town of Kendal close to all local amenities, and is well situated for exploring the Lakes. Allocated private parking is provided. The apartment is very well equipped with good quality furnishings and offers a high standard of comfort and cleanliness. Consisting of the following rooms: Hallway, Large tastefully decorated true Lounge/Diner incorporating comfortable seating for four people, dining table and four chairs, Panasonic Viera LCD TV/DVD and CD player, large patio doors leading out on to the Balcony where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine with a sunny aspect and views of Kendal Castle and beyond. There is a separate high spec kitchen equipped with modern conveniences. The good sized bathroom has a bath with overhead power shower and a large storage cupboard. There are 2 Bedrooms, Bedroom 1 has 2 single beds and Bedroom 2 has 1 double bed.

Sporting Activities: There are two golf courses within a few minutes drive, Kendal Golf Club and Carus Green Golf Club, alternatively there is Windermere Golf club which is approximately a 15 minute drive. A full set of mens and a half set of ladies clubs are available for use from the owners of the apartment. Please advise upon booking.

Pitch and Putt is available at the park which is a two minute walk from the apartment.

There are swimming/ spa facilities at the hotel located round the corner from the apartment. Horse riding is available in the village of Natland a five minute drive away.

Cycling paths are available throughout the Lake District. Grizedale forest is a great day out for the more energetic whether it be walking or cycling there is something for everyone.

Where to Go in Kendal and The Lakes: A detailed programme of events is available for viewing in the apartment. (Please, contact owner for more information).

There are weekly markets that take place every Wednesday and Saturday in the market place together with a special Farmers Market which proves very popular and this is staged every last Friday of the month.

The Brewery Arts Centre is a good venue for live concerts, cinema, restaurant and outside entertainment. Kendal is also home to the Quaker Tapestry Exhibition, Abbot Hall Art Gallery, K Shoes and the famous Kendal Mint Cake.

Wordworth's homes Dove Cottage Grasmere and Rydal Mount are approximately a 30 minute drive away.

Beatrix Potters house is at Hill Top in Sawrey, and the Beatrix Potter Exhibition in Bowness is a great experience.

Blackwell Arts & Craft Home between Bowness and Newby Bridge.

John Ruskin's beautiful home at Brantwood Coniston. On Lake coniston ride the Gondola steamboat and visit the Donald Campbell Museum.

Eating Out: Kendal is known for it's many restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, deli's, bars. One of the best pubs in town The Castle Inn is located just around the corner from the apartment together with the opening of the Grade II listed Castle Diary which is open for light lunches, afternoon teas and evening meals (the oldest building in town and a very historical setting). There is also an excellent choice of takeaway food for those wishing to relax at home after a long days walking/cycling.

If eating in is your preference there are several supermarkets in Kendal. Morrison's and Aldi are the closest to the apartment and only two minutes away by car. There is also a petrol station at Morrisons. Dominoes Pizza, The Cottage fish & chip shop, Eastern Balti takeaway are also a two minute walk from the apartment.

Caroline purchased Drysalters apartment as a rental business in 2009. After living in Kendal for most of my life I wanted other people to enjoy this beautiful historic market town as we have done over the years.

Purely it's fantastic location!!

The lovely views from the property and the easy access to everywhere together with the allocated private parking.

The property is situated in a conservation area of Kendal. Close enough for all local amenities and a 5-10 minute stroll into town. Located within a private cul-de-sac within a quiet area but with several amenites just around the corner.

What makes this apartment unique

Location and easy access to all areas of 'The Lakes'.

Owner organises all aspects from initial booking, meeting guests upon arrival/departure. I personally look after the property and do not use other agents therefore ensuring that everything is properly organised and the cleaning is all done by myself ensuring a high standard of cleanliness.

The owner lives within close proximity and is therefore available to deal with any queries that should arise during a guests stay.

Perfect for visiting the Lake District

This accommodation is absolutely first class. It is so well maintained that it looks brand new and the quality of the finishing and furnishings are exceedingly high in our opinion. The owner Caroline gave us a brilliant welcome and we would have to say her customer care is probably amongst the best we have come across, she even phoned the next day to make sure everything was to our liking and just to check if she could help us with anything. We found it an excellent base for touring the Lakes and would not hesitate to recommend this property to our friends and family. We found good restaurants and pubs only a short distance from the flat. The flat is in a very quiet and well presented area. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to the area. I’m confident that Caroline’s focus to detail will ensure this property will remain to be well maintained and kept to the current high standard.

Lovely, clean, great location

We were looking for somewhere central to base ourselves for the Lake District and Kendal seemed perfect. After looking around, I came across Drysalters, which had great reviews, so we thought we'd give it a try. I'm glad to say, we weren't disappointed. The accommodation is lovely and clean (Caroline does it herself to her credit) and the location is perfect, you don't need to use the car for Kendal itself and it was easy to find. It's also easy for getting out, just be careful of the Kendal centre one-way system! The apartment itself is compact yet perfectly spacious. Although it's on the first floor, there are only a few stairs. Nice sized lounge/diner, two decent sized bedrooms and the kitchen is fine. Caroline thinks of almost everything that you may need to get you started, the milk and fruit juice were much appreciated, as were the cereals, nothing is scrimped on, it's all the best. I would definately recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing away from it all break.

Another great stay at Drysalters! It is a great rental apartment and Caroline made us feel very welcome, and couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay went smoothly. The added bonus of wi-fi at the apartment is a great addition. We had an excellent week exploring the lakes and we hope to be back next year!

We regularly take short breaks in the UK and throughout Europe usually renting apartments in preference to hotels and Caroline's apartment in Kendal has been one of the best in recent years. It is spacious, spotlessly clean and superbly equipped right down to the efficient 10mb Wifi connection and the complimentary cereals, milk, fruit juice, tea, coffee and bottle of wine awaiting us on arrival. Caroline is a brilliant hostess and gave us the best tour round the facilities of an apartment we've ever had - then phoned the next day to check all was well.
The location is also excellent. Just a few minutes stroll to the town centre but the Drysalters cul de sac is very quiet and peaceful and is a good base for exploring the whole area.
We hadn't planned our activities in advance, waiting to see what the weather was like, and Caroline had helpfully provided a vast array of books, brochures and guides to help us and even left a hand written note about the bluebells blooming that week in Rannerdale and how to find them. (We did, and they were beautiful).
Apart from breakfast, we ate out and found some very good restaurants within easy walking distance.
If you're looking for somewhere to stay in the Lake District you'll find this apartment hard to beat.

A great location on the edge of town. The popular market town of Kendal effortlessly combines the cosmopolitan with the traditional. There's also a great choice of restaurants, coffee shops, bars and pubs all within a few minutes walking distance. Within a radius of just a few hundred metres of Drysalter's there is a convenience store/newsagent, DVD rental shop, off licence, a popular gym/spa and a super laundry shop, Kendal Museum, Quaker Tapestry exhibition, art galleries and plenty of wonderful walks around the old town. Kendal railway station, where the local train service runs from early morning to late at night for visits to Windermere, also the Main Coast Line. There is a direct link to Manchester Airport which takes approximately 90 minutes. The Lake District National Park is only 3 miles away and there are lots of day trips and things to explore including the Beatrix Potter exhibition and her original home and the Lakeland Steamers to view the Lakes in all their glory.

Golf: There are two golf clubs within a five minute drive of the apartment. Kendal Golf club and Carus Green Golf club. Also, there is Windermere Golf club which is a 15 minute drive away.

A full set of mens clubs and a half set of ladies clubs are available for use from the owners of the apartment. Please request upon booking.

Ski: There is a Dry Ski Slope within walking distance for the more energetic opening times autumn/late winter only.

Alternatively, during the winter months depending on the snow levels Kirkstone and the surrounding hills enjoy a varied ski season. Fantastic skiing during Dec/Jan 2010 where our guests enjoyed hitting the slopes.

The apartment is situated on the first floor and is not suitable for unsupervised young children. Therefore, children under the age of six are not permitted as the apartment is not equipped with child safety features. There is one flight of stairs which are very wide with easy access but unsuitable for disabled guests or individuals with walking difficulties. The car parking space is adjacent to the property and is situated within a private cul de sac alongside the landscaped gardens. A second parking space can be agreed if required at the time of booking for guests arriving with more than one car.
