Thanks for the use of your wonderful apartment. We have had a great holiday and totally love Cadiz. So much so.... can we book for September 2014 please. I know it is a bit early but we do not want to miss the chance of coming back next year. By the way, the new lounge is fab, great colours and comfy sofa and chairs. A beautiful apartment for holidays in Cadiz

We have stayed in this apartment 6 holidays. I like the location as it is near the train and bus station. We get the train from Madrid and then walk from the station to the apartment. The apartment is always clean and the owners are very kind and helpful. It is a very large apartment and everything is new and modern. There is never anything broken. The apartment is in very quiet area but at the end of the small street is the main square so we only have to walk a short distance to sit out in the sun or take a coffee in the bars. At night we like to go for a walk in the city then to the local restaurants which are all very good. Some are small family restaurant and some big with seats to sit outside which we like. We have come to Cadiz in Winter, Spring and Summer and it is always beautiful and the weather good. Even in winter it is warm there.

We are Spanish so we like the beach. Sometimes we go to the local beach but we like also the beach at Cortadura and take the city train to this beach. It is only a few minutes on the train. I like shopping and history and my husband like history and culture. The owners know Cadiz like experts so always we take their advice for new things to see in the city.

The owners always come to meet us and we think they are part of our family now. I recommend you go to Cadiz and stay at this apartment. Have a happy holiday in Cadiz.

Perfect Apartment

Absolutely perfect in every way! The location was central to everything yet very quiet. The apartment was extremely clean and comfortable, and though there was no air conditioning, there were overhead bedroom fans and several floor fans that kept the apartment a very comfortable temperature even on the hottest days. The owner Derek met us on arrival and was very knowledgable and helpful. I ended up forgetting my iphone charger and Derek was great about shipping it back to me at no charge. I really can't speak highly enough about this apartment, it exceeded all of our expectations, as did the town of Cadiz.

We work hard to keep the apartment to the highest standards of both comfort and cleanliness so it is greatly appreciated that you have mentioned both of these points in your review. All our guests over the years have commented on how cool the property is in summer and how warm it is in winter. I guess several centuries ago when the property was built, they knew what they were doing and built it to maintain a comfortable living temperature throughout the year. I am not sure if you noticed that the medieval lane on which the apartment sits has a bend in it. That was to prevent the good citizens being annoyed by any passing breezes as they strolled along the cobbled street. The comfort of the locals was paramount in those days! It was no problem to return the charger and I am glad it arrived safely with you. I sincerely hope you will return again to Cadiz and you will certainly be very welcome to stay with us.

Spacious, spotless, comfortable and very central!

This apartment, in the beautiful Old Town region of Cadiz, is perfect! It is central - near to bars, restaurants, tourist info office, bus stops and the train station - but is in a quiet street so very peaceful. It's spotlessly clean, with lots of space and great facilities - laundry stuff, dvds, wifi, books, games, etc, We'd definitely recommend this apartment to anyone travelling to Cadiz.
The lovely beaches were a short bus ride or 10min walk away through the lovely narrow streets. For a real taste of Spanish family life check out the beach at Playa de la Caleta on a Sunday afternoon - packed but wonderful for atmosphere!
The owners, Derek and Lesley at Cadiz Casa, made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Before we arrived, they also answered questions we had about the area, and provided clear directions for our drive down from Malaga which was very helpful. We would recommend this wonderful company to anyone looking for a break in Spain - very reliable and stress free!

As you know we are very much in love with Cadiz City and we want everyone who visits us to have a positive and good experience so we do all we can to help our guests. Having lived here for 14 years and being Spanish speakers there is not much we cannot sort out when asked to do so. Over the years we have arranged everything from taxi´s to tickets for events and special dinners for our guests and while many just want to soak up the vibrant atmosphere of Cadiz we are always happy to help. As you say, Sunday is family day in Cadiz and everyone heads to the beach and the surrounding bars and restaurants to meet friends and enjoy a bit of a chat but luckily, the remainder of the week the beaches are quiet and you can spread out and choose your patch. You can visit a beach a day using the internal Cadiz City train line. We have beach all round Cadiz City, miles of it and it is all the same white sand, we are also very lucky to have an excellent beach cleaning programme so the beaches are cleaned and combed by a tractor daily to keep them in pristine condition.

I am delighted you found the apartment to a high standard and you were comfortable there. We constantly upgrade and refurb as required to keep the apartment immaculate and make it a home from home. We find people who have stayed before in Cadiz are amazed at the size of the apartment which is quite unusual in the City and the unique kitchen/diner something you rarely see here in Spain is really popular for those who just want to have a quiet meal in some nights.

I hope you do manage back to Cadiz City and you will certainly be very welcome to stay with us again. Thank you for taking the time to write.

Excellent location in Cadiz

My wife and I had a wonderful week in this Cadiz property. Derek met us after our rail journey from Seville and showed us around. The apartment was clean and very secure and located in an excellent position. There is a supermarket nearby so carrying bottled water was no problem. Within walking distance there is also an indoor market selling meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. Next to this is a Carrefour supermarket. Cadiz is a beautiful city both by day and night with plenty of tapas bars. Local buses are frequent and cheap. As we were there for seven days we took the opportunity to visit Jerez twice. This is another excellent place to see and only 45 minutes by train from the Renfe station using the Cercanias C1 Line. We also used the Ferry to visit Puerto De Santa Maria. It was quicker and cheaper than train. All these services are very close to the apartment. A most enjoyable holiday. Highly recommended.

We fit 3 adults and 3 children into this apartment for 4 nights and had an excellent stay. The apartment was immaculate and the kitchen was well-stocked. Everything was in good working order as well. The location made it possible to walk everywhere in old Cadiz, including the train station. Also, it was the only place we rented in Spain that provided a high-chair for our 18-month-old. There were movies, brochures, and maps, and comfortable furniture. The only thing we missed was internet access and an elevator (due to having a stroller), but these were minor issues and we had an internet cafe just across from the building. I would highly recommend this unit. It is a great value and the owners were very professional and accomodating.

Regards facilities for children, we always provide high chairs and travel costs for young children and although the aprtment is for 4 we try to accommodate young children in the large master bedroom beside their parents if required. We have also installed window locks as a safety feature for children.

I know a lift would be nice but unfortunately 18th century architects had not got their heads around the concept so there is no where to install a lift in the building and I think it would probably spoil the inner courtyard if they did tried to put one there. The lady across the corridor is now 96 and she still gets up and down the one flight of stairs so I guess it keeps you young.

Wonderful apartment

We recently spent a couple of days in Cadiz with our 3 kids and this was the ideal base for us to explore the city. Wonderful spacious apartment, ample storage, two bathrooms, excellent air con, quiet despite being situated right in the heart of the city. Also, Derek could not have been more accommodating and gracious - despite the fact that we were 3 hours late arriving!! Look no further - this is the ideal place to stay.

Enjoy the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez (30 min by car) or watch a practice day for only 3 euros. Trips to Morocco by Ferry. The famous Royal Jerez Horse Academy or Sherry bodegas (tours available) - 30 min by car or train. Visit the Flamenco clubs in Cadiz and sample the local 'fino'(sherry). Enjoy the wonderful tapas bars and fish restaurants of Cadiz and Puerto de Santa Maria. Go bird watching in The Grazelema mountains (40 min by car).Fabulous shopping 4 minutes walk from the apartment. Cadiz is reckoned by many, including the Spanish, to host the best and liveliest fiestas, notably the annual Carnival in (February) and Semana Santa (Easter week), but there are many more throughout the year. For the sporty there are endless lush green golf courses.
