This 48 square metre 1 bedroom apartment combines chic designer style with a very British townhouse setting. It has a real 'wow-factor' and a fabulous leafy garden. A cool modern finish in laid-back South London by both the pubs and the park help give Fernlea Garden 1 its unique London feel for your trip or mini-break. Open-plan living area comprising of a kitchen, dining area and lounge. The fully integrated designer kitchen has funky modern lighting, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher & waste disposal unit. All the crockery, cutlery, pots and pans you could wish for are provided. The lounge has a 37 inch LCD TV with Freeview and a remote control hole-in-the-wall living flame gas fire, situated below the TV, makes for a real focal point with a 'Wow' factor. Next door is the 'sister' Fernlea Garden 2 apartment, ideally sleeping 2 people. This one bedroom flat is identically laid out but has a walk-in shower (no bath) and there is not a sofa bed in the lounge.

Fernlea Garden 1 is our favourite place to stay

We used to be split between staying in the West End and someplace else which is more comfortable but still easy to get to the theatres from. We've fallen in love with Balham. It has a real community feel and is so much more relaxing than staying in the West End but yet we can hop on the Tube and be to a show in 20 minutes. Julie and her team of excellent staff make us feel welcome each time we visit and this is the only place we'll stay when we visit London. The apartment is kept immaculate and the customer service is second to none. We've also stayed in the Fernlea Garden 2 apartment which is right next door and pretty much identical. If you prefer a bath with shower over it the Garden 1 is for you but for anyone needing easy access Garden 2 has a big walk-in shower. Beds in both are very comfortable. Shops, bars and restaurants within 30 seconds of your front door. Lovely tranquil garden. Our favourite place to stay in London, by far.

I just returned from a two week stay at Fernlea Garden 2 with my adult daughter. I would not hesitate to recommend this rental. Julie was absolutely wonderful. She left a phone number and e-mail address where we could reach her if there were ever any issues. However, everything was perfect, so there was no need to call.

We arrived on a cold and rainy day. When we entered the apartment, the heat was on, and the rental was spotlessly clean. Julie thoughtfully dropped off a Christmas tree, lights and ornaments, as we were there over Christmas. This had not been requested, and was so considerate of her. It made the apartment feel very festive. She also left a fold out bed as we had requested.

The apartment contained everything we needed to make it feel like home. All appliances worked well, and the wi-fi was great. It was so nice to have a washer and dryer, oven, stove, microwave, dish washer, fridge, freezer, etc, which we would not have had in a hotel. room. Fernlea Garden 2 is located in a really nice neighborhood in the suburb of Balham just a few minutes walk from the tube station. Prior to arriving at the apartment, I was concerned about the distance from Central London, but Balham is a quick trip via one of the major tube lines to the city. My daughter and I loved the town of Balham. There are great shops and restaurants. We returned numerous times to 2 Indian restaurants around the corner for takeout, which was amazingly good and reasonably priced. There are at least 2 large supermarkets very close to the apartment, and a small convenience store which has later hours then Sainsbury and Waitrose.

The bed was very comfortable, and the apartment was quiet. We will definitely return to this apartment again. I cannot see staying in a hotel when for the same price or less, you can have such an amazing place to call home.

I loved it. I was over from Australia to visit my son and family nearby for a month, plus catch up with old friends etc. I arrived in the evening and Mike was there to welcome me and show me through. Balham tube is just up the road, as well as Waitrose, Sainsbury and everything else I could want.

The grandsons loved the garden, and I loved the flat. It has been 'done over' very well, with nice light Ikea stuff, and I had all I needed for a very comfortable stay. Heaps of room for clothes and that. I've already recommended it to friends. Wifi included was also very good.

I had a temporary problem with the washing machine, and Mike was there immediately, and it was fixed very quickly. How good is that?

I chose to have the cleaners come in weekly for a good clean up and linen change, and it was worth it.

Also, Balham tube meant I was in central London very quickly and there's also an 'overland' train, so I could get down to Kent and wherever equally easily.

Its a nice comfortable flat

Fernlea garden 2 is a fully and nicely furnished flat. When we arrived we didnt need to go get anything it included all the appliances we need in the kitchen and for cleaning. It makes you feel like you are at home far from home.
The location is also close to central london via Victoria line.
There are also close coffee shops and restaurants just in case you didnt feel like going anywhere far.
And to be honest this is the first time for me to rent a flat via website because usually websites cant be trusted but this flat looks exactly like the pictures posted and contains everything there is in the description.Not to mention Mike was really kind and helpful when we called him to ask about electricity he was of great assistance and even came by himself to check if everything was okay.
I highly recommend you stay here it will be worth every penny!

My husband and I have stayed at Fernlea Garden 1 numerous times over the past few years. We almost regard it as our own little "house" in London. The apartment is in a great location in Balham,close to the tube, overground rail, shops, restaurants and all the amenities you are looking for when on holiday. The apartment is kept very clean and well maintained, is extremely comfortable and well furnished, and although in a very convenient location, is also quiet. The ever helpful Mike and Julie look after you very well and make booking and checking in an easy and straight forward process. I would highly recommend staying in this property and have recommended it to our friends.

Balham is 'south of the river' in South London Borough of Wandsworth, near Clapham. Just like neighbouring Clapham before it, Balham has undergone a massive transformation over recent years. The landscaped garden is accessed from the lounge via French doors, leading firstly on to a private decked area and then onto the beautiful communal garden with a further decked patio. There is a table and chairs with seating for 6, as well as two sun loungers, a shed and a BBQ. Parking & Luggage: On-street parking available; daily permits available at a small cost; should be ordered through us at time of booking as we must obtain them from our local council office. Otherwise metered parking is available from 09:30 - 17:30 on Monday through Saturday (max 4 hrs.) If you need to store luggage after arrival to London or until your departure from London and are not able to leave it with us as long as you'd like we recommend that you check with the main transport (rail or bus) terminals that will have luggage storage lockers.
