Our marble floored apartment is situated within the Mikonos Playa complex by the beautiful marina in Duquesa. It is, of course, fully equipped to make your stay as pleasant & comfortable as possible. You will find a 32' LCD TV with Sky News and various other Sky 'free' channels via satellite plus a DVD with 100's of films, iPod dock, radio/CD player, PlayStation 2, air-con/heating, safe, bed linen, bath towels, refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Our apartment has two bedrooms. The master features a double bed with fitted wardrobes & an en-suite bathroom, featuring a Jacuzzi bath. The 2nd bedroom has two single beds whilst the 2nd bathroom features a hand basin, shower and toilet. The living room sofa-bed means that a family of six can be accommodated. It benefits from secure access, private designated underground parking and lift access (suitable for wheelchairs). You have full use of the private pool & deck on the 1st floor with no high rise hotels to spoil the sea views

Don't drive, won't drive ??

No problem as we are close to the local bus stops and you can get from and to Malaga airport for under £10 each way. It does take three buses (airport Marbella Estapona Duquesa) and the bus connections are very convenient. The journey takes around three hours but this is no problem if you consider it as a tour of the Costa Del Sol. You're on holiday so why rush?

Need a cot for your young one? Not a problem as we can provide one for just 10 euro per week.

Hi, we're Stan & Helen Kiddle. We met in 1979 and married in 1984 and have two grown-up children. We live in St Alban's Hertfordshire, just North of London were we grew up.

We purchased No.28 Mikonos Player 'off-plan' in 2003 and took ownership in 2004. First and foremost it's our holiday home and therefore we like to think of our guests almost as part of our extended family. We hope that when you stay at no.28 you will treat it as you would your own home, and, most important, feel at home and relax.

We have a number of guests who return year on year and, as you will expect, we give them the best possible pricing. But we do have a mortgage, cleaning and utility bills to pay for so if the price we quote sounds a little high, let us know and, if we can't reduce it for you, you will understand why.

We just love talking to new clients about Duquesa, it's not quite as good as actually being there but it's the next best thing. So please please, do pick up the phone for a chat. Best wishes

Shaw Family - two weeks in no.28

This was our first booking with Stan & Helen reference No 28 Mikonos Playa and the initial exchanges where very pleasing. Stan & Helen where keen to help and answered all our queries promptly and with expertise. The website offers a host of information about Duquesa and the surrounding area but this does nothing to highlight what a wonderful part of the Costa del Sol this is.
The apartment is bright, spacious and tastefully appointed. The bedrooms are large and the beds comfy. The apartment has everything you could expect home from home. The Sky TV proved useful in keeping a sunburnt grandparent occupied with a list of movies that would put most hire shops to shame.
We have been to the area before but only to visit the marina for a bite to eat. The apartment is ideally situated and offers the best of the beaches, restaurants and bars but still manages to be far enough away so you’re not influenced by the marina’s bustling nightlife. The area is safe for children and families as we often allowed our teenaged children to venture to the marina to buy drinks or ice creams without any questions or fears.
All in all we had a great time in No 28 and will defo be recommending the apartment to family and friends.

PS. we have already rebooked for 2010.

Wonderful value on a wonderful property.

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful week at number 28 Mikonos Playa. The apartment was clean and comfortable and just as Stan had described in his listing. It was conveniently located along the Costa Del Sol. We made day trips to Gibraltar, Ronda, Morocco, Puerto Banus, Marbella. The apartment, building and swimming pool were all very well maintained and we enjoyed our stay. Jan (in number 4) was a life saver and helped us greatly by trying to get the tv programmed and the wifi. Stan made everything convenient and easy for us to access to the apartment with his instructions in the guest guide. Thank you Stan and Jan! I can definitely recommend this apartment to any family.

Easter 2014 in 28 mikonos playa

Had a lovely 2 weeks stay at the mikonos playa complex.
The marina area has everything you need for eating out or just sitting with a drink relaxing.
The decor in the apartment getting a bit tired & the road outside the balcony is busy but it is very clean & has everything you need, loads of DVD's, Wifi. It is very spacious and the pool area has plenty of beds & all very clean in fact the whole complex is spotless. The underground parking is very handy if you need to park.
The owners are very easy to deal with & Valerie the cleaner was a god send seeing we left the keys to the apartment at home. ( Thanks Valerie ).
It's also great value for money.

Whilst we can't do anything about the road, Helen & I are due out ourselves for two weeks in May to spruce things up. It's just ten years since the Mikonos Player complex opened and we picked up our set of keys so we are aware that we need to ensure that we keep on top of things and maintain high standards.

We also like to provide great value for money. For that reason you will find IKEA furniture and linen etc. at no.28 rather than some expensive high-end brands. If we can keep our running costs down we can keep our rental fees down and, as yet, no-one has shown us a better price for a comparable apartment.

We look forward to passing on the great feedback to Val, our cleaner. Originally from Glasgow she's our angel making sure that everything is as perfect as possible for our guests.

We have had a very nice stay in this lovely apartment. It was very clean and has everything you need. The owner was very helpful. The traffic outside the balcony was noisy but you get used to it. Nice sunset from the balcony.

Lovely Apartment in a super complex.

Took a family of four, for a week in this apartment. The owner and his wife (Stan & Helen) made the booking, the key collection and the apartment guide all very easy and they were a pleasure do deal with. We mainly used the pool area during the day, which made nipping up to the apartment for lunch very convenient. If you prefer the beach there is so much space you could have a football sized beach space to yourself. I liked the DVD collection, Satellite TV and the WI-FI connection which were all used and much appreciated. The restaurants around the harbour provided plenty of choice (prices are similar to the UK) aswell as some nice places a short 5-10 minute walk going east along the path next to the beach. The property was in very good condition when we arrived. We cooked on one occasion (Murray was playing a Wimbledon match), and also used the washing machine. The underground private car parking space is very handy, only using our hire car to visit the local supermarkets. The location near the private pool, the closeness to the beach, supermarkets and restaurants made this holiday very enjoyable. Thanks very much.

Excellent apartment & very affordable

This apartment proved a success for myself and my two sons, 21 & 18 years old.
Not too far away from what we wanted to do, and not too close to the hustle and bustle that can sometimes take place at holiday resorts. The 8Mbit/s WiFi was very popular with all, and so was UK satellite TV. OK, close to the main road, but we did not go to Costa del Sol to sit on the balcony, which was still good for morning coffee and to catch the last rays of sun in the evening. All the white goods you need was there, as per the amenities list, all rooms were in very good nick, with very nice tile clad bathrooms. Even ***** hotels can suffer from awful beds, no problem here, the beds were very good. We enjoyed the maps & pamphlets collection in the living room, giving us lots of useful tips on what goes on around La Duquesa, not to mention the detailed manual provided by the owners.

We have never seen so many cafes, bars & restaurants within such a confined area ever, so there must be an alternative for everyone's taste (& wallet !).

Thirty minutes drive from the gated garage to Gibraltar on very good roads,...Once there it's a fascinating place with lots of old & recent history .

Thirty minutes drive will take you to wonderful villages in the mountains, but watch out for the narrow streets, they are sometimes VERY narrow..

All in all a very good week in a very good place, we'd like to go back, for sure !

La Duquesa has undergone considerable development over the last few years. If you are driving towards Gibraltar, La Duquesa is on your way between Estepona and Sotogrande. It is regarded as the final major holiday resort location in the Malaga region before you enter Cadiz. Within the area you will find port of Duquesa, with its international restaurants and boutiques.

The port provides a full marina service for enthusiastic sailors, not to mention plenty of alternatives for those who prefer to admire the boats from the safety of one of the wide variety of restaurants, intimate bars and small cafes dotted around the port.

Roads leading away from the port take you to the hills of Duquesa and its golf course, the Duquesa Golf and Country Club. Numerous other golf clubs are a short drive away. Likewise, the main coastal highway takes you quickly to Marbella, Estapona and Puerto Banus. Head west past Gibraltar and you will find Tarifa, water sports capital of Spain.

Notes:
We are ajacent to the local Tourist Office which operates excursions during the busier months and can assist with bus travel and general tourist enquiries. We have our own dedicated parking space, close to the lift, in the gated secure underground car park. The local taxi rank is just across the road as are the nearest shops and bank with ATM. Bus stops are also just a couple of minutes walk up to the main road.
