Guestbook comments from the owner

What a wonderful house! We felt so at home the minute we stepped inside. Such lovely views, great location for exploring and just far enough ferom Mousehole to walk off the evening meal at the Ship Inn... Don't forget to book! We also enjoyed meals at the KIng's Arms.

We loved the house and have gone home full of ideas for our new house build.

Best en suite we have ever experienced!

Beautiful cottage in beautiful location

  • 5 out of 5
We had a lovely, relaxing week in this beautiful cottage.
The cottage is spacious and light, with wonderful views across to St Michael's Mount.
The garden is also a real treasure, with plenty of places to sit and chill out and admire the views.
The cottage is a short walk away from Mousehole and close to some lovely beaches and other attractions. We did not want to leave!
We would highly recommend this cottage.

Mount view is the perfect family home, as a base for the many days out we had planned. We felt at home immediately and Mount view provided facilities above and beyond our requirements. The main bedroom and ensuite were superb. The house was immaculately clean and the book case was enviable.
Its location is perfect for a ten minute stroll down to mousehole for a lovely meal in the Ship inn or an even shorter stroll to the good food in the kings arms.
From mount View we were able to visit Porthcurno beach, Sunset at Sennen Cove, St Ives, Cadgwith, and even managed trips to The Eden Project and Polperro.
The next time we visit this beautiful part of the country we will be coming back to mountview.

Lovely comfortable cottage in a fabulous location

  • 5 out of 5
This cottage was a wonderful place to stay for our week's vacation in Cornwall. The owners' book for guests was helpful for everything from how to work the washing machine to where to go for lunch. Every room was impeccably clean, meticulously maintained and very pretty. The kitchen was spacious, well-designed and well-equipped for people who like to cook and we did a lot of cooking and eating at home. The sunroom overlooking the private garden was perfect for using the WiFI, reading a book or taking a nap on the comfortable furniture. From all of the front windows as well as the garden, we could look across the bay at St. Michael's Mount and watch storms coming in across the water, with gorgeous cloud patterns as the weather cleared. The towns of Mousehole and Newlyn were both a walk away; we enjoyed the restaurants, small galleries and lovely little harbor in Mousehole as well as the very photogenic fishing harbor and fabulous fresh seafood in Newlyn. The rest of Cornwall was within easy driving reach and we visited the Lizard Peninsula (another gorgeously photogenic spot) and Tintagel, legendary birthplace of King Arthur. We felt totally at home in this lovely cottage and will return to stay again when we next visit Cornwall.

We were delighted with Mountview Cottage

  • 5 out of 5
We can honestly say that we had a super week at the end of October, and were thrilled with the sense of space and light as soon as we stepped inside this warm and welcoming cottage. The cottage is so well equipped and comfortable, with super views of the sea that we were encouraged to make our own 'cream tea' (on more than one occasion) and enjoy the views from the kitchen! The art and books were thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed too, as were the candles. We seemed to have everything we needed- and more. We were able to ramble down the garden to enjoy the serenity and the sunsets, and maybe next time we will catch some sunshine if we come on a spring or summer break, which we most certainly intend to do. The location was great for us as a family as we could walk into Mousehole to eat/drink, then walk up the lane, back 'home' under the stars. I would certainly recommend Mountview to friends, and thanks to the owners and Alison for ensuring everything was in order for a perfect holiday.

Owner's Response: Thank you for this review...
Guests are always surprised and thrilled by the size of the cottage ( it was previously a row of small cottages) and its light and airy rooms.
We love our collection of original, local paintings, sculptures and ceramics and are glad that you enjoyed them.
The eclectic mix of books reflects our own interests, and we are very happy that our guests enjoy them too!
Great that the October weather allowed you to enjoy the garden and its amazing views.

The property is a delightful cottage in a superb location. The photographs did not do it justice.I almost wanted to say nothing and keep the details from everybody. We are already planning our return.Excellent restaurant in nearby Mousehole (Cornish Range) which we would highly recommend.
